Bought a toolbox online to pick up at my local store. Somehow the store changed on my phone and sent the order to a store 75 miles away. I call customer service to change the pickup location and they cancel the order and tell me to reorder at the correct store. Thing is I had paid with a gift card so now I have to drive 150 miles round trip to get my refund. Ridiculous. There has to be a better way. Wish I was able to get back the time and gas money spent to fix this problem. Lowes fixed their issues with me and even gave me a discount. Do better read more

I went in to Home Depot to purchase a washer. I wanted one right away so I purchased one that they had in stock. It was supposed to be delivered in 2 days. The day before delivery the delivery date was changed to 5 days later because it was out of stock. I waited the 5 days only to have the delivery date changed again for 7 more days because It's still out of stock. Home Depot has deceptive./ dishonest sales practices. Purchased at Home Depot, Tacoma WA location last night 03.09.25, bought about 45pcs of bricks with me and 16yo daughter. The cashier lady said there will be staff taht would help us, she send 4 staff but none of these young guys helped me and my daughter loading of the bricks from our cart to our car. They are just standing outside and chatting to each other about the football ganes and watching us doing it all by ourselves. Not even asked if need help, so the reason the cashier send these staff was supposedly to help us but they just watched us and chatting to each other. If this location wasn't 1.5 miles from my house I'd honestly never go. There prices also usually beat Lowe's. Store pickup takes years. I've learned to just walk inside and get your order rather than wait for someone to bring it to your car. There inventory data is always inaccurate. Went in to rent a rototiller, got attitude from the get go with the woman at the desk. First it was state ID was invalid, then Military ID was invalid. After waiting a week and multiple calls trying to get a hold of management, they claimed to have trained everyone on the details of both IDs being valid in circumstances. Claimed since it was over a week ago they couldn't offer anything else. This was all after talking to three employees on the phone, one who said the store manager was on lunch, the second said she (the managers name) didnt work there, and third finally managed to find said store manager. Store usually was a good experience, now I recommend avoiding it at all costs. read more

I have to share my experience today at this store. I went to return/warranty a Milwaukee 1/4 in impact and I went to the return counter at 8:50 pm July 13 2024. I'm writing the time and date I did since I did not get both of the ladies' name that were at the counter. The first older white woman who attended me at the counter looked puzzled when I asked if I can warranty the impact and she did clearly say that this was a first time doing a warranty process. She asked the other lady who looked like from hispanic ethnicity for help and she asked me if I bought the product with the home depot credit card and to that I said yes. I had the receipt on my phone but they refused to do the exchange for me even though I had proof of purchase and insisted on me to do it through the all state protection plan which I had. So I left the store and decided to drive to the Puyallup home depot (where I had bought the impact from) and an extremely nice lady by the name of Sharyn helped me and like no joke in 5 minutes I had my new drill and on was on my way out :). I almost always usually go to the Tacoma location for my purchases but service today was bad for me. I know they could do better next time but today I have to give my props to the Puyallup location and their wonderful employee Sharyn outshined the Tacoma location. read more

Therefore, we asked a customer representative at the front for assistance c: The guy was kind enough to point the direction to the station and even called assistance to help as we walked over. There was a lady that met us at the station, kindly waited while my sister was taking a long time to choose which key she wanted. Annnnnddd, we are done! I have shopped at this location since the day it opened many MANY years ago. Normally, the selection of items and pricing has been right in line with all the other stores. Unfortunately, the service level is what has drastically changed over the years. This is far from a customer service oriented store. Finding an associate sometimes can be like looking for Waldo. On a few occasions, I have noticed the only checkout lanes open were self checkout. Steering carts full of lumber through those lanes is not pleasant. I have also been loading large loads of lumber into my pickup in the loading area and had employees walk right past without ever offering a hand. (last trip there was five employees who walked past while I was loading and no one helped). Before leaving a one star review, I voiced my opinion to Home Depot, but they confirmed their lack of customer service by failing to follow up. read more

I had to bring an online order into the store today in order to return the item. I could not reach anyone over the phone. Customer service agents at the desks were not wearing masks properly. Why wear a mask at all if you're not going to use it to cover your nose and mouth? Social distancing measures were not observed. By comparison, the Lowe's two miles away is using self-checkout only, all employees are properly wearing masks, and they have 6' social distancing markers in the checkout line. They are also disinfecting the self check-out registers after every single use, and yet I went through the checkout line smoothly and with minimal waiting. Don't go here. There are better locations. Went to this location because they had the lawn mower I wanted to get in stock. While there I decided to replace some blinds that my puppy destroyed. After finally locating an employee to cut the blinds, she rudely and reluctantly decided to help. I gave her my measurement and she quickly snapped back inside or outside mount. I told her inside. Low and behold I got home and she cut them an inch short. Fast forward to trying to get them to correct this situation has been a whole other pain. My visit at home depot was both pleasurable and exceptional. I came to get paint for my new kitchen. I told a worker who was very knowledgeable on the subject of paint and i had my can in about 10 minutes. The environment here is very clean and organized. After I got my paint I went to the back of the store to look at a new door for my house. An employee came up to me while I was browsing and asked for assistance. He helped me choose the right one for my specific needs. Once again the staff was knowledgeable on the subject. At checkout it was very speedy. This place usually does not have long lines and they have a wide selection on any one of your home improvement needs. The only time this store is semi-busy is on the weekends. They have fairly low prices on most things and I would recommend this particular home depot. read more

ECHO Grass Trimmer/Brush Cutter with 5 year warranty! 5 years sounds good doesnt it? Well there is fine print! Like if its a gas related issue it is not covered.. Thats right! Its a gas powered tool that is probably going to have a gas related issue.. Echo does not have any tech support so if something goes wrong you have to take it into a service place.. The service place wont be able to tell you if your problem is covered until they take it apart and fix it.. I had three separate problems over the last couple years and both were not covered Revision of my review::: Though Home depot carries the Echo trimmers it is Echo that offers the warranty. My review put down home depot and basically blamed them for my issues with Echo. Because Home depot puts customers first they ended up taking responsibility for Echos lack of customer service and fine print.. Therefore I am changing my one star review to a three star review. All stars going to Home Depot and not Echo.. Dont get me wrong as Echo does make good products.. Its the fine print and customer service that will cost you if something does happen to your Echo product. Home depot went over and beyond to fix my issue and make it right..Ethics over profit are what make Home Depot better then Lowes . Not to mention Home depot employs experts in each department which is a huge benefit compared to most We all know what a pain it can be to buy the wrong products for our home repair/remodel. Usually a money pit if the items we buy cause a bigger problem. Home depot will sell you the right products the first time. (Just have to ask! )Sure Lowes has more employees walking around that can show you where a product is. But only Home Depot can show you which products you actually need and explain how to use the products. Even give you other more affordable options and give you instructions on how to fix it. read more

I really like this place. Spent at least $10 to 20k last year. Very useful staff that are well education, and can help you do DIYS on almost everything. I went to the Tacoma Home Depot today to buy all the materials I would need to rebuild my front porch and back deck at some point this winter. I was planning on spending over $1000. The lumber man made eye contact with me and then quickly looked away as I was about to ask a question. I'm pretty sure he was working on something but all he would have needed to do is say, I'll be right with you or something. I stood there waiting for him to look up but he just ignored me. Two other employees ignored me also but I think they were trainees or something. Maybe $1000 isn't that much to you but it is to me. I won't be going back. Instead I went to Lowe's in Lakewood and they were over the top friendly. read more
