I'm extremely disappointed with the customer service at this location. In November, I purchased both an entryway drawer and a screen door and spent a significant amount of money. Unfortunately, the screen door broke just a few months later and is still under warranty. I reported the issue immediately over two weeks ago, but I have yet to receive a direct call back from the millwork/warranty department. I've had to repeatedly follow up myself, often speaking with the salesperson who originally helped me, who has been kind but clearly stuck in the middle. I was told someone would contact me and even that an email chain with Andersen Corporation would be forwarded to me--but I never received anything. Instead of getting help from the store, I was told to contact the manufacturer myself. At this point, I've had to arrange and pay $150 out-of-pocket to fix a door that is still under warranty, simply because I have an upcoming gathering and need it working. This experience has been frustrating and disappointing. When you make a large purchase, you expect support if something goes wrong--especially under warranty. Unfortunately, that hasn't been the case here. I hope management addresses these communication and follow-up issues so other customers don't have the same experience. read more

Had a massive issue with the Rental Dept. who allowed faulty equipment from prior inspection be issued to us (Drywall Sander / Drywall Vacuum.) After being issued this equipment, they sent us to Spotsylvania store to pick up the additional accessories needed. After attempting to use this equipment, it failed. This was in the first 3 minutes of booting up the machine (could smell the burnt motor almost immediately.) Of course, upon return today I addressed these issues with their Assistant Store Manager, Eric E., who was less than unhelpful. Not only did he double down on the fact I should have contacted the Store within 2 hrs of the unit not working, not realizing or listening to to me tell him I did NOT receive a contract. This got better after I then explained for an additional charge (Damage Protection) without verbally being made aware of it (Need to brush up on his consumer law / REQUIRED verbal items during rentals.) His response - "Well, you should've read the prompts." Again, going back to my point that all of this was supposed to be discussed per the consumer act and training of Home Depot (confirmed via Corporate.) Fun fact - Only refunded for the Sander, not the Vacuum that was not used/needed after, but also told me next time review the fine print (never received the contract - can be verified via camera footage during my rental.) Absolute joke of a Manager / Store Leader to operate with such lack of knowledge to then stand by the process/charge. Best part is the associate working today CONFIRMED there was an issue and it should've never have gone out. Embarrassing to say the least. Will be filing with the consumer act as well. read more

My experience at this Home Depot was magical because while I was looking around the store for a certain adapter, a worker happened to walk by and asked if we needed something, and when I showed him, he had the exact item I needed in hand. Quite magical, if I may add. I have never seen that happen before; he must be Harry Potter in disguise. Came in to rent equipment today after both calling and checking the website and both saying a valid driver license was required. I waited in line and presented my Florida license with a military extension clearly showing it was valid until 90 days after ending military service or returning to Florida. It is valid under real id. I have my military ID confirming I am still active duty. They refused to accept it because they are unable to verify it using an airport app. I'm not at an airport, I'm at a hardware store. Their main issue is that unlike at the airport where they can scan both the ID and Extension card, they are only able to scan one. They are physically able to see the cards and verify that it is not expired but refuse to help. They are saying that they cannot override without corporate approval and corporate is saying they are able to override but wouldn't. They have given me the run around and delayed my entire project. read more

Don't waist your money on the warranty and i will tell you why. We bought an extended warranty threw Home depot because we have had issues with new appliances in the past. We got the warranty for our GE dishwasher and as we expected the dish washer broke about 7 months into ownership. Here we go, this gets WILD SO READ ON. I called the warranty department and spoke with a lady about my issue, she asked the normal things (name, address, model number, serial number etc) after giving her the info she says" oh it looks like you cancelled your extended warranty, and with our my copy she can't go any further " i said " i most ABSOLUTELY did not cancel it, and i still have my warranty paperwork to prove it. (Make sure you keep your warranty paperwork) I'm sure she was hoping i didn't have it. Their shady tactic #1. Once i give her this mysterious warranty number she says "oh yes i see it now, let me transfer you to a technician hold please. Im thinking ok cool we are getting somewhere. WRONG. Shady tactic #2 this is where it gets wild After being on hold for about a minute THE SAME LADY picks up the phone and says "warranty technician how may i help you" i said "i just talked to you, you said you would put me on hold for a technician " she says " we never spoke before " i said are you kidding me, i have been talking to you for the last 10 minutes, you ARE the same person i can even hear the same background noise (people talking in the background in heavy middle Eastern accents) she said " hi this is tech support " i said " ok ill play your game eventhough we just spoke ".so i explained what's wrong with the machine " i told her its not draining water after its cycle. She had me do the old turn off the breaker and turn it back on routine. I did it and it fixed nothing. Shady tactic #3 She said ok send a picture of your warranty paperwork along with the receipt . I said you all already have it in your system, you even told me that after i gave you the warranty info... then she says "oooh thats right" i quickly said "see i told you we just spoke"!!! She then tried to change her voice to sound like a man IN MID SENTENCE, and said that wasn't me". My mind was blown at this point. I said "look i just need this fixed , you have all my info lets get it done" . She said ok the tech will call to set up the appointment. That was weeks ago... i have called 3 times since then and each time they say " its in the investigation department " My guess is they plan on keeping it there, so they will just hear from me daily and be on a 1st name basis read more

Well it has not gotten better. Still feel dirty. This time I went in to find an item the website said they had. A quick release trailer hitch pin. $10 item which you would think would be either near the lawn tractor section or trailer hitch section. I first went to the lawn tool section near the john deere tow behind accessories. No luck... so I asked someone there stocking the shelves. They said it would be outside by the pull behind loaders (wheel barrels for riding mowers). Nope. I asked that oitdoor person who sent me to aisle 14... which I discocered on my own he was really trying to send me to aisle 15 because that is where the trailer accesories are... but not this one. So I went back to Customer Service who after looking at me like I was crazy sent me to tool rental and told me... that is where they keep All the trailer stuff (which I alresdy knew was not accurate cause I just came from Aisle 15 that had some.) So I went to tool rental.. walking into the archway set off the loud CHIME bell indicating a customer (or thief) has entered the high value item area... eyes up folks. However no one was there... i walked in and out 3 times to get that bell ringing a lot in hopes someone would come by and make sure I wasnt putting a Stump Grinder or Bobcat in my pants. But no one. After ten minutes waiting I wondered up and down the two really dirty aisles in this secure oasis and finally found trailer stuff and even pins.... but you gyessed it... not the one on the website. A few minutes later Home Depot Rental Guy showed up and search his Home Depot computrr for my item... wheich when I googled the phrase.. trailer hitch pin was one of the first three items to show up on their web page... but on his designated computer. 212 items were displayed and none of them seemed trailer related.... and after scanning.4 items per page and nexting to the fifth page he gave up... telling me they dont stock what I am looking for. I stsrted tonwalk away... and one young kid who owns an atv heard my plight and took me.over to lawn and garden indoor near the Weed Wacker String and WALA there it was. 38 minutes later and four back and forth trips from end to end... it took another customer to help me buy something from Home Depot. read more

Last week I paid $3k for a riding mower with delivery scheduled for tomorrow. 30 mins after a confirmation message for delivery I received a phone call saying that they couldn't deliver it from some other store but I could rent a truck from them and pick it up myself. Just walked in to buy a ton of patio furniture for our pool. My wife and I found the sets we wanted and then set out on a journey to find someone to help us. After 30 minutes of asking for help we finally found someone.....But of course the set was out of stock. Sooo we set out to try and take apart the floor model. Then We find out there are no tools in a hardware store that can be used to take this thing apart. We politely gave up this effort and decided to just purchase the second set of furniture which were told were in stock and in the back. After 30 minutes of looking, we are told "I just cant find it." So my husband rented a cement mixer on July 10, from the tool rental side, well he remembers he had to pull up and felt something strange on the front of his truck, but didn't notice right away. Well, we did notice on July 16, that our front tag came off, and at 8:15pm I went up to the Home Depot and they remembered and described the tag and that took to customer service,,Well I waited for about 25 minutes and they couldn't find it, but the woman said they would return to the DMV, but she said she remembers just seeing the tag that day. Mind you this was just 6 days later, well I called on July 17 at 8:30 because they couldn't find it, and I was told they threw it away. And when we called back again later they said their policy is to keep the items for 30 days, well it was just 6 days and they tossed out. Well I purchased a washer & dryer from this location. Immediately realized that something was making noise. I was told to make a repair appt., but never got a call back to get it set up. Then went in to store and talked to Kellie. She was very helpful and got my appt. set. Technician comes out and says that the dryer had been dropped and the front feet were damaged and tells me to go back to HD to get he dryer exchanged. I go back to HD today, but since I signed for the delivery, they will not exchange the dryer. "There is nothing we can do!" Well I never thought I would say this, but go to Lowes. It has never worked better in my front door lock. It slides in so perfectly, it is just the perfect fit. She really knows how to make the best keys. After that, I headed to the lumber which by the way Mimi told me where to find that. I was ready to check out so, she checked me out. She asked me about a Home Depot credit card and I just could not pass it up. Her customer service was so amazing she just drew me right in. Went to Home Depot in Stafford with a major plumbing problem. Found an associate in plumbing department in aisle 10. Explained my problem to associate- his name is Fred-he took the time to listen to my problem- before I could finish explaining= he proceeded to explain in detail and even drew me a picture of what I needed to do. Home Depot boast of 10% military discounts and what they do for the military. I can tell you as a military veteran their claim is a farcade and a joke. They pick and choose what 10% the veteran recieves and normally the veteran is not aware in advance what the 10% goes toward, if at all received. Their online associates are also a joke. I asked one associate about water conditioner salt and the associate asked me is it a replacement item... SALT? Is this the best Home Depot can do? If you can Walk and Talk, then you are hired no matter if you can provide sound advice on whats to be purchased. I get better advice from 10 year olds. My husband and I purchased 38 cases polished porcelain floor tile at Stafford Va however when they delivery occurred 28 cases were tile with the wrong dye lot and therefore has to be returned and replaced with the correct tile. The tile were so different in colors and shading that they had to be replaced with the correct dye lot. Immediately upon discovering this issue went back to the store and notified Home Depot employee. First it was Steve White then Angela and then Lance. Always a different employee with none of them understanding the issue without a full explanation from us over and over again. There seems to be no mechanism to track a customer issue so that employees understand and can help customer. Angela and Lance argued that it was our fault that Home Depot delivered the wrong tile and that there was nothing they could do. Ultimately Angela and lance agreed to try and find the correct dye lot and replace the wrong tile. After 2 days and with no satisfaction, I personal called all the Home Depot throughout Northern Virginia, Maryland and Baltimore and finally located enough the correct tile at the Glen Bernie Maryland Home Depot. The happened even though Lance assured ya that he would try himself to locate the correct tile. When the correct tiles were delivery and while we were installing them a contracted truck came to our home UNANNOUNCED and took 1/2 pallet fo the CORRECT TILE back to the Stafford store with the intention of picking up the WRONG TILE. Just prior us to calling the police thinking we have been robbed my husband went back to the stafford sore and discovered my 1/2 pallet sitting at the back corner of the stores. When My husband notified Lance and Angela of this they wanted to charge me $200 to have these tile redelivered. My husband explain that this would be outrageous that we would have to pay for their mistake. My husband have to pick up some of the tile himself to take back to our home in order to continue to have it installed. The remaining tiles were redelivered later the same nite. Meantime the wrong tiles (28cases) are still at our home even after over a week for them to be picked up. My husband even called off work in the middle of the day waiting for the truck to come after Angela called me and my husband at work but the truck never arrived. As I am writing this review the wrong tiles are still at our home waiting to be picked up. We are extremely disappointed and have had our home disrupted for 3 weeks over the time it should have taken to have this flooring installed. This is all due to the Home Depot Stafford employees lack of customer services. This has caused me added expenses due to the delays experienced while running out of this. I wrote this review in order for Home Depot Stafford to understand that their employee are not trained or just aren't willing to provide any reasonable customer service after the sale!!! read more

You always want to take advantage of the sales if you have to spend money, but I have worked with Bruce twice now and I have to give him his props. I was directed to the Stafford Home Depot from Manassas to purchase tile. I checked online and it said they had 60 tiles in stock, after 1 hour commute my husband and I could only locate 37 tiles. When we attempted to get help from a associate in the flooring department we were told we had to wait and the tile may be located in another area. The employee then left to help another customer and 45 minutes later I am still waiting. The customer service at this location is horrible and stock online is not correct. read more

The Home Depot in Stafford VA (Store #4637) provided the worst customer interaction from Angela the Customer Order Specialist to the Home Depot contract Installers (RF Installation -installed door). Angela was extremely unprofessional, uninformed and rude. From the beginning of the installation process between Home Depot, the contractor and the customer (us) was unacceptable. The first time the contractor showed up, he said he was not told there was a storm door, so he could not install the door b/c Home Depot did not inform him (waited weeks for the door) and the door was not installed on that day. The next time the contractor showed up, he solicited $200 ($40 tip) cash from us directly. The issue - after he removed the front door (appx 6 ft) he stated the wood on the door entry way had termite damage and he would have to "stop work" and Home Depot would charge $500 for him to board the door space up until issue was resolved. We were at a standstill as the door was wide open, flies were abundant and it was over 95 degrees outside - we paid him the money. Before he left, there were divers (plugs) that were required to be installed in the door, first he said "the painter had to do install," which made no sense b/c we were not painting the inside of the door. Contacted his field manager Kevin, that said he would send the guy back and he would install the plugs. When the contractor showed up again, he refused and said he did not know how to install the 14 divets (plugs) to cover the screws in the inside door. Also, he failed to (purposely by his own admission) did not screw all the screws in each of the 3 hinges that came with the door - each hinge was missing a screw for a total of 3 empty screw holes on the 3 hinges (1 for each hinge)- he said the screws were too long and he might damage the door, but the acknowledged the screws were supposed to go into the door b/c they were included w/the door by the door company. My husband and I spoke and filed a complaint with Store #4637 Operations Manger (Joseph "Joe" Bell) and explained all that happened thus far and that when I attempted to speak with Angela (my husband has dealt with her through this process, with substandard success (he thought she was a manager) she got hostile and walked off. I requested to speak w/her manager, but she flagged some guy down and started to complain to him, so at that time, we requested to speak with the store manager that was off, so we got Joe. This has been never-ending process for one door install. Today, we initially attempted to resolve the contractor issue and remaining work for the door with Angela, she stated that the customer was supposed to install the plugs (our independent contractor as well as the RF installation contractor both agreed that the plugs have to be installed a certain way). Angela stated that she just "freezes them" before she installs them - it made absolutely no sense, so I offered that she could install them, she got upset and walked off. Joe called my husband back after we visited the store and explained all the issues with him and Joe stated the owner of RF installation would like to come and repair the door issues, but requested that I (his wife) not be present (in my own home), which is discriminatory, insulting and disrespectful. Not to mention, I have never spoken with the owner of the company and there was never a problem until discrepancies were voiced to the contractor and Angela and Joe. When my husband explained that was unacceptable, Joe stated they wanted to deal with my husband because he signed the contract. The entire time the contractor was on site, he spoke with me and now that there is a problem - they do not want to deal with me - after I explained to Joe that we did not, under any circumstances want the contractor back at our house. The contractor and Angela clearly have a working relationship as expected as they work together I would imagine on various Home Depot contracts and both have been giving my husband the runaround (storm door problem, termite problem, French door problem, dives problem) or over a month. I told the contractor that we would eliminate the middle man (him) and deal with Home Depot directly. By the time we arrived at Home Depot, he had already spoke with Angela and she was ABSOLUTELY useless. I could go on and on, but we cancelled all pending orders we had with Home Depot and after/when the door is corrected, we will never shop at Home Depot again- ever. We will shop at Lowes from now on. We are good customers and good people, it is unfortunate that Home Depot partners with RF installations and employs employees such as Angela. My impatience is warranted and customer service should always be the most important policy for a company - our experience with this particular Home Depot is beyond repairable. Just want them to complete the service paid for and we will not visit the store again. read more

Very bad experience at the Stafford VA Home Depot today. The Home Depot website indicated that a product was in stock at the Stafford store, eleven units. When I took the ten mile trip whose purpose was to buy the product, I could not find it. I told a sales associate what I was looking for, and she confirmed via their automated inventory system that it was in stock. She looked for it, could not find it, told me, started to look a bit more, and then disappeared, without telling me she was leaving me. Another sales associate inquired of me, and started to look for the item, and she also disappeared without telling me. For another 15 minutes, I continued to look for the product and the two employees, no luck. There was no indication on the product shelves that any such product was on the sales floor, no price or product label in the logical area. The customer service desk was backed up, even though the store in general was not busy at all. No sense waiting on that line to tell them how poor the Home Depot performance had been. I left, and went home and rechecked the Home Depot inventory, and they still had it listed as having eleven units in stock. Strike one: Product listed as being in inventory, but not found on floor. Strike two: Employees can't find product, and then stop assisting me without even telling me. Strike three: No evidence product is out on the floor at all, as there are no labels or prices of the product shown on the shelves. Strike four (bonus screw up): Customer service desk backed up, no help possible there. Strike five (another bonus screw up): Later in afternoon the Home Depot inventory system still shows the store in Stafford has the item in stock, in spite of the above mentioned fiasco. I can't say I am a huge volume Home Depot customer, but they have done alright by me,,,,,,,,,,,up to now. I'm a local contractor who shops here regularly. I spend about 10 grand a year at this store. Only have two choices and I don't like Lowe's store layout. I'm currently waiting in the dark on my customers porch for a drywall delivery that should have been here on Friday but here we are on Tuesday evening. My job is now behind by 2.5 days but Home Depot could care less about the money they are costing me. Spoke to a manager named Lance about 3 hours ago and he said he would look at my order and call me back. After 1 hour I called again and he was busy but customer service said he would call me in 10 min. Still waiting Lance. It was probably the guy who drives the floor sweeper and they all had a big chuckle about it. This store wastes my time on a regular basis and could care less. Every try to pick up a special order in under an hour? Its like the guy unloading the truck gets some guilty pleasure about hiding it in the store. They can never find it! What kind of inventory management system do you use? Only one guy ever knows where it is and he is always on break. The stock is always off too. And we aren't talking small items. I've gone there for deck stain and it says they have 12 gallon cans in stock and they have none. That's like half a pallet off?! Unless you're a woman with a large home depot credit line don't expect much from this location. Not being sexist but HD knows who drives the home improvement projects in the household. Got in early before the contractors came in so it was pretty dead. The one thing I really liked was that the cashiers were standing in front of their respective lines waiting for people to come. Good job Home Depot! read more

I prefer Lowes, but the selection at this store isn't bad and the employees are all very helpful.

Passing by and needed paint, landscaping, and light bulbs. Kevin in light bulbs was very helpful. Although Home Depot didn't carry what I was looking for, he looked all over to make sure they didn't get a new product in he didn't know about. The guys in paint were knowledgeable and helped out. I did self checkout, and the associate tending that area was friendly and engaged me to wish me a good day as I left. Good experience here....too bad this is not the closest Home Depot to my house. read more
