Never thought I'd be reviewing a Home Depot, but I am blown away by the great customer experience I had here last week. I was here to buy some pavers with a friend when an employee in the Garden/Outdoor Section saw us starting to load our cart with them. Jeff made sure that we had help packing up our cart and also was a great quality control person (as a lot of these pavers were broken, we were very specific). My friend and I are pretty small in size (lol) so he made sure that we got assistance after check-out with loading it into our car. This guy is wonderful and attentive! I really appreciate him taking the time to help us out from start to finish. This positive interaction at a Home Depot definitely made my day. Thank you Jeff! read more

Usually the service is not so great but last night was exceptionally great! There is an employee named Moose who stopped what he was doing to help us get a pot from the garden section. Once in the cart he amass a huge black widow. He not only took it out of the cart, squished the spider but then rinsed the entire pot out and price matched for us! During this crazy times people people can be so mean but here at this Home Depot ever single staff I've talked to has not just been nice but out of their way helpful. From the garden center to inside the store. On top of that Edgar (whom I met for the first time that day) has such a beautiful heart. Some places I feel like I'm welcoming the employee into the store nowadays & then catch myself & think, "Wait, I'm the customer. Why aren't they asking me these questions." I'd purchased some hole dozers and was damaged, so I wanted to make a return or exchange, but was told by their return department today in the morning that they don't accept any return form Milwaukee brand and I needed to contact the manufacturer directly for that, and yes its still under the 90 return policy on the receipt. I'll start off with the return I had to do. We bought 2 bulbs to replace for our outdoor lights, both of them did not work so we came in to exchange them. Jo "greeted" us at the register with an attitude like no other for some reason (maybe she didn't get any last night, who knows) After her comment of, "Well maybe all of our bulbs don't work." we left and went on to doing what we came to do. When we walked back up to the register she was helping another lady that had just spent around $2k. The amount of ass kissing she was doing was out of this world. Biggest brown nose in the world stands at the 1st return register, let me tell ya! Unless you're putting out money, she'll look at you like the gum on the bottom of her shoe. It doesn't matter how much a customer is paying, without them, you have no job... Larry was so much help, I came in with a question for the garden area on a plant I see while I take my morning walk and he wasn't entirely sure what it was so he took us over to the computer and did a search. i have t ogive this location a fair rating based on all experiences here, and I will say my last visit raised their rating significantly. My daughter had a project for physics class and I needed stuff so off I went to Home Depot. They staff was great, they helped me find what I needed, checked in on if i needed anything else. the most helpful of all was the maintenance guy that was pushing a broom, he knew where everything was and made sure that I found what I needed. After I got everything for buttercup's physics project, I decided to stop by the garden section for some basil for my garden. There was none on the shelves, but the guy ws there restocking everything. So the lady went and found me basil and let me pick out the best one. Great experience and very helpful. read more

I've been waiting for two days now for a delivery. Due to their 14 hour delivery windows that's 28 hours of wait time. Now they tell me I have to wait around all day again Monday. And if I want to cancel I have to go into the store to get a refund. Worst customer service ever. read more

Of course if you love your dog too much, instead of just buying your dog a dog house, you want to build your spoiled dog a dog house!!! We decided to go to Home Depot one Saturday and build everything from scratch. We bought full sheets of wood. roofing material, lined it with carpet tiles for insulation, picked up a doggy door, wood glue, nails, everything. We had a good idea of what we needed, but it's always good to ask the helpful people at home depot as well! Because we wanted an outdoor house (especially if it's cold or if it starts raining), we wanted to have proper roofing shingles. But because we are only building a dog house, we didn't need a giant roll of roofing underlayment (basically a black sheet that goes under your roofing shingles, so it's more water proof and protects the roof/ceiling), and so I asked Roger if Home Depot sells like "scrap" roofing underlayment since we only need like 4 sq. feet of it. We explained to him what we were trying to do, and he said because he loves dogs too, he gave us a discount for the roll! Also, we needed to buy sheets of wood! The sheets are like 4x8' - so they are LARGE and be careful of sprinters. And what happens when you drive a 4-door sedan? Home depot can cut it for you for free! Tip: you probably need to cut it into equal 4 pieces to get it through to your truck and put your back seats down. We only cut it in half the first time, and we went to pay, and realized we needed to half those just to get it in the car. But don't worry -- they are so helpful, and you can tell them what the measurements you need for the cut. And it's a free service they do for you. You just ask for someone in the back aisle, and they have an industrial wood cutter there. When we were also there, they had a dumpster with wood scraps that they said we can even take any wood scraps we want for future projects! So I got really excited about that -- we found some good pieces! Obviously, it's a home depot, and you pretty much expect what the prices are and what is in stock, but I wanted to note the excellent service we got!! I think about 4 or 5 people helped me, and everyone was wonderful! I will come back just for future DIY home projects!! read more

I love coming to Home Depot because quite honestly I love their Garden Center. I enjoy strolling down each aisle sometimes more than once. Their beautiful selection of plants, flowers, and trees are extremely well taken cared of. They've also got a stunning collection of planters. They even have every type of fertilizer for your specialized planting needs. In addition, they have an excellent selection of pavers and gated material. We even found items that could make our jacuzzi a little more jazzy. Although my husband is in it for the home repair items along with their tools and screws, I'll always tag along just so I could hang out to see what new plant I want to get. read more

I wish I could give this place -5 stars. This Home Depot is seriously sh*t. I bought a washer & dryer on 9/30 to have it delivered 10/20. The delivery team bolted the washer to the dryer and moved it to the side. My contractor did the connection on a later date. My house construction completed on 11/10 so it was not until 11/12 I was able to try the machines out. My washer shakes violently. It shook so hard it came out of the nook it was placed in (contractor built an area where a standard stackable washer and dryer fit) and spilled the two, large stacked appliances into the hallway. Had my daughter been there... she would have been seriously hurt. I called in and talked to store manager Brian/Bryan. He's very rude, condescending and likes to speak over people. I am sure he believes he has won that right with making $50K a year managing a retail store. You go, Bryan/Brian. He told me someone would call me the next day to service my item. Can you believe it? They are servicing a product that did not work the first day it was turned on. The product is not even 2 weeks old and they have to service it. Why? Because HOME DEPOT ONLY HAS A TWO DAY RETURN POLICY. YUP! Ask Brian the almighty store manager. You can ask Ryan at customer service too. He has no idea about the products they sell. He says GE comes out to fix Whirlpool washers "or whatever". Also, if your items go on sale, you have 48 hours to price match, if they want to. It's the customer service department's discretion. PLEASE DO NOT BUY ANYTHING FROM HOME DEPOT. WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE BY A LANDSLIDE. GO TO BEST BUY! BEST BUY IN WESTMINSTER RETURNED MY DEFECTIVE REFRIGERATOR AND GOT ME A NEW ONE DELIVERED A WEEK LATER. HARDLY ANY QUESTIONS ASKED! HOME DEPOT SUCKS! Wow! In all my years and all the Home Depots I've ever been to, I have never had such amazing, outstanding, excellent, service. There were so many helpful employees, from Austin in the Garden Center who walked us to the plants we were looking for and even came back later to find us, to point out additional plants... Nathan who went through a full description on the shelving section and pointing us to the website where we can virtually build our closet... To Mia who saw me struggling with my items and went outside to grab a cart for me... I'm speechless. I guess the best way I can show my appreciation would be to tell all my friends to come to THIS specific location and... I will only come here from now on. Employees were amazing. I felt cared for. DO NOT GO HERE FOR KEYS. TERRIBLE, judgmental service. I had the misfortune of wasting 30 mins of my time at this Home Depot with a associate whom spent exceptionally long cutting a key and making meaningless small talk with customers while not acknowledging the other patrons in line to let us know we were in fact waiting. I was "informed" that I could not have a key cut here. I was "informed" because customers complain about the keys not working they don't cut them.....? Seriously? Not only have I had this exact same service provided by other obviously more knowledgeable Home Depot locations I spoke with customer service before arriving to ensure i did not waste my time. Spoiler alert. I STILL wasted my time. After speaking to a manager Aaron who looked me in my eye and lied claiming that Home Depot does not cut keys that "COULD" have a transponder since neither my original nor replacement key has one. Either Home Depot has recently gotten in bed with auto companies to give them their key customers back or Home Depot is doing a poor job with training of management and resolution of customer issues. How refreshing to visit this Home Depot in Stanton. I have written a review of the Anaheim Home Depot here that is very negative and 100% earned by them, so I was expecting the worst here... but pleasantly surprised on my visit to this store. Would someone please take those Anaheim Home Depot employees, put them in a bus, and drive them to this store? PLEASE? Let them see that it IS possible to greet customers throughout their visit, not just hand them a flyer at the door and look blankly at them... it IS possible to find new, non-returned merchandise for sale out on the sales floor... it IS possible to keep the employees upright and moving instead of droning, stepford-wifeing it through their workday. I was greeted by exactly FIVE employees today while pushing my cart around the store. FIVE! Each in a different department, and each looked like they had things to do, but could be asked for help if needed. And they indeed had every item I came for. 100% shopping list completion. That has never happened in the Anaheim Home Depot... not even once. My little sale was under $150, but I do it most every week. I live next door to the Anaheim Home Depot and literally drive around it and then another 7 miles to go to Lowe's, but now that I found I can shop at this store, I think I will. read more

Home Depot gives homeowners the chance to do things themselves... With that being said, I never had a bad experience here. Service is excellent and I always have answers to any of my questions. Since Lowe's closed by me, this is the closest DIY home improvement store. For the future, I hope to complete some of my own renovations and I'm sure to buy products here. I also love their garden area. It's very neat, organized, and so much variety. Spring season is definitely the best! They do sell dragonfruit and jujubes here too. After buying a house, I've spent more time here. More than any other stores. Sad... really. From the obscured amount of social life I once had.. to "what social life?!" haha I have spent so much time here that people've started to come up to me and ask questions. No lie. Patron: "excuse me? Where are the galvanized bolts?" Me: "aisle 10, left side, bottom shelf" (I'm so pathetic..) Patron: "how should I plant azalea?" Me: "azalea does not belong to our climate zone. Plant it in a shady spot; before you plant it, make sure you create a well drainage area; don't over water but keep the ground moist" Whaaaa the hell?! How do I know these things?! Home Depot might as well give me one of their aprons and a name badge. It would say "DIY wannabe" Anyways, back to my fun Saturday. I wanted to change my toilet and if you don't really pay attention, there are about 30 to choose from. It's like buying a new car. It has to be the right one. i'm going to use it for a very long time. A very nice young lady (all tatted out) helped me to choose and showed me how to install it. I had to ask "sweetie, you're only in your 20's something. How do you know so much about crappers?" anyways, I took her words for it. And I don't think Home Depot would like it if I have to return it; all messed up ......and tested. the installation went exactly like what she'd told me but it took me 4 hours longer than predicted. I love home Depot in general, but had a horrible experience at this location. In fairness, it was an error by one employee, but the attitude problem then ran throughout the management. Instead of trying to make the customer fell better, the manager opted to back his employee instaed, and treat me like an idiot. Rightfully so, since I was an idiot to believe in this place. Here's what happened: We called on a Fri afternoon and ASKED if we could reserve a truck for 2pm the following day. We had to pick up a large appliance in Stanton, and wanted to cover the bases ahead of time. Supposed to pick it up at 2:15. I don't live near here. Was told it was reserved for 2pm. Was NOT told it would be a first come, first serve situation. Was NOT told "please hold this with your credit card." Was simply quoted a price, and agreed upon a time. Showed up on time. Unfriendly employee#1 said "The truck just left 10 minutes ago". I asked "what time is my name written down for?" He looks at the computer and said "2 O'clock" Me: "And what time did the truck leave?" Unfriendly employee#1: "Oh. Well, it's first come first serve". I wont bore you with all the details - just know that the truck was out for 3 hours, not the 1 hour I was told, and I ended up wasting a hole day. Eventually I went and got a truck in Garden Grove. The manger was uncaring, with more interest in "Who told you that? we don't do it that way" Than "I'm so sorry for the misunderstanding." I chalk it up to poor management, poor employee skills, and a pooooor experience. Last time ever to step foot into Home Depot in Stanton. read more

What the heck happened here? When this HD opened a few years ago, it was a welcome relief. I drove out of my way to visit this Home Depot because the Cypress shop just absolutely craps on you when it came to customer assistance. Little by little though, as time progressed, the customer service at the Stanton shop slid downhill. It got to be the same old thing: You had to know what you were looking for. If you didn't, you were S-O-L. Good luck chasing down help or even worse, help that knew what the heck they were talking about. While the tool rental shop here was pretty good, everything else was just hit or miss. It seems the pendulum has swung the other way. My recent visit to this store was startling, to say the least. As my petite, red headed, passion flower and I walked through this shop, we fought off flying body tackles from every aisle we walked through. This was not only noticeable, but overwhelming to a certain extent. In fact, after about 15 minutes, it was almost a pain in the ass. In the electrical section, we had help from no less than 4 people, all who were knowledgeable and eager to assist. And if they didn't know the answer, they chased down someone who did. I even asked one of the underpaid, over-qualified kids working this shop: What up with the customer service over-kill? The impression I got after our conversation was that Home Depot is reeling the customer service thing back in. Making a better effort to assist the customer. Good for Stanton Home Depot. Every time when I go to different Home Depot, I have to talk to store manager for bad service. This time Anthony and Nick were awesome. He took his time with us and walked us to each department that we needed something from. Today I went to buy couple items and found out that one of the products was priced wrong. Christine was very polite and went to talk to the same department to honor me the wrong price. She came back and she wasn't able to do it. I asked for store manager and they didn't bother to argue with me. They honored the price. Whoever runs this store has trained associates very well. They have some of the nicest associates from all the Home Depot's I've been to. They know how to treat their customers. Always great customers service. Purchased a top loading LG washer and dryer from this location, changed my mind and decided to purchase a front loading LG washer. Everything went a-ok. Had a slight problem with cancelling and re-ordering but they got it done. However, upon shipping, the delivery guy delivered all 4 units! I should have said yes and kept all 4. But wasn't thinking at the time and said, no I only ordered the 2. They installed the washer but the dryer had to go back since it was dented. After a couple days they came back and installed the dryer and left. Upon further inspection, they hose connecting to the vent was half-ass installed. It was basically venting hot air to my garage instead of out. I had to redo the installation myself. It was a pita since the dryer barely fit the base it was sitting on. I had to cut some plywood so that the dryer would have all 4 of it's feet on something instead of the front 2 sticking out of the wooden base. After it was all said and done, it was good to go. ---------------------------------- Now the reason for the 2 star review was for the way their employees treated me last Sunday (8/11/2013). I purchased some shower knobs, it was an open package, but didn't think anything would be wrong with it. Took it back and tried to install it, but couldn't because it was missing 2 metal clamps. I went back to home depot for an even exchange and had to wait 45 minutes because 3 of the employees had to "investigate" the product I was returning. LOL! First, the girl called for someone in "plumbing". It took about 15 minutes for someone to finally get here and take a look. He opened the package and looked at for about 5 seconds and said "Nope, this is not the right knobs". Don't issue a refund. WTF? So I had to explain to the girl that this is the exact knobs I had purchased. She said, "No, this is not what our expert in plumbing said". We think you made a switch and cannot issue you a refund. I said, "excuse me, but I am requesting an exchange", this one doesn't work with my shower." So, the girl had to make another call. We waited and waited. I got sick of waiting and said, "why don't you just head over to aisle 7 and grab the same package and compare it." What's so hard about that? She finally got her lazy butt over there and grabbed a package with the same part number. And what do you know? It was in fact the same stupid knobs. Your expert in plumbing is an idiot. Making judgement w/o proof. What? Just because I'm Asian you think and pulled a switcheroo? So they open the new package to compare the contents and I was correct, I was missing 2 metal brackets. That's when one of the employees says, "okay, it's the same knob, but we're missing this part". Yeah, no sh*t sherlock. I pointed that out 2 seconds ago dips*t. Hence the reason for my return. What? You think I stole that part? This is a freaking $18 knob. Why go through all this trouble? I returned a $400 water heater 2 months ago at a different location and didn't get drilled like this. I even dented it and scratched it. LOL They accepted the return and I bought a smaller unit. So after going back and forth, they agreed to an even exchange. No refund. I said fine. Instead of giving me the new knob, they grabbed the 2 metal brackets and slipped it in the old package. Off I went to my car. Took a look and guess what, now it's messing the 2 plastic piece and the screws. They forgot to put it back in. Went back inside and got it and went home. Tried to install the knobs again and guess what? One of the metal brackets is missing a screw! WTF? Long story short, I went to the Home Depot on Garden Grove Blvd instead. They gave me a full refund after waiting in line for 30 because this white guy in front was returning a cart full of random parts. White people these days. WTH man. Got my refund, went to purchase a different knob and this one works perfectly. The return process at the Garden Grove Blvd location was painless. The employees were more friendly than the one in Stanton. There are a bunch of stuck-up Hollywood wannabees in the Stanton Location. Friendly staff. Loved the service in the tool rental section. But poor enforcement of the face covering rule. Supposedly required as of Wednesday this week but when I was in there on Thursday I saw a person without a mask on walk right up to two associates who he must have known, because they did the elbow bump greeting. So no face mask and no social distancing. When I said something the two associates gave me a blank stare, even after I confirmed with them that it is now store policy to require face covering. Even though some of the guys who work the lot aren't really interested in working there is always someone who makes that person do the work and give you top notch customer service. Mike in the electrical section is so knowledgeable and so friendly and will not let you go until he's answered ALL your questions and then some. I think not. Set it up for 9/29. Received email saying it was out for delivery. No show by 3:30. Called and was told it was set up for deliver 9/30. Why the email then? Good customer services are expected by all workers, but more so from Assistant Managers if anything. I have no problem with the workers there at this Home Depot, they're friendly and super nice. The problem I have with is the Assistant Manager. His name is Aaron Rodriquez. How dare you have the audacity to yell at a customer when he, my husband, was at right and remained calm with you at all times??!!! We brought our lawn mower in for diagnostic. We were told that there's a fee of $18.95 for them to tell us what's wrong with our lawn mower. Once after doing the diagnostic, they will tell us how much it'll cost to fix the mower. Now, two days later you call in to tell me you don't know what's going on with the mower and still wants to charge me for it? That is absolutely absurd!! If you charge me to diagnose my mower, you have to....HAVE TO...know what the hell is wrong with it. Don't go and take people's tools to "try" to fix, in other terms; leave it there and scratch your ass to collect their money and say, "sorry, I don't know what happened to your tool. So will that be credit, debit or cash?" Seriously??? So my husband went in calmly to talk to the Assistant Manager to explain to him the situation and he, Aaron Rodriquez, raised his voice with him. My husband's response was, "sir, your raising your voice with me while I'm calmly talking to you." That's when he calmed down. Was that necessary?? Mr. Rodriquez, u sir are lucky you did not encounter me. I'm much more feisty than my husband. How dare you??!!!! So people, I would not.....let me reiterate that....WOULD NOT take my tools in to this store for service if I were you. If you want to throw away money, give it to someone else because the guy working in this store not only will F' (excuse my language) up your equipment more, but he'll send a dirtbag Assistant Manager to yell at you. All in all, I'm waiting for the Manager to come back from vacation to see what he has to say. I'll update in two weeks after talking to him. I was told his name is Mike Flack. Home Depot is HD... nothing special about the employees or selection. HD just happens to be close to our office.
