Forgot to take photos but the Braintree location is great IMO. For the DIY-mechanic, sometimes a one off tool that's budget friendly and works for the job is all you need. Yes they may not be as high quality as established big names but if you're using it a few times a year, and it is serviceable, why not. Came in today, store is well organized and all the employees literally know where everything is. I just needed a quick 1/2" torque wrench to make sure my lugs were to spec, give it an extra 10ft-lb just in case of calibration issues. Worked great, clicked well felt solid. Bought the Pittsburg brand for $15. Yes it's no snap on, or even anything like that but it'll suffice. Also grabbed a brass brush to clean the hub off for .99cents. The service is spot on and the selection is quite intense and expansive! Basically you can fine anything you need... But, if convenient for you then purchase it here but if you do some simple research it can be less expensive! EXAMPLE: Looking for a power washer and here for 2000 PSI WAS $199.00 Same Exact Power Washer at Costco same model and PSI IS LESS THAN $80.00 So do the math what ever you choose! read more

Take the manliest things sold at Home Depot, then take them to the 5th power and you have this awesome store. Wanna buy a cement mixer? Check! Wanna buy a power saw big enough to take on that eyesore of a telephone pole? Check! Wanna buy a zillion kinds of hammers and axes and pliers the size of a Volkswagen? Check. Wanna buy huge knives that would make Crocodile Dundee weep with joy? Check! Wanna buy the craziest tool stuff you have ever seen for pennies? Double Check. We walked in at 8:30 and sadly they closed at 9:00 and we had to leave. Otherwise, we'd still be wandering the aisles in awe and amazement. read more

I love this frikin place. Yes everything is made in China, but that is the case with brands of everything sold everywhere now, even if it is not immediately clear by the brand name. I have hundreds of dollars of stuff from here, and I have had good luck with the power tools as well. I have had no problem with long lines or service when I go, which is always early on a Saturday morning. read more

I have come to have very low expectations of the quality of products that Harbor Freight sells. The whole name of the company is a scam, implying that they salvage great stuff at the docks and sell it at low prices. In reality it's just an import business for cheap Chinese goods. While bargains can sometimes be found, the vast majority of what this store sells is total crap. Lately I have found customer service to be awful too. My latest experience was horrible. I was seeking a mobile base for a power tool. The website showed a product that looked like it would work for me... 300 lb capacity mobile base available "in store only". I was looking for a mobile base for a radial arm saw. So I went to my nearest store, about 20 min away. I was told by the manager that there were none in stock. (I know, I should have called) Will they be coming in? "Only if they send them to us." Huh? That's your answer? You can't order it? "No. We get what they send us, and I have no idea what that is." I called another store. 35 minutes away from the first store. After 10 min on the phone, and being dropped from the call 3 times, turns out they have one, in a "beat up box." Can they hold it for me? No, it's not our policy to hold anything. I'm 35 minutes away, I'm leaving now... really? No. We don't hold anything. In other words, go pound sand. I get there, I find it. The box is beat but from what I can tell it looks complete. I can't really inventory the parts in the store. But it came off the shelf, so, stupidly, I trust them. At the register I mention the open box, and she sort of snarls at me, "I'm knocking something off, don't worry." She takes off 10%. I get home and several parts are missing from the box. I will now need to order more (sort of) substitute parts from amazon to replace what is missing from this, since parts for these Chinese products are not available. This is typical of my recent experiences with Harbor Freight's products, there stores, and most importantly their appallingly dismissive attitude toward customer service. In future, I will make it a point to not patronize them, and to disparage this company at every opportunity. DO NOT RECOMMEND read more

Harbor Freight has tons of tools and accessories at reasonable prices. The staff here are a lot nicer (not that they were overly nice to begin with) than the Brockton store where they are not pleasant at all. Harbor Freight seems like the place for people who work with tools regularly. They also have some good coupons and sales. Sign up for emails to be notified on the sales. read more

I went to the Braintree Massachusetts location and I'm only giving four stars because their inventory is way off. I called before I went there because it's over 30 minutes to get there and they told me they had six of the item I was looking for when I got there they told me that their inventory was wrong. read more

I have the most back and forth experiences with HFT Braintree. Ever since discovering Harbor Freight, my tool shopping habits have done a complete 360. Even though the quality isn't amazing, the tools here normally meet my purposes and needs, and if they don't last forever, it's not the end of the world. And even if I'm not specifically looking for something, I always stop in whenever I'm near one of their store to search for new bargains and use one of their amazing coupons for something free. You will always be able to find a coupon for something free from their store whether it is a 24 pack of batteries, a flashlight, or something else. You normally do have to purchase something, but normally I always have SOMETHING I need to get here whether it be a bin, a rake, paintbrushes, electrical supplies, or something else. This location just doesn't do it for me though. There are just too many downfalls for it to even be comparable to either of my "fave" Harbor Freight locations (Natick & Brockton). None of the employees are that great here (in comparison to the amazing folks at the Brockton location, and same in Natick), and the manager is actually sort of rude and unfriendly. This specific location seems to normally have a good stock of things but the entry way is weirdly set up and the whole layout of the store is very odd due to the shape of the space. Not very self sufficient to find anything unless you know the store well. Prices are amazing and service is normally efficient, but this location has been too much of an issue in the past (especially with the manager), that unless of an absolute emergency, it is just more pleasant to visit Meg & Tanika (the most friendly and helpful employees) over in the Brockton store, and get a larger store while I'm at it. Nothing special over in Braintree. Maybe if I'm lucky, Harbor Freight will open up closer to my house so I can go more often.... 2 stars. read more

Chinese tools are Chinese tools. The problem with this location is the management. I've shopped there for years but the common theme is the lack of attention to the registers. You can see them in and around the manager's office while the line AT ONE REGISTER builds. No, this wasn't a single occurrence. It happens ALL THE TIME. The manager has the glass windows but never seems to realize the line is growing. Lots of time to chat though. Yes, if you don't need quality tools this place will usually do. But leave yourself extra time to pay -you're gonna need it. read more

Bought a battery charger which was dead out of the box. I exchanged it for a second one which would only charge the battery to 10.7 volts. Tried it on 2 different batteries. I bought a west marine battery charger which showed me the voltages after I used the HF one and it charged both batteries correctly. When I went to return second one, the supervisor basically told me I must not know how to use one. Guess I'll be letting my inside track card expire and start shopping elsewhere. read more

This place is pretty fantastic if you are looking for some tools for your husband! I actually went in here looking for a tool box for my husband for work. They had several to choose from and they were super cheap! My husband thought I spent a ton of money. HA! Was he wrong! It was only $17.00! He loved it! They just don't have tools either. They actually have automotive supplies, toys and all kinds of gadgets you wouldn't even expect for cheap!! A great store!!! Love it! read more

Don't trust excited reviews about this store. Yes, the selection is good and generally there are no problems, but be aware that they sell many cheap stuff, so be prepared for returns. I bought two Central Pneumatics air tools from them, and one of them wasn't functioning right away, while the second one broke in my hands very soon. So you have to know what you can and what you shouldn't buy there. Oh, and they also do not let you publish negative reviews about the tools they sell... they simply delete them. read more

Hooollleey Moooolllly its worth the drive! I am 16 and love tools and such things relating to them (nuts bolts) and hated spending money at the big box stores. They buy direct from the factories or so they say that supply the major brands. An opened ended wrench set for 6 bucks come on thts cheap. Granted alot of the stuff of not all is made in China and may break in a year or two but who cares. There are people who will say "buy cheap buy twice" but i say for me or a first time home buyer that this place is perfect. Plus they have a great return policy read more

I was in the Braintree location on Saturday evening to purchase a log splitter. I approached the cashier and inquired on using the 20% coupon on this purchase and was told that i was unable to do this and there was an exclusion on the coupon that stated this. (Which there is nothing that states this) I than decided that i would just pay the ticket price and forget about the coupon, i returned to the cashier with the tag to ring it up to which i was told that it was not in stock and that they had no idea when or if they were getting any more. I was told that I could drive to another location, but I would have to call first to make sure they had it. Why would there be tickets on an item to purchase if there is no item in stock? Also why would you not tell a customer that an item is not instock when you have already checked the register and inquired on a coupon. I feel that this could have been handled better. I will think again before I shop here. read more
