Huge fail for this store as the workers are rude and the paint department isn't very intelligent. After multiple problems, I tried again, and I get another delivery of paint that was to be tinted, show up plain base white. Can anyone here read? I was in and out within 5 minutes. I expected the yard item I wanted to be in the Garden Center area but was pleasantly surprised it was stocked on the floor, closer to the cashiers/self checkout to save customers like me time. However, the people I was with needed to go the bathroom so we checked that out and it was clean. Great signage to find the restrooms. Lots of employees that were friendly and willing to help find whatever I needed. read more

Really good service here , and something in almost every price range. Sometimes the lines can get long, but they do their best to move you through pretty quickly. The water bottle refill station is expensive , the bottles are already feel. I think it's around $8 a bottle . Sometimes you can go to Kroger or whole food and refill them yourself for about half the price if their machines are working. But otherwise i've gotten electrical plugs and power plugs and all other kinds of Hardware here and is my go-to shopping place for what I'm doing construction at the house. read more

This really goes out to the contractors who Home Depot hires to deliver the products purchased in their stores. I paid $2000.00 for a washer and dryer including delivery and old appliance haul away. The delivery company driver's left the old units on my driveway and said they would be back later today to pick them up. I got a call from the delivery company saying they weren't able to pickup until 5 days later. I spoke with the company manager and he was less than willing to help and ended up hanging up on me. I'll probably end up doing business with Lowe's from here on out. The manager at Home Depot doesn't even know the company's name who delivered. read more

I went to order a storm door and the salesperson encouraged me to have some one to come out and measure the space. I did so. However, I have called the store repeatedly and gone there twice with out any success. On 4/26/2025, while I was waiting in the area, calling the store and finally, I requested to speak to a manager. The manager confirmed that the assigned person was on break and provided me with the hours of 2 sales associates schedule. She also recommend that I contact the toll free number to place my order. I let her know my concern that if everyone continues to shop online, there will no longer be any physical locations. She wasn't too concern because she said if I call that number, it would give the Troy store credit. If staff is not available, it would be great to have a leader that understand the roles and is capable of carrying out the duties. 4/28/2025. I attempt to complete a form on the website. DO NOT USE INDEPENDENT CONTRACTORS! This is the most incompetent group of contractors I have ever experienced. Purchased a dishwasher and hired a contractor to install. The crew damaged the unit in transit, knew it was damaged and still installed it anyway. After installing they told me it was damaged and will need to call out to be replaced. HD sent another crew out a week later only to say they can't work on the original crew's work due to a bullshit policy. I stopped in here to buy some 2x4s and OSB and really underestimated the job. After loading about 3 boards into the cart, Cliff came by and offered to help me. Not only did he load the cart with me but he ALSO loaded my truck for me AND tied everything down so it wouldn't fall out. I tried to tip him but they have a no tipping rule, which is really dumb. Cliff is a stand up guy and I commend him for his hard work that he's been doing at this Home Depot for 10 years!!! He deserves a raise read more

We're to the point where we only come here because we "have to". Multiple times we've either received items from this store that have been damaged or we come here and items that are marked as "available" in store from their website are not in stock and there's not even a place for them on the shelf. Luckily, any items we've needed to return were pretty easy to return, no questions asked and we received a full refund back onto our credit card. It's just very frustrating to go here for a home improvement project and most of the wood is damaged, warped, or has spray paint on it (for exterior type wood). Or, items such as a door, are all scuffed up and dented. I'm afraid to see what their tile selection is like when that project arises unless we choose a different location or different company. A recommendation, take care of the products you sell when unloading them off of the trucks and putting them on the shelves, and make sure your local listings on your website are accurate. It does not appear that we're the only ones experiencing this too from other reviews and from customers we've spoken to in the store. read more

This store is always understaffed. It takes a while to find someone to help me usually, but I find someone in the end. Today, I was blatantly ignored by three men working in the plumbing department. The first one took pains to avoid eye contact. The second one addressed every man around me despite my saying excuse me and giving a little wave. (I was literally 2 feet in front of him.) He continued walking past me. After walking after the last coffee drinker saying excuse me, I finally yelled. "Dude, if you're on a break, just say so." "Oh, I didn't know you were there." Really? REALLY? I chucked my planned purchases into some random deep shelves, said something to an apologetic manager who was not actually a manager, and got out. I come here often and haven't had a problem with returns, check out, or pick up. In fact today was my first time doing curbside and it was pretty nice, although online it didn't tell me i had to show ID and Madison heights didn't ask me. The lady just asked my last name and said I was good though. Highly recommend using the App, picking out what you'd like, placing that online order and doing online pick up. This is the Home Depot I regularly visit whenever I need to buy something. I decided to make a purchase online and setup my purchase to be picked up in store. The people who worked there were very helpful and very quick about getting my items. I just walked up to the counter, told them my name, and they placed all of my items in a basket for me. The process took maybe 2-3 minutes. I honestly feel like buying online and picking my items up from this Home Depot in person is the best way to shop because I don't have to worry about whether something is in stock or standing in line for a long time. DON'T buy an appliance from Home Depot! Buying a washer/dryer form Home Depot was the worst customer experience I've ever had. On 12/17/21 When my dryer broke, I went to the Home Depot on Coolidge in Troy, MI to buy a new washer and dryer.  A staff member helped me pick new ones out.  I went home and placed my order with an arrival of 1/5/22. On 1/4/22 I checked the status of my delivery to find out that it had been bumped to 1/18/22. I called Home Depot and they told me "Yeah, someone was supposed to call you on that".  I was frustrated that they didn't call me to let me know but I understand there are supply chain issues at the moment and let it go. When it arrived on January 18th, they informed me they wouldn't install it because I hadn't purchased a stacking kit or stacking installation.... Because I was never told by the Home Depot employee that helped me that I would need a stacking kit and stacking installation for the units we chose. They took the units and left. They would not remove old washer and dryer. Then on 1/26 I ordered a new washer/dryer (LG brand, combined unit) for $2,200 (with installation and haul away of my old washer/dryer) to arrive on 1/31/22.  This time when it arrived the unit was damaged.  Again, it was frustrating but things happen so I didn't call and complain.  The delivery company told me I had to speak with LG (the maker of my new washer and dryer) instead of Home Depot.  When I spoke with the LG customer service rep to confirm there was damage to unit, they tried to deliver she confirmed they had placed an order for a new washer/dryer and when I asked if the haul away and installation (that I had already paid for) would be taken care of when the replacement unit was delivered, I was assured it would be. Then on 2/12/22, they brought out the new unit and informed me they WOULD NOT install it and they WOULD NOT remove old washer/dryer (again that I had already paid for). After 2 other failed deliveries I had them leave it.  The deliverymen damaged my wood floors bringing it into the house. I then spent 3 hours going back and forth with 3 different people in management over the problem.  I finally reached the store manager.  He admitted to this happening a lot. Home Depot offered a $200 for me to find someone else to install the washer/dryer and $200 off the total price and to have someone remove my old washer and dryer which had been sitting my hallway for a month on 2/22/22 (10 days later). I have company coming into town so I paid a handyman and 1 800 Got Junk $360 to get my old units taken away and to have the washer/dryer I purchased installed. In Summary I paid $2,200 to Home Depot for them to: Misguide me on my original purchase so they wouldn't install it the first time (costing me time away from work) Have the 2nd delivery arrive damaged (costing me time away from work) Have the 3rd delivery arrive but without installation or haul away Make me find a solution for installation (I had to miss work to help install it) Make me find a solution for hauling away the old units After 7 weeks of not having a working washer/dryer and 5 weeks of my old washer and dryer blocking my hallway I paid to have 3rd parties solve my problem. If you buy an appliance form Home Depot and things don't go correctly you, the consumer, are going to have to take time to deal with Home Depot, the brand name company and the installation company AND there is still a good chance they are going to mess it up.  Based on my experience you're in for a lot of trouble. Don't let this happen to you. read more

I WOULD GIVE ZERO STARS IF I COULD. Matt, the "manager" from the lumber department should be ASHAMED of his behavior-- I will NEVER return to this location due to my encounter with him tonight! I needed help having a piece of wood cut and found Matt who led me to a self-cut station with a hand saw. After determining that I really didn't feel confident cutting the piece myself, I found a young man working on the band saw who offered to cut it for me. Matt saw me waiting to have my wood cut and asked "what I was doing" at which time I explained I didn't feel confident cutting it myself as I'm not very experienced in working with tools. HE THEN SCOFFED AT ME AND MOCKINGLY PRETENDED TO USE A HAND SAW AND SAID, "UH SERIOUSLY IT REALLY ISNT THAT DIFFICULT" and then PROCEEDED TO WALK AWAY, LEAVING ME WITH THE YOUNG MAN HE MANAGES. Absolutely unreal behavior from a so- called manager. This store won't get another dime from me and I will tell everyone to avoid it like the plague. read more

I have ordered online twice this week. Both items are broken. The first time was a mini refrigerator, I took home and find out the box was re sealed. The refrigerator was scratched, used, and missing a drawer. I needed to bring the refrigerator back and purchase a new one in the store. Today, I went to pick up a landscape rake I ordered online. The cashier, Shannae, brought my order out and a piece was broken. She told me if I don't like this one, I can go fine one in the aisle 53. I went to the aisle, and couldn't find the same rake (this is a professional soil rake). I went back the her - then she finally checked the computer and told me they didn't have any inventory. And asked me "Do you want to buy the broken one?" (who will pay $50 for a broken rake?) During the whole process, when I was running around in the store, she never provided any help or even said she was sorry that they gave me a broken item to pick up. Her attitude was quite rude and unprofessional. This is so not the Home Depot I used to go to. Especially, as this happened twice in one week with online orders. I would rather save my money to purchase on Amazon and it will be cheaper and free shipping! read more

First off, I never feel more like a fish out of water than when I go to a Home Depot. I'm a recent homeowner, though, and I have an ice build-up on my front steps, so I headed here today in the limited minutes I had before work, to try and procure some salt. I had never been to this location before so I asked an employee where the rock salt is, and she pointed me to the Garden area. It's winter in Michigan ... wouldn't you maybe want to have some salt in the front of the store? I get there and there's only ONE option, a 50 lb. bag. I'm 5'4" and don't lift weights regularly, so that would not work for me. I asked another employee, in the painting section, if there were any other options, and she said they had some chemical (guessing calcium chloride) options but they are sold out. So I dragged myself out of Home Depot and across the street to Meijer, where I found myself a 25 lb. bag of salt/calcium chloride mixture. Not particularly impressed with this Home Depot based on this one experience. Employees were helpful, but that was about it. read more

If you want something installed properly, timely or with respectful customer service DO NOT use this Home Depot! We ordered a door and we have had issue after issue with the install. The door was ordered in August 2018 and as of today (Jan. 17, 2019) our door is still not finished. What seemed to be a simple project has turned into a giant headache. Don't buy RIDGID products If you are shopping for a miter saw Buyer Beware! RIDGID, which is Home Depot brand, might look like a good deal, but it is not! Their lifetime warranty is garbage!!! Little fine print they don't tell you about when you buy Ridgid is that their warranty is only good if you register the product within 30 days after buying it. What does registering a product have to do with backing their advertised warranty? I bought this miter saw/ stand combo at Christmas and just now set it up to use in June for the first time, and guess what, the fence is warped, clearly a factory defect and Home Depot, who owns Ridgid, will not honor the warranty, and will not give me a lifetime warranty. Have to go across town if I want it serviced by a Rigid dealer. Garbage from a garbage company. Will no longer do business with this company. read more

I was here recently with a friend looking at hardwood flooring options and for a french door set that was reasonably priced. We stopped in the Door/Window section first and the staff knew exactly what we were talking about. Two were in stock- one already on a cart to take home! We didn't take it home as we didn't have the right vehicle to do so, but exciting to find the door, and also be able to ask questions about a door extension that was needed for the build and screen door options. Next was flooring, while there was no one around to assist, we were just reviewing the types of flooring available (click, engineered click, and solid) for a certain project. Most of the ones we looked at had free samples located behind the panel which was nice. We took home five or six to mull over the choices. Negative negative negative stars!! This place is an absolute nightmare. Started a kitchen renovation beginning of March. The 1st designer had no clue of what he was doing and I mean NOT a clue. For 3 months every single week I sent emails, phone calls, in person meetings to get my project started and each time was some excuse. Spoke with manager (Brad) another complete nightmare with him who agreed to change designer. 2nd designer was able to at least put things on paper however when asked for him to explain things I received his answer as "it is what it is" What are you kidding me I am the customer spending $12,000.00 with you and that's your reply!!!! Absolutely horrible and spoke with manager again who has thrown away my paperwork with my notes (shame on me for not insisting he made copies he said oh I need for a day will give right back) OMG who throws away a customers paperwork!!!! read more

I spend approximately 8k to 10k at Home Depot a year for house projects. I have a Home Depot card and have a pro ID. Unfortunately this Troy store is the only HD that has a tile pattern I need for a project. No matter how I dress and with makeup and jewelry on, still treated like I'm going steal from this store. I have been blessed with a decent income so I don't have a reason to steal. Today I forgot my Hone Depot card - was directed by customer service to go to a register with a check so that person can lookup my cc #. I have done this before. I kept telling the clerk and handing him my drivers license - claimed register would allow it. So I called the store to ask for the manager while in the store - he stated that I was wrong, all the registers with clerk can look my cc#. I asked him to come to register to show the employee- he went into a rant ...I left the register went to pro services - well they looked up my cc # and I kept telling them I need to enter pro ID - they refused. I left the store got myself calmed down. Went back in the store picked out the tile again then self checkout using a regular bank card. Receipt did not print out after the transaction processed - I told a clerk nearby that was probably watching me stated I was wrong basically tried to accuse me of attempt theft. Found another clerk and showed her the transaction on my pro account - finally this clerk dug the receipt out of the jammed printer. I'm a white female over 60 year old that looks like in 50s and was dressed well with make and tasteful jewelry yet I was treated like trash and a felon. Walked in prepared to spend on laminate countertops with exact measurements (having just installed cabinetry the summer prior, I'm well-versed in this). I literally wanted to give my measurements, place an order, and install when they arrived. Instead, I experienced the run-around by the poorly-staffed kitchen department on a Monday afternoon. First, I was told by an associate that my countertops were *only* available in 48" depth -- Ridiculous. I asked to speak with someone else. I was then told that there would be a long wait because I needed an appointment to speak with their kitchen designer. Yes, we are talking about scheduling an appointment at Home Depot. I was miffed, but I waited, even though Menards takes walk-ups all day long. When I spoke with the next associate, an apprentice kitchen designer, I was offered the option for HD to send out someone to re-measure, which would be covered in the cost of the countertops. Sure, whatever, if it's part of the cost. To be safe, I asked the apprentice to run everything by the actual kitchen designer (he was still with his appointment) and give me a call with a quote. About 15 minutes later, I received her call stating that her initial quote would be increased by 50%, that measurement would be part of the price (which I expected), and that they would not even send someone out to measure until they had received payment in full. Sorry, I'm not paying for anything, let alone in full, if they haven't even taken their measurements yet! When I called back later to confirm the above with a different associate, the staff member couldn't even find my quote on file. Good riddance, I'll go elsewhere. read more

I was in the store yesterday to pick up 44 bricks, and I am a small woman so I requested help and was told there just wasn't enough people on staff to receive help. I needed 100 more so I asked what my options were. They said go to the service desk. When I got there the man didn't even look up to address me but he said I could call in a will call. And I said do I do that here or can I call in. He said that the choice is up to me. So when I called in today the woman said well you have no history with us you cannot call a will call you have to come in. Sorry? That is the exact question I asked the service guy yesterday and he said I was okay to call in. I live at sixteen and telegraph, this is not an easy location for me to get to. The staff is disrespectful and they don't make shopping easy. EDIT: IT GETS BETTER. I am currently in line at in a seven person long customer service line with ONE person working. I went to the pro services and stood there for fifteen minutes before I finally approached an employee and asked if she could send anyone to me. She said oh no one mans this desk after six. Where is the sign? Why didn't any of the employees ask if I needed help with anything? It's stupid because I am forced to come in in the first place after I was told I can will call from the phone. I will NEVER be back at this Home Depot, as soon as I pick up my will call tomorrow I will only be going to Lowes. Do not waste your time here. read more

The only reason I go to the Home Depot is that it's close to my house. It's a good drive over to the Lowe's in either Sterling Heights or Madison Heights, so this place is unfortunately the only convenient option. And yet, it's barely worthwhile. Maybe 50% of the time they have what they advertise in stock, either in a circular or online, and heaven help you if you need to actually speak to somebody. Thank goodness for speakerphones, I just spent half an hour on the phone with these jokers because I was looking for some plastic tubing. Customer service transferred me to *lumber*, who was as confused and flabbergasted as I was. They attempted to get me to the right department, but while the lights were on, nobody was home. Finally I hung up and called back, and got somebody in said department, who barely spoke English and hung up on me after one question. Perhaps it's not reflective of the chain on the whole, but with regard to this location, thank goodness those folks don't work for me, or they'd be in the unemployment line tomorrow. My go to Home Depot (or HD as I call it), right around the corner from our home, I feel as though for some projects I practically live here. Very convenient to get to and easy to park. Typically they have what I need in stock and at decent prices. I've never been impressed with their lumber quality, but in a pinch it works. Better to go to Bolyard off Eton for wood. For the most part, the sales associates here are always nice and pleasant. Eager to help, know where items are at, and can give a few good tips for projects you are working on. I've found the associates specifically in the plumbing/HVAC area, as well as paint dept, to be top notch. read more

Used to be that a woman in Home Depot clearly waited upon a man for some project or needed directions to the nursery. No longer is that the case, but Troy's Home Depot apparently missed the memo about female clientele. My two experiences in here followed amusing, similar scripts. * Show up. * Associate gives directions to the garden center. * Smile, carry on my way. * Look for item that is either: a) missing, b) out of stock, c) apparently not carried, d) stocked in the middle of Utah past door knobs and tommy guns. * Search at a loss for associate. * Find associate surrounded by starving zombie mob or engrossed in a conversation about boltcutters. * Get pitying look when I ask about item. * Find item or hole where item should be. * Associate gives directions to the website and the garden center. In the dead of winter, when the garden center consists of frost-covered bags of dirt and lonely pallets weathered to a bone silver, I was directed there by an associate. On the off chance that sink strainers or a disposal repair kit might be found among upturned pots and the abandoned fertilizer, perhaps? Another early spring visit involved searching for mundane household items for kitchen and bathroom. Guess where I ended up again. Two points if you said among the hoses. The orange-smocked employees ought to know better than to send me on a goose chase and I've frequently smiled, nodded, and then asked which aisle to find a heater filter, a replacement package of fluorescent chandelier bulbs with a mini-base, or a new vacuum filter. Definitely make sure you get clear instructions on where the item is in the aisle, too, because you're otherwise trying to find an unlabeled house with a grey roof from a satellite Google Earth picture of Novi. You might luck out and find it the first time, but probably not. I also knock another star off because of the persistent unstocked problem Troy's Home Depot has. This is the slowest most annoying Home Depot in the area. I only shop here because it's super close. They always seem to have limited quantities of things of out of stock completely. They also don't seem to have the same amount of employees out on the floor to help out that the other stores do. Similar in merch to any other HD but this one has a terrible parking lot to navigate through. Being closest to the Coolidge entrance/exit can often make the trip just a little frustrating. I really only choose this location if I'm out shopping Target or Meijer and need something from HD but the Madison Heights store is my store of preference. Staff is helpful per usual. read more
