We used to buy all of our plants at Home Depot but we enjoyed the atmosphere more at Lowes. One of the many plants we bought here didn't make it and died about 5 or 6 weeks after purchase. When I brought it back to claim on the dead plant guarantee I was informed that was good only for the first 30 days and offered nothing. At Home Depot the guarantee is for a year. So now we will return to buying all of the plants for our sizable yard there instead of Lowe's.

Their prices usually come close to (or sometimes beat) online prices while you can skip the shipping wait. You have that OEM part in hand when you need it (which is sometimes ASAP, to fix that fridge/freezer). I do recommend having the appliance model number (or ideally, your OEM part numbers) when you walk in or call. Even better, use their website and that number to check if they have that part in stock. (In my experience, their site has been reliably accurate on availability. I'm yet to have walked in and heard, "The system says we have it, but I can't find it.") Now don't walk in and expect a hand-holding, Repair Clinic like experience, where they tell you exactly what to do. With that said, the staff is polite - and if you're friendly, they offer good advice when needed. As a bonus in the Tempe store, they sell a small (but task-relevant) selection of tools. I've purchased a few of them there, and while they are not cheap, they are high quality, IMO. I still use them all and never regretted an impulse purchase. My only complaint: They need a branch closer to the far SE valley.
