We just the North Shore Ace Hardware. I have never seen a retail store so filthy. The floor was sticky, and it looked like it had not been cleaned since they open their door, . How many years ago! Absolutely disgusting! Piles of swept up garbage sitting in the aisle where you walk. I wouldn't take animal in there Let alone a child It was so filthy.. I am a quarantiner that does not enter stores anymore at all during this pandemic. Actually, even before COVID I ordered everything online and used curbside pickup, the process is not new to me. Curbside pickup at ACE Hardware. THE WORST. I placed a same day, curbside pickup order FIVE DAYS AGO for common gardening products. Although there were other gardening products on the site that better suited my gardening needs I specifically selected the products that I purchased because on the website it notated the items were in stock and available for same day pickup. WRONG. FIVE DAYS LATER, I still have none of the products I paid for. A day after placing my same day pickup order, I received an email from ACE stating one of my items was out of stock, and as a "courtesy" they ordered the item. What? I called the store and was told my entire order wouldn't be filled until the out of stock item arrived. They had no estimated arrival of when the item would arrive to their store to be included in my "same day" curbside pickup order. I was also told I could cancel the order by sending an email or I could call customer service What online pickup service operates like this? At a million other stores when an item is out of stock, the order is replaced with a comparable item or the item is simply removed from the order. In this case it was a pair of $8 gardening gloves holding up an entire $69 order. It made no sense. I could have ordered from Amazon and would have completed my gardening already. Ace should make it abundantly clear how their curbside pickup process works and that if an item is out of stock, you cold be waiting a week (or who knows how long) for an order you thought you'd be able to pick up the same, or next day. So, to cancel the order I sent an email and received an automated response stating someone from customer care would get to me when they could. The automated response to cancel my order also mentioned that if the issue I was experiencing was time sensitive, they recommended you call them. Yeah, I called and was on hold for an hour and 15 minutes. No one from Customer Care ever answered. I'll give it a few days, and then will do a chargeback with my credit card company to get my money back. The worst curbside pickup process EVER. read more

Very disappointed in my most recent visit. I try to go to this location although in order the one pacific highway. I try to avoid the huge Depot stores. I asked the cashier if the carried a certain drill bit for a particular screw. His reply was "The guy that knows that just left." Then nothing... No offer to show me where the drill bits were no offer to help me look for one. No line and only one other customer in the store at that time. It wasn't because they were busy. I ended up finding it on my own, but an ounce of feeling like he cared would have helped. Also my eyesight isn't very great so a better set of eyes would have helped tremendously. I'll be back but not if I have time to go ANYWHERE ELSE! read more

Been to this Ace Hardware many times for various basic items and they never seem to have what I need. Another bigger issue is I can never get any help other than telling me what aisle to go down and then I have to search everything in that aisle. That's not good customer service in my opinion. Even Home Depot and Lowes are better. From now on I'll just drive the extra miles to the big box stores. read more

I have stopped in here a couple of times. The first trip, they didn't have what I needed but it was a pretty obscure item that I later had to order online. Regardless, the second trip had me there for a regulator which they had and they had a couple to choose from. They were quick to offer help and suggestion as I had a special case but they had the part to solve it. The store seems small but they do carry a wide selection of items and aren't overly priced. I am always happy to support a local franchised store than the big box retailers. read more

I used to shop here all the time, but for a while I stopped because the service was not up to par. I started again about a year ago and I am so pleased! It has a younger staff, but they are always attentive and helpful. I don't hesitate going to them first for my hardware needs! read more

We always go to this store first for any of our needs. Super attentive and very helpful clerks - don't have to search for customer help. We really appreciate having a hardware store in our area - we avoid going to the Big box stores with the "experts" that are very scarce to find or have any real knowledge. The store owner has done a excellent job of hiring some very good young people. If they don't have the product in stock - they are very happy to order it for you. Highly recommend this store!! read more

This is our preferred hardware store for many reasons - 1. I never get that pitiful look when I walk in...you know, a woman in a hardware store kind of look. Instead, I get really nice, helpful people who want to answer my questions and will spend time with me figuring out what it is that I need. Or, leave me alone while I sort through paint colors. 2. It is a little more expensive than Lowes or Home Depot, but I can actually walk in and find what it is that I need, or at least the aisle containing the thing that looks like what I need... ;) 3. I can't help it, one of the guys reminds me so much of my Grandpa, I always hope he's in there when I go in. read more

Much better than the Pacific Highway location in Federal Way. Still didn't find what I needed but at least they weren't rude.

Love that I can walk in here and it's great customer service, a perfect product recommendation and exactly what I need - and fast! :-)

well stocked, well run, prices range from higher to competitive with Lowes and Home Depot. despite that The customer service is really substandard sometimes. the older manager guys are great. some of the others are often disengaged -- happier to continue their chat than to help the customer find what they need and be on their way. read more
