Exactly what I was looking for....

No need to go to Hawaii. Everything Hawaiiana is right here at Konishi Plumeria in Cypress CA. It was by pure luck that I found David posting his knowledge of the plumeria plants and flowers on FB. I was totally intrigued and was looking for an appropriate dish or vase to preserve the fragrant blossoms of my plant in the backyard. I immediately saw the donut looking ceramic vase in assorted colors. After chatting and getting to know more about the plants and Hawaiian articles as well as colorful clothing, I learned that my plumeria is most likely of the sweet fragrant "Gardenia" type. It was suggested that the shiny black donut dish would serve me best. The lovely missus will love the sample 5 petal flower I received with my purchase and I will get the vase filled with my own at home. With so many Art and articles and just Hawaiian fun things/souvenirs, I was shown by Arlene behind the counter, a "Cook Street" Hawaiian print shirt of great value that for sure will fit me. It was a real pleasure to have visited Konishi Plumeria and I know we will return. Hmmm, good to know that Konishi Island Fair is on 28th September.

What a hidden treasure! I stumbled upon this shop after dropping by the post office. The shopping center is hidden behind el pollo Loco. My neighbors all have plumeria trees and I've been wanting to get one myself. One offered to give me a piece but I never got around to it. Luckily I saw all the varieties of plumeria plants KONISHI's had. They have all sorts, colors, and sizes. Im all for shopping small/local. They had quite a few plants outside on a rack with healthy branches & leaves. Surprisingly they were priced at such a great value $12. They have larger plants inside for different prices but all very reasonable. The owner was very friendly and I will definitely be back for my plumeria needs. They also have other plants, Hawaiian accessories and fashion.

Finally got to stop by .... the store is located right next to the post office. Small place but everyone is super friendly, very nice and welcoming. I am more into succulents and cactus but it looks like they are plumeria speciality. Doesn't matter I found what I was looking for and more. Highly recommended for excellent service. We would definitely be back!!!

They hand picked a nice medium Purple Jack for me when they made their run to JJ. They let me know they got one and I went down to get it. Great service! Definitely recommend.

Absolutely love this place. David is one of the friendliest small business owners you will ever meet. I don't write a lot of reviews, but once in a while, I get hit with inspiration. I have been here a few times and each time has been better than the last. If you love plumerias or Hawaiian themed decor, this is definitely a place I think you should check out. Good prices, great conversation and even advice if you have a question on how to care for your plants. Lots of products at great prices: Coir for cutting & potting medium, rooting hormone, lots of pots, I could literally go on forever. He has some products he ships as well. We need to support our local small businesses and this is one I definitely feel deserves that business. Due to Covid please make sure to come with a mask. Konishi Plumeria is open from 10 AM - 6 PM, Tues-Sun.

Not long after planting, the tree didn't seem to be developing properly, so I stopped by looking for advice. The experience was disappointing. The employee helping me appeared visibly intoxicated in the middle of the day (someone I believe is connected to ownership, as I had met him during the purchase). He was unhelpful and dismissive, so I left without any real guidance. I continued trying to care for the tree, but within two months it died. When I returned to ask whether there was any warranty, replacement option, or even assistance toward purchasing a new tree, I was met by a rude employee who immediately became defensive, repeatedly emphasizing that they are a "family-owned business" while offering zero accountability or solutions. Instead, I was blamed for the tree dying, despite the fact that I had already come in previously asking for help. For a business that sells and installs expensive trees, I expected at least some level of customer service, support, or professionalism. Instead, I got poor advice, no accountability, and an overall hostile experience. I'll be taking my business elsewhere and would recommend others do the same. Update: After digging up the dead tree, it was obvious why it failed. The root ball was extremely tight and root-bound, likely from sitting too long in the nursery box. It only had two mature roots supporting it, and both had been cut during removal and installation. They also didn't use fresh soil when planting it, which gave it little chance to establish. I went to another family-owned nursery afterward, and the difference was clear--they stood behind their product and offered a one-year warranty.

When planting into the ground, to our dismay, there was rubbish all throughout the pot... so we had to wash off all the contaminated soil and plant it bareroot. Absolutely disgusting they grow their plants with toxic plastic mixed in! They probably get free compost from the city dumps or God knows. The soil was also full of artificial fertilizer pellets which likely contain plastic polymers. I contacted them and they offered a replacement - but, whats the point of that if their other plants are grown the same way. It was too much for me to drive back and deal with that, and I'd set a time to get this job done. Was a little in touch by text with them, they didn't offer any form of refund or discount for the crappy soil condition they sold it in or the trouble to remove it, just the message: "Good luck with the bare root." Also, the tree's root system was actually quite small, a 3-5 gallon pot would have been more than adequate vs a half-filled 15 gallon pot. All in all, way overpriced for this poor quality and hassle. 2 stars instead of 1 simply because it's difficult to find some of these tropical fruit trees and the Vietnamese ladies here were friendly in person. ‍ Hopefully the tree survives the transplant shock, if it doesn't, we will fight for a full refund.

I had been looking for a yuzu tree, and this was the only place that had one and it was already 4 feet tall and only $60! Citrus trees are hard to find in Orange County due to quarantine restrictions, and some cities are even banned from purchasing them. I was surprised to discover that Mimosa Nursery not only carries citrus trees but also yuzu specifically. Beyond citrus, they have an impressive selection of other fruit trees as well. I also picked up a 7-gallon Violette de Bordeaux fig tree for $65. While you might find some of these plants cheaper elsewhere, many of the fruit trees here are already fruiting or have been pruned to the size and shape of a tree, which means they are more developed than the typical seedlings sold at lower prices. Service is very straightforward - you're not going to spend half a day chatting it up with them here. I highly recommend checking out Mimosa Nursery if you're on the hunt for a specific fruit tree. I visited the store to return approximately $100 worth of garden supplies that I had purchased a few months ago after deciding not to move forward with our lawn renovation project. I had a clear copy of the original receipt saved on my phone, but I no longer had the credit card used for the purchase because it had been canceled due to fraudulent activity and replaced with a new card. After reviewing my receipt, the associate informed me that she was not permitted to scan a receipt from a phone and instead manually entered the information. When she attempted to process the return, the system rejected it. I asked whether she had contacted a manager, and she called someone named Mike to discuss the situation and describe the items being returned. When the call ended, I was told the return could not be approved and that I would need to provide both the original paper receipt and the original credit card, despite already providing my driver's license as requested. This policy seems inconsistent. Customers can make purchases using digital payment methods and cards stored on their phones, yet a digital copy of a valid receipt was not accepted for a return. Fortunately, I was eventually able to locate the original paper receipt. However, because it had been exposed to sunlight and handled over time, it was faded and difficult to read. Ironically, the clear and legible receipt on my phone was not considered acceptable. Even after producing the paper receipt, I was not refunded to my original form of payment. Instead, I was issued a gift card, effectively forcing me to spend the $100 at Home Depot rather than receiving a refund. To make matters worse, had there been any issue with the second transaction, I would not have been able to receive a refund for purchases made with the store-issued gift card. I understand the need for policies that prevent fraud, but in this case I provided a valid receipt, identification, and a reasonable explanation for why the original credit card was no longer available. The experience felt unnecessarily difficult and left me feeling as though a loyal customer was treated with suspicion rather than common sense.
