0 to 1 star. The only reason giving 2 stars is because maybe the other departments are ok. I went to lumber to buy a bunch of wood for a deck. Most of the pieces were messed up, crooked, and not enough wood. I waited about 1 hour and finally left since nobody was around that knew anything or that could help. I will try a different home store tomorrow. The people that walked by us - nobody knew anything, and one guy told us 3 times that he was going to get someone and never did. HORRIBLE customer service, bad inventory. Stuff everywhere. I banged my head at one point to get some screws because stuff was all over, sticking out, and nobody around to help. read more

This is a Great Home Depot that features an extremely friendly and helpful group of Salespeople. Other highlights here are the new automated self check out machines that actually speak to you and assist you with your purchases. I think Robots are pretty cool, but 《this is exactly how Skynet gets it start》The Future is Now People. Huge selection of Building Supplies and an impressive Kitchen Faucet isle that has to be the most Faucets on Display that I've ever seen at a Home Depot. Horrible customer service and staff will not put store manager on phone. I was going to order flooring and was told incorrect information from sales associate in flooring regarding how to get samples. I was told I had to set up measuring appointment and pay $35 and when they came to do measurements they would bring samples and a catalog to look at. This did not happen the man said all he did was measurements. I called asked to speak with manager and she was never at the store. I decided to go with Empire flooring since there was such poor communication at the Selden, NY location. So glad I did! read more

I built my house using this Home Depot! When I got married, I lived in Holbrook for a year in my moms Mother-Daughter house. Saturday mornings, I'd load my brothers pick up truck with sheet rock at this location and drive up Nicholas Rd. Well, I made the turn onto 25a and 4 boards flew out! I started to unload and said wait a second, I'm missing a few. Sure enough, I circled back and there they were! With tire marks no less! Homedepot is selling more and more substandard products, particularly its flooring. I spent nearly a thousand dollars on flooring and found many planks from multiple boxes to be defective. I've spent the last ten weeks on their messenger, email, customer service and in-store manager trying to get to some resolution only for them to ignore me, pass me off to someone else and ultimately to say its not there problem. Don't bother with this location if you're looking for any kind of assistance. I went in this afternoon looking for an item the website claimed they had 6 in stock of. I followed the aisle and bay location on the site, and the item was not there. I searched for a solid 10 minutes before I could find someone who worked there to assist. This is the conversation that ensued: "Hello!" "Hi! I'm trying to find this item [shows phone]. The website says you have six, but I went to aisle 8 and there aren't any there." "Try BAY 8." [points aggressively to the word bay on my phone] "...I did." "Well then, I don't know what to tell you." as he walked away from me. I went back to home depot like a idiot and tried to purchase a washing machine. I waited 8 days for them to deliver it.when it arrived it didn't work. So I refused delivery I was told someone would call me soon.i wanted 4 hours no one called. I called home depot delivery they gave me a new delivery date for 5 days later. I accepted that and asked to speak to a supervisor. The supervisor told me they made a mistake I now have to wait 7 days to get a new one. The supervisor was rude and basically told me tuff. I contacted the store and the store told me they can't get me another machine any sooner. What's wrong with this company . In April I purchased a fence from home depot I waited 8 weeks for them to come and install it. I heard from no one. When I called them I was told that the fence company disappeared. So they sent another company over and quoted me a $1000 more. Home depot said they would honor the first quote I called the other fence company and haven't heard back from them it's now been 2 weeks since I tried to contact them. Home depot is the worst company I have ever delt with. It even took them 3 weeks to refund my money for the fence they said they had computer issues. It's not right they should have a policy in place for issues that come up and not treat their customers like SHIT. read more

Purchased a preassembled pantry cabinet. 2 guys got it off the shelf for me, opened the box and inspected it since previously bought a broken one at the setauket HD, without even asking. That's service. On the way out 2 other guys put it in the truck for me and when I tried to give them $$ for helping, they refused. They are going above and beyond without getting tips? I was in the South Setauket, New York Home Depot today at 1:00 pm in the garden department. A member of your staff (he had a Home Depot polo shirt on) Was yelling at a customer about a generator. He used the "F" word numerous times while there were customers in the area INCLUDING CHILDREN. I asked him to stop that there were children here. He said "I'm sorry but I have a situation here". I complained at customer service desk. The ladies were very apologetic but the male manager was very dismissive to me and said "I'll talk to him". I'm very disappointed that this behavior will be tolerated at Home Depot! read more

A typical Home Depot. Anything and everything you need to work around the house or in the backyard. This particular one is surprisingly clean and well maintained. However, the staff has only a few helpful individuals. I am a firm believer that "Home Depot" is a German word for "Not my department". I can be in the electrical isle looking for connectors or a junction box, see someone walking down that isle wearing the Orange apron, flag them down seeking assistance and they undoubtedly say "This isn't my department". WTF? If you need help with something then go straight to the front desk so you can wait there for them to call someone to meet you in the area you need assistance. I was almost 100% satisfied with this purchase. Me and my husband went in to get a washer and dryer we told her the size we needed and what we were looking for she first went to the The sales women was amazing!!!!! Delivery was scheduled for that Friday. The delivery came at the time they said they would come they took out the washer and dryer and they were supposed to take out the other washer and dryer which we paid for. I went to drop my son at daycare and when the delivery people there was sheet rock over the installation pump they need, my husband told them he will take it out it will take 2 seconds, then the delivery people said they couldn't install it because it would rip the floor up, my husband said he will pop the floor tile out right now and they can get it in. They still refused to install the washer dryer so The delivery guys wanted my husband to sign saying they delivered my husband then called me (while i was dropping our son at daycare) my husband asked me if he should sign i said absolutely not we are paying for delivery and set up and that's what were getting and he said the guys will refuse to leave without a signature. I got to my house and asked the 2 guys why they weren't installing, they said because the sheet rock, i told them my husband will hammer it down it will take 2 seconds, they then told me because the floor i said its fine we can get a new tile. They then said they don't want to install it because they will scratch the wall, i told them it was fine we have to paint anyway. They were still not wanting to install so i asked them if this washer and dryer is no good and told them they can take it back. They then decided they were going to install my husband made a hole in the sheet rock and took up the tile and it was installed 1, 2, 3..... I told the delivery people the whole time we were arguing they could have been done by now installing. When i called home depot to complain they gave me a third party number for the delivery people which is only a automated service so i wouldn't be able to complain anyway. read more

Recently came back to the Selden Home Dump hoping things have changed. Not only have they not changed they are worse then the last time we shopped and have had probloms for years now. Flash back to the other day when an idiot in lumber thought it ws ok to yell at my wife who is five feet two and a retired Catholic school teacher. This time the new M.O.D. C hris came up to talk to us pertaining to our issue. He did ask what happened but said in the next sentence that he has never had this kind of issue writh the idiot in lumber. My words not Chris's. The next thing that happened is the guy comes over cursing at me. This time I had my phone on recording so I could prove what he said. Big mistake Chris, this is no way to run a store. Trust me, you have lost us as a customer for life. I will make sure my union members read my full incident report explaining my side fully. Have been going to this store for 10 yrs and am usually pleased but today (4pm Saturday in August) I went looking for help replacing a cellular blind and the whole area (window blinds/carpeting) was a ghost town. After 5 minutes I found someone stocking shelves and he paged the person covering the department. 10 additional minutes waiting and no one shows up. On the way out of the store I intended to say something to a manager but couldn't find anyone at customer service either. Really frustrated. At this time of the day they should have more employees on the floor (or get them out of the break room). I'll never get that precious weekend time back!
