Now that I am a homeowner it's no exaggeration to say I visit this place at least 3 times per week, sometimes 2-3 times a day. I've always been a fan of buying things online but that's not a viable option when you're renovating your fixer upper and constantly needing new supplies. I have found that Home Depot prices are actually on-par or cheaper than online retailers, plus you have the added bonus of seeing something before you purchase it or browsing for the specific one you want. The employees here are always welcoming, friendly, and very helpful. Some more helpful than others, but I guess that's normal. In the past month I have both shopped here and used their home services, and I am very satisfied so far. In addition returns are painless and check out is easy with e-receipts. As long as I have more projects for my home, I will keep going to Home Depot and specifically this location. read more

i have been screwed by home depot twice in one week it's frustrating. the first time was not this locations fault, i went to the baseline one and picked up an online order on curbside, took 20 minutes for some one to bring it and in the end i was missing an item. customer service gave me a $10 gift card to replace it. so i came to THIS location a few days after in person to pick up the item i was missing along with some other stuff that i could use for a project i am working on. When i went to check out i had a $10 off coupon the cashier scanned it then i told him i had a giftcard too and he scanned that. I went to pay and it was raining so i had to rush in my car and was so hurried that it wasnt until i got home that i noticed the cashier DIDNT use my giftcard and instead charged me $10 ADDITIONAL onto the gift card. so basically the coupon i had wasnt used and the $20 i was suppose to have off my order became zero and now i have $20 on that giftcard. i literally dont even want it or want to ever shop at a home depot if the two single experiences i've had with them have been with flaws but now i'm stuck with a $20 gift card and customer service said they cant do anything i would have to go in person but i am assuming they wont be able to refund me. this is annoying. The only good thing was that all the employees at this store were very very kind and sweet and helpful, even the cashier that messed up so for that i'll give them 3 stars. read more

I was ushered out because I had too many high value items on my cart, so the employee was told to take my cart even though I was NOT done shopping because they were "nervous" and gently ushered me to the front of the check out line, even though there where people wait to check out. 45 gal of roof paint where was I going to go. We had a fire pit "delivered" today. It was left by our open back gate for us to move. The lid is badly scratched. The "delivery " person left before I saw it. Home Depot will not do anything about it unless we load the fire pit in our car and take the whole thing back to them. We have been using this HD for years but will think twice in future. We signed up for a $1,400 custom door installation and afterwards the 2 inch high threshold results in people tripping over it. When I complain to HD they send someone who verifies that it is too high but they do not know how to resolve it. The store manager promised to look into it and call us back. But, you guessed it; no call back. Very disappointing. Don't know if a complaint to the Better Business Bureau will matter but that is next on the agenda. read more

I recently purchased a GE Range/Oven from Home Depot. Plugged in appliance, used a few times then the range locked up. I had to turn off breaker to turn range off. The next day range was pulled away from wall so backsplash could be installed. When pushing range back against wall there was an explosion, a ball of fire came from the back of the range. It was not in use, but plugged in. Nobody was hurt, but new backsplash was burned and range completely died. I called GE, a tech came out, then said he'd be back in a few days. It's been 5 weeks since the incident, and 3 weeks since tech came out. No resolution so far. I called and spoke with manager at Home Depot, and still no resolution. I thought maybe Home Depot would want to satisfy customer by replacing the faulty Range they sold. And also avoid any legal action if someone is seriously hurt. I am afraid to touch the range or attempt to ever use it again with fear of harm. I am disappointed in Home Depot. Thanksgiving is around the corner and I have no range. Getting nowhere with either company. Purchase with caution!!! read more

This is the worst Home Depot I have ever been too. I was told to wear a mask or leave. I told the associate I am medically exempt. The manager said there is no exemptions at home Depot and to leave. I was treated like some kind of criminal. I was shot during a car jacking and have injuries that make it hard for me to breathe. No one from my company will be allowed to use Home Depot for materials again. I have been at home Depot four or five days a week for years without issues. This store manager is bad for business. I went to Lowes and picked up what I needed without an issue. I am not a political person and I am not trying to make some kind of an issue. I just want to run my business. The Home Depot apparently doesn't like the daily money my business brings in. I guess I will be using Lowes from now on. I walked into Lowes and told customer service associate what just happened at home depot. Exceptionally friendly staff here. K and I stopped by to check out the Halloween stuff. We were politely greeted by numerous employees asking us if we needed any help. The lanes were clean. I found a display for a Halloween projector that I hadn't seen at the Home Depot that I usually go to so I grabbed a box. Note to self: do not order flooring from Home Depot ever again, specifically, the Warner Road, Tempe location. December 27, went to store, ordered laminate flooring. December 31, installer phoned informing me the flooring selected needed a constant temperature. Since this did not meet my requirements, I went back to HD and was referred to a Flooring Specialist not there on Sundays. On January 6, received call from the Flooring Supervisor. I told her I wanted to cancel the order and have the amount credited to my credit card. She assured me she would take care of it. Speaking with the Assistant Manager on January 12, I discovered the order was not cancelled and my card not credited. Now, to cancel, I will have to pay a 15% restocking fee which, of the four employees with whom I spoke, no one else had mentioned. January 13, called installer to schedule installation, now told the Western States installation manager will need to come out to inspect the site before they will install the flooring. Why wasn't this suggested December 31 when they first called me? January 14, I've had enough. I'll pay the restock fee just to be done with HD, called Assistant Manager and finally cancelled the flooring order. Never again! I took the time to write this review so others may avoid this disappointing Home Depot customer service fiasco. read more

The people in the garden center have no knowledge about what they are selling. I asked numerous questions and received no information. Frustrating to say the least. I'm tired of shopping for plants in Arizona and not being able to find native or drought tolerant plants. They mostly sell pansies and other annuals and plants that cannot survive our summer (do you know anyone in this part of AZ who grows gardenias?!?) We have been going to this particular Home Depot since 1989. The customer service in every single department is top notch. Specifically, we had an issue yesterday where we needed help immediately with our vehicle. We had run over what we thought was paint on the freeway. Several employees grabbed different products off the shelves, along with some rags and headed for the parking lot. They worked on trying different solvents to find one that worked. While working on it, they realized it wasn't paint, but instead, roofing epoxy. So, once they discovered what worked to remove it, they donated all of the supplies to us so we could go home and finish the job! This home depot is THE BEST! Every time I walk in I'm greeted with friendly employees that ask if I need help and guide me in the right direction. I've had help in the lumber section as well as the outdoor/gardening and BOTH times the employees blew me away with how much knowledge they had and how helpful they were. The checkout was fast and they helped me load everything into my car. In the gardening section I had mentioned what I was getting to the lady when I walked in but had to grab something else first. When I came back to grab the outdoor stuff, she already had a cart waiting for me and was going to load it up for me! On top of having awesome employees, this home depot location is always well stocked, organized and clean. read more

It is almost annoying how you can't walk past a single employee without being asked if they can help you find something but I discovered today that this is a hollow gesture. I walked around the store for an hour looking for one product and four different employees told me it was in was in four different places. As luck would have it, they were all wrong. Another 20 minutes of walking around, I ended up finding the product myself. If an employee is going to offer their assistance, give the customer a little more than some verbal direction. I came in here a couple weeks ago to get a couple keys made for my Jeep. I walk up to a man at the self check-out and ask him politely where to get a key made. He doesn't bother to look up from his computer and then finally says "Over there" and gives me no direction. I walk over to a desk where a few of employees are sitting. I ask, "Excuse me, is this where I go to have a key made?" "No" I stand there thinking they would redirect me... Nope. So I ask, "Well, where should I go?" A woman points one way and the man points the other. Okay... Finally I found some one to help me. He was nice and helpful. I'm not sure if it's because I'm a 19 year old girl they didn't feel was worth their time or what it was, but I didn't realize it was so hard to show someone in the right direction. I go to this Home Depot very regularly. Went in for some hangers for Christmas lights. Walked around for a while and could not find them. Was not helped at all. Interestingly, there were associates all around the store talking to each other with little regard for these things called customers. I then went up to ask two of them talking and they came over and checked for my items. Clear they did not know either. Then said they would get someone to help. I waited in the aisle for 5 minutes still no one. I then observed the two associates talking again in the same spot I had found them. I will not be back to this store. The management at this Home Depot has to whip some energy to help customers into their associates. Super disappointing and I know Home Depot management expects so much more. TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE HERE!!! THE EMPLOYEES ARE AWFUL! ONE EXCEPTION- PAM IN KITCHEN. She was a dream! She helped us design an island lay out in a snap and actually listened to what we wanted and what our style was. She even threw in a few ideas that saved us a lot of headache without being asked. That is where the good news ends. After getting a boatload of cabinetry and paying, we try to rent a truck. We have rented from lots of places and have rented from other depot locations. The moron in the tool rental area tells us that he needs a phone number from our insurance office to call and ask about our coverage? Well dude, it's memorial day weekend... it's monday. No one is there and I happen to know that this is not the policy of the HD, since we have NEVER had to do this before. we have a valid driver's license, we have full coverage insurance. Gimme a truck! After a very frustrating time, we are told we cannot rent a truck. I call uhaul up the road and they are willing to get us a truck, no hassle. We approach a manger and ask if we can push our cabinets (The only ones in stock at this store) aside while we are gone for 10 minutes to get a uhual truck. We are told no and that we must return everything and if it sells while we are gone, tough beans. SERIOUSLY? I tell my boyfriend to go and get the truck and I will wait by the cabinets. A LARGE MAN IN AN HD APRON approaches me, (a female), and tells me that I need to move my items. I tell him that I did not put them there, that the employees who pulled them down did and I am not able to moved hundreds of pounds of cabinetry myself. He just leaves. After we have acquired our vehicles, we struggle to move all of the cabinetry into the trucks while SEVERAL HD employees horse around and watch us, the customers, moving a bunch of product. While we are waiting on one last vehicle with ONE SMALL CABINET LEFT, One guy finally decides to ask if we need help. NO THANKS BRO! WE GOT IT!!!! FIRRREEEEE THHHEEEEMMMM AAAALLLLL!!!!! MORONS!!!! They had everything I needed, great! I can't ask for much more. I give three stars because I think they can improve the organization of the store. Some of the signs are outdated or wrong. When I asked staff for help finding something, they struggled also. Incredible disappointed and off put by this store. I've been a loyal Home Depot shopper for all things related to home repair and the like. I purchased a gallon of paint, specifically asking for the "Golden nectar" shade. I was not verified on the color just thrown the gallon of paint and shipped on my way. Trusting I had the right color I went home and painted my entire room. I needed to go back to grab another quart to finish off some last minute touches and asked for the same color. After making my last touches and letting it settle I realize I have an entire wall that's a completely different shade than the other amidst the other spots I touched up. I compared the two cans and realized I was given a whole gallon of paint that was a shade darker than what I had asked for. I've already spent multiple days painting this room due to lack of time and here I am having to go to Home Depot for a third time in a week. I go back to the store to explain my situation and the stores lack of care to detail on my home goods. The manager was very unfriendly and seemed annoyed by my simple request to resolve my problem. I had to buy an entire new gallon of paint and was offered after several requests a quart of paint. Nothing else, and each employee I encountered besides the greeter was unfriendly and unwelcoming. I will not be returning to this Home Depot and will be looking to Lowe's from here on out. read more

Home Depot use to have a very lenient return policy. And I know, there were those who took advantage of their good will. Today, the good will is gone. I attempted to take back two garden hoses that had life time warranties. I had receipt and original packaging. (Original packaging said life time warranty). Home Depot informed me that I'd need to take it up with the manufacturer. My choice, go to another discount store and buy a hose for half the price home spot was selling garden hoses. read more

We went in to get some melamine board cut for a shoe rack my girl wanted to make. We thought it would just be us telling someone to cut something and that guy/gal just doing it but instead we got Tom in the lumber department and he gave us way more than what we were expecting. He made sure we had everything we needed for our project. He sat us down at a computer and helped us pick a shoe rack that looked like what we wanted and then he told us what we needed to make it. He drew out a blueprint for us and cut all the wood into the right sizes. When we went into the store we thought were just going to cut all the shelves into the same size but Tom informed us that we needed a different size for the top, bottom and back of the shoe rack. I'm glad we bumped into Tom cause he saved us alot of time. I hope Tom gets a good raise one of these days. He's great with people and is very knowledgable. Thanks Tom. Elizabeth helped me color match my kitchen island cabinets and style to the rest of my kitchen after a leak caused major damage to my kitchen island. Her recommendations and design ideas were spot on for my kitchen island to help make it look as though it was not an afterthought. The first day I met with Elizabeth she knew exactly what to do to help bring my island back to the standard it was before the leak. She got the process started immediately using the measurements for my kitchen island. Elizabeth designed a kitchen island, created a power point, and gave estimates for kitchen granite countertop and cabinets. She set up measurement appointments and worked with the Home Depot installers communicating the needed information to get my kitchen island back up and running as soon as possible. Elizabeth is an asset to Home Depot and definitely the designer you want to work with. She is highly efficient at her job, communicates well with her co-workers and customers. read more
