The Home Depot in Tempe is so much more than a home improvement store. What really sets it apart for me and my daughter is the monthly craft project for kids. She absolutely loves it and we always look forward to it each month. It has become a fun bonding experience that we both enjoy. The staff are friendly and helpful and the store is well stocked and easy to navigate. The craft events are well organized and the kids always come away proud of what they made. It is a great way to spend a Saturday together and makes the whole store experience feel welcoming. Yesterday I was looking for an Oleander bush; garden center clerk asked is an Oleander a tool? If they had like she pointed to plant isle. Found none but I noticed in front of Garden Center 3 very healthy looking in much larger container than I could handle. The Oleanders were pricy at $189 each. I decided to check on line today and Home Depot said it had 7 of the plants I was looking to purchase. Call Store and clerk said the website is seldom accurate. 03/05/2026: We contracted with Home Depot to have our countertops replaced. After waiting weeks we were contacted by Chivono Surfaces, LLC who then scheduled us a few weeks out. Two guys came and installed the countertops. Then they said "bad news we put the wrong backsplash on the truck." I said "well just go to your place in Mesa and get the right backsplash." Reply, "we can't we have other jobs to go to." So they scheduled us a week away to install the backsplash. I called Chivino Surfaces and asked to speak with a manager; I was sent to voicemail. No manager ever called me back. When it came time for Chivino to come back out they texted that their truck broke down and they re-scheduled for 4 days later. This location is out of the way but stopped here to get cleaning products to avoid the crowd of Christmas shoppers in other stores. There's this lady who walks around with a baby in a stroller asking for money in the parking lot but as she approached me ironically enough, there was a nice gentlemen in his truck who knew the young lady, and he started telling her to get away from me and proceeded to scream at her for being an alleged scam artist. The nice gentlemen then explained to me that, he knows this lady and that, she has a nice place to live in was a "ALLEDGLY" a scammer. The lady only laughed at him when he called her out, and she ran off pushing the baby to approach other shoppers in the lot. The gentlemen was going into the store to inform management. Please be careful with the scamming humans, as I've seen this same human in different locations pitching her scam while pushing a baby in a stroller a few blocks over in the Walmart lot as I drive by one day. Thank you to the Gentlemen who literally appeared out of nowhere to protect me in this stores parking lot( in the white pickup truck). Some of the staff at this store weren't very helpful to say the least! There was a human in the back of the store at a register in which, I asked where an item was and he pointed to an isle. I was clearly confused but, he didn't make the time to walk me to the item to help. I asked him if he would show me but he seemed frustrated, and started that "if we sold that item it would be" so I just walked off. However, there was a nice lady sitting in a chair in the dept where the lamps were, who assisted me by looking up the items to find that they aren't sold in stores. Don't think I'll return to this location because of the entire experience. read more

I'm glad to see that this location has taken out all of the registers only to replace with mindless kids that stand around the self check area gossiping, while customers get zero help with the ridiculous "self-check" stations. It makes me happy that these same kids are collecting a paycheck while doing nothing and just assume this is what work and customer service is all about! For some reason, I must be a gluttony for pain as I can never figure out why I continuously come back to this particular Home Depot. By far this has to be the least helpful Home Depot as I can never get the help I need or someone available. It's always "let me get the person for this area" or they give me an answer that I already Google'd. I've come in multiple times and on the last one, had a question for home and garden area. Luckily I thought I had an advantage as the merchandise expert teams who are setting up the holiday stuff got on the radio and said that there was a customer needing help. 5 minutes later, no help, and there is no one in the store as it's just after 9:15 am When I finally did get some help it was over the phone while the merchandise expert team talk to me between me and the local person. It's just disappointing as no matter how many times I come here or no matter what area I'm looking for help I seem to get the worst advice or just no customer help. Wow. What horrible customer service for a kids event. There were 2 associates working today on 12/7 at 10am -- a younger female associate and older lady with short red hair with glasses. I should have gotten the older lady's name but to be so rude about how many kits I receive for this event is unacceptable. I have 3 kids and made 3 reservations. The younger associate was initially helping me and was giving me 3 kits to take home. The older lady comes and gets mad at her for giving me the kits and telling her she needs to start saying no if the kids are not here. My kids were in the car but we could not stay because we were in a time crunch. But did we not make reservations? Did we not come to the store 20 minutes away instead of the store 5 minutes away from our house because this is the closest store we found reservations for? And then to be potentially denied the kits?? Maybe you should have had a list of everyone who signed up. Then I politely asked if they had extra aprons. If not, no big deal. I would have understood hence me asking if they had EXTRA. But again, she rudely interrupted the female associate who was helping me and said "no! We can't give those away!" I told her that was fine and that I understood. But her attitude definitely wasn't called for towards me and her colleague. read more

Big THANK YOU to the Home Depot staff at the Warner Rd location. Today my wife and I purchased a refrigerator from this store. We bit off more than we could chew in terms of trying to take it home same day because it turned out that the refrigerator only narrowly fit in our SUV. With the help of Vanessa, Arianna, Hunter, and a few others; the Home Depot staff expertly removed the door handles, navigated the refrigerator into our SUV, and tied it down with twine. They also forewarned us not to plug in the refrigerator for 24 hours after transport; something which I was blissfully unaware of previously. The staff went above and beyond and we truly appreciate their extra efforts. read more

I was in the store today and asked where I could find ceiling fan chains. The gentleman pointed and said by that wall down there. He did not offer to show me where. When I tried to ask if they had a certain type, just said they are all down there. If you cannot get help why frequent any store. I would say if you have a question no employee wants to help. Well it's Weed season here in AZ and with all our rain and sunshine of course my local HD had exactly what I needed. This is by far my favorite HD- they are always so nice and eager to help. I feel like I'm here every week getting new plants for my garden or just doing some tweaking on the landscaping. But one day I all of a sudden look like I have a field of weeds! A few weed and grass killers were reviewed with me and since I needed a solid sprayer I went with the Spectracide Weed & Grass killer that came with its own sprayer. They give you a low quote and have you pay in full then when they send someone out to measure they claim that the quote is incorrect and try to charge you much more. We are pro customers and have never been treated so poorly. For instance... We had a refund card with $199 on it when Alex at the pro desk rang it up he only said it was $20 on it... We had the receipt, and they refused to Verify... Mario... Alex a supervisor... Said we did not spend enough on paint to qualify for any paint discounts... That was untrue. We spent over a half $1 million with Home Depot over the last five years... My wife, Filipino, was treated like trash by Mario and Alex in the pro area. We had called the manager and ask for a return call. She said she would call within 20 minutes she never called back. We would love for someone from Home Depot corporate headquarters to read this and call us directly. We were good customers. Shame on them. read more

Great Service From Glenea In Customer Service!!! Glenea was super awesome and helpful and saved me from an extra trip! I came in to exchange a lock I bought that didn't have keys. I grabbed the other one from the shelf to exchange it and she said we better make sure everything else in in the new one. The whole hardware kit was missing in that box! If she hadn't taken the time I would have had to drive all the way back. She took a few moments to make the experience much less stressful and she had a good attitude and was nice and friendly. They were blowing out their 6" poinsettias for about $1 when I was there. Crazy! Nyalicia is the most uncaring and moronic "manager" I have ever encountered. How did she get such an undeserved position? home Depot used to be my 'go to' place as I trusted them. When I saw them list Kilz oil based primer as Low VOC I decided to use it even though I was told it's toxic. My change in decision was just based on what home depot had. Well, they had it wrong. After I''m feeling sick and my house STINKS, I spoke with the Kilz main support and they said this product is def NOT low VOC and couldn't understand why Home Depot is claiming it is on their websites. The store is a complete waste of time. They have very little inventory in stock, and the staff will shamelessly direct to any other store including competitors. What is in stock is often miss labeled or if correctly labeled, the checkout reader will not recognize it. This will prompt the cashier to revert to crisis mode and call the supervisor, who does not respond. Equating to a tremendous waste of time. read more

I go for the garden area, so that means I enter and exit the garden area. Now what I don't understand is their garden gates don't open until 8 a m, regardless of the season. In the Spring and Summer months the seasonal annuals and perennials out front are frequently dry, wilted or dying. Isn't there some sort of job requirement like the most basic garden experience required? Dried up, over watered plants, plants that have been grown in a greenhouse or a climate unlike ours are put in direct sun and fried to a crisp. And these people are supposed to be a source of information when I have questions about a plant or planting something?! Can you tell me why the overhead watering system is turned on when entry gates are opened. Especially when the gates don't open until 8? That folks is how most Home Depot garden centers seem to operate. read more

Dear Home Depot, I do business with you nearly every day. I am a small business owner that specializes in crafting tables and beds, etc. I visited your store on Kyrene and Warner, and I have to say I will never return to this location again, due to the poor customer service and disrespectful staff. I usually do not come to this location, but I was finishing one job and trying to purchase items for my next job, and this location was the closest. I made it through nearly my entire shopping experience, I had gathered all the supplies I needed, and I was waiting in line to pay. Because I did not have a mask on, I was asked to leave by a couple employees. I replied that I just needed to pay, and then I would be happy to leave the store. They refused to let me purchase my items. So just to clarify, Home Depot, or at least this location, would rather not have my money or business. I understand your commitment to safety. However, masks are not effective. Allow your customers to choose for themselves whether or not they wish to wear masks. Know your clientele. I have been a faithful Home Depot customer for many years, but this forces me to choose whether I would like to do business with you any longer. Please consider that. Thank you. read more

This is prob my favorite Home Depot location ... It's usually fairly slow whenever I have been in here, and for some reason the employees at this particular location seem to be the most friendly/most helpful. I have always gotten good assistance here whenever necessary. It's a clean store - pretty much has all the stuff other Home Depots have. Anytime I have had an issue with something the management/customer service dept has properly taken care of it and has issued me a no hassle refund if necessary. As I said above - the major difference that sets this store apart from others I have been to is the customer service seems better, and there is always someone around to ask questions to or to help me find things because home improvement/projects are definitely out of my area of expertise. I even recall getting some great deals here on products that were damaged or probably returned as odds/ends. I would rate this store nearly 3.5 stars if that was possible. I've never had a bad experience here and each time I've been here things have been pleasant. I can't say that that my experiences here have been very good or exceptional, but for a huge corporation good/average works for me! I will return to this location as needed, and I would encourage others to come to this location rather than other local Home Depots. read more

I recently left a 1 star review on google & come to find out?! I'm not the only one who been making complaints about a situation HOME DEPOT has NOT fixed. I talked to the manager & whoever answered the phone would NOT give me their name so it's obvious they get complaints about this. She said "We are aware & we are looking into this" Long story short my daughter walks in the WOMENS restroom because she needed to use it. She immediately runs back out the restroom with a scared look on her face. I ask her what's wrong she tells me there's a MAN in the WOMENS restroom. I immediately ran in & this MAN was wearing a ORANGE HOME DEPOT POLO. I went to find an employee to share what just happened & his response was "This has been happening for awhile complaints have been made but nobody is doing anything about it" So Home Depot is allowing this to happen? What about the children? This is so disturbing for my daughter it made her VERY uncomfortable it made me sick to my stomach. I took her to Wendy's nearby so she can go to the restroom without a MAN being in there. Home depot please DO BETTER. I wasn't aware you let your MALE employees use the WOMENS restroom when clearly the Mens restroom was available. i have been screwed by home depot twice in one week it's frustrating. the first time was not this locations fault, i went to the baseline one and picked up an online order on curbside, took 20 minutes for some one to bring it and in the end i was missing an item. customer service gave me a $10 gift card to replace it. so i came to THIS location a few days after in person to pick up the item i was missing along with some other stuff that i could use for a project i am working on. When i went to check out i had a $10 off coupon the cashier scanned it then i told him i had a giftcard too and he scanned that. I went to pay and it was raining so i had to rush in my car and was so hurried that it wasnt until i got home that i noticed the cashier DIDNT use my giftcard and instead charged me $10 ADDITIONAL onto the gift card. so basically the coupon i had wasnt used and the $20 i was suppose to have off my order became zero and now i have $20 on that giftcard. i literally dont even want it or want to ever shop at a home depot if the two single experiences i've had with them have been with flaws but now i'm stuck with a $20 gift card and customer service said they cant do anything i would have to go in person but i am assuming they wont be able to refund me. this is annoying. Now that I am a homeowner it's no exaggeration to say I visit this place at least 3 times per week, sometimes 2-3 times a day. I've always been a fan of buying things online but that's not a viable option when you're renovating your fixer upper and constantly needing new supplies. I have found that Home Depot prices are actually on-par or cheaper than online retailers, plus you have the added bonus of seeing something before you purchase it or browsing for the specific one you want. The employees here are always welcoming, friendly, and very helpful. Some more helpful than others, but I guess that's normal. In the past month I have both shopped here and used their home services, and I am very satisfied so far. In addition returns are painless and check out is easy with e-receipts. As long as I have more projects for my home, I will keep going to Home Depot and specifically this location. read more
