I like to recognize when I receive good customer service. I especially like to highlight it when it comes from younger people. Ryan, the Tool Rental representative at the Clarence/Williamsville Home Depot deserves to be highlighted. He was professional and actually knew his job very well. He told me all I needed to know about the tool I was renting and even some extra pointers along with being able to clearly explain their rental agreement and pricing. . He didn't mumble in speech, he gave me eye contact, he shook my hand. When I know I'm gonna receive good customer service, I don't mind driving a little further or paying a little more. Everytime I think this place can't get anymore irritating... I'm an avid painter. Not professional, but I do it as a side gig and change the colors in my house almost every year. I used to work in the paint dept at a different location. So I know how this all works. You start at 5am to open the paint dept at 6am. So if I'm here at 6am, I clearly have a job to get to. I shouldn't have to wait because you "forgot to get the machines running". THATS PART OF THE 5AM ROUTINE! While I waited, I looked at the colors I chose and grabbed the cans with the appropriate base that I would need to try to get this moving along ... Made his life so easy. Finally took my order at 6:20am. THEN an announcement went over the loudspeaker saying "time for the morning meeting!" AND HE LEFT WHILE MY PAINT WAS IN THE SHAKER!!!! Are you kidding me?!? So I had to wait for their morning meeting to be over to even get my paint. I have a loyalty to Behr products but if I could never actually go into HD to get it, I would be so much happier. read more

Well as any other store ... the wait for help was a bit daunting I was looking for someone to cut wood for a railing for my basement. They have a circular saw available and I swear I was tempted to do it myself. Thing is they have railings pre cut. Pre priced and OVERPRICED If you don't mind the wait .. get it cut how you see fit. Anywho ..we had a little fun carrying it around and seeing people disburse... no better way than actually having your personal space not be encroached upon .. The young lady came over goggles in hand and got it done immediately... I also found the cool brackets for a bargain price. We used to shop Lowe's for all those things you can buy from these kinds of stores. Lowe's offers a Military Discount, which was important to us. However, they changed their policy regarding how one proves he/she is eligible for the discount (apparently the designation on your driver's license is no longer proof enough, nor is the DD214). The people at this Lowe's were not exactly friendly either, so we started going to Home Depot. WELL WHO KNEW?!? Apparently Home Depot offers a Military Discount too, only they didn't make it as widely known, so all this time we could have been going to Home Depot! Well, crud! I guess it's better late than never. Oh, and Home Depot will take your driver's license as proof you're a veteran, and then thank you for your service (which wasn't always the case at Lowe's). Since I've switched to Home Depot, I've bought flooring, tile, appliances, and a whole lot more from them. The staff at this location is friendly and helpful. They're always willing to walk you through a project. The prices are fair. The selection is pretty darn great. There's always a checkout and a decent parking spot. One of my favorite things about Home Depot is the Do-It-Herself Workshop. I haven't been to any at this particular location, but I've been to them at other Home Depot locations in the past and I think it's a great way to make women feel empowered to tackle projects. read more

It's a Home Depot. They're pretty much all the same. This was seems stocked well, and the associates are friendly and helpful for the most part. Prices are actually pretty competitive with Amazon on a lot of items. Some of their branded products are actually pretty decent too, compared to name-brands. Not too crowded. Plenty of parking, and lots of variety in products. Also recommend using the Home Depot app to search for items; it will tell you exactly what aisle/bay to find the item. read more

I went to Home Depot to get some ant traps, possibly a bug fogger, weed killer, and a plant. The pest control was located right at the front of the store. An associate saw me reading the backs of products, and came up to me right away asking if I needed help. She talked me out of getting the fogger and suggested a sawdust type product. She was extremely helpful. I also asked another associate about a pair of gardening gloves. He was friendly and helpful as well. I went to the self-checkout. The employee manning it looked through my items to see if there were any sales,or free products to go along with what I wanted to purchase. I had a very pleasant experience here. $300.00 Money grab! I wanted two closet doors replaced in my house. Home Depot had a man come to my house to measure the existing doors. Note: that all he did. I went to the store to pick out the doors, hardware, etc. and the final invoice. When the Home Depot employee gave me the final cost I almost fell off the chair! I said "boy I have sticker shock" and he proceeded to read the invoice to me. Every thing seemed fine until he read "the lead paint" policy which was $300.00. He said because my house was built in before 1974 they assumed I have lead paint in the house and the carpenter would need to tape off the area. First of all the guy that measured never said a word about lead paint. Secondly, he knew the doors are bi-fold doors and only the track would be replaced. So Home Depot just assumed I have lead paint and immediately charged me $300.00. What broke the camel's back was Home Depot employee said "this policy just stared last week". Why would you tell a customer that?? All I can say Home Depot will grab your money! Needless to say...I cancelled the order and went to Lowe's who will not be charging me for lead paint...they said they have a policy too but doesn't apply for this job. read more

We wanted to refresh our kitchen & ordered all new stainless steel appliances. Our kitchen designer and countertop company was the only good thing that we can say about doing any further business with them. Evidently they sub-contract on the things they sell as the young men that delivered our refrigerator and dishwasher were a problem. The dishwasher was hooked up OK, but later there was a small leak under the sink that was not there originally. We paid extra for them to put our old refrigerator in our garage, and instead of taking off the doors so it would fit through the door to the garage, they opted to take it through the front door. During that process they gouged and chipped the woodwork around the kitchen door and front door, and did not mention the damage to us. Also, when setting up our refrigerator they did not remove any of the tons of packing or set up the ice cube feature. The worst part of their work was that they assumed our new cooktop should be installed and ripped out our old one before finding it would not fit in the present opening. We were out of the room when this was done & came in just as they were trying to force the new one into the old opening. When they were leaving we discovered they took the box for the new cooktop which had the hookup items. We were without a stove for 2 weeks until the plumber came to hook it up. We had also ordered tile for a new backsplash & were told it was all in stock. However, when another sub-contractor called to set up an install date, they stated they had trouble trying to contact Home Depot to make sure the tile was in stock. That was the last we heard from them. After a few days we went to Home Depot and one of the managers checked online and could not find our information, but eventually found it after an extensive search. He verified the tile was in stock. We decided to cancel their tile install company & hire someone else. At that time we paid for the tile 50 pieces of tile squares and asked if we could come the next day with our grandson and his truck. We were told the tile would be at the customer service desk. When my husband and grandson went to pick up the tile someone at the service desk said it was a good thing we had a truck for the 50 CASES of tile. We will never ever do any project business with the Home Depot on Transit Road in Williamsville, nor will we ever recommend to our family and friends to go there. read more

With me being a renal transplant X2 thus being immunocompromised, I have to really play it safe out in the public. So with the outbreak of the Caronavirus, I checked Amazon.com for some N95 respirator masks that filter the Virus out. Amazon barely had any left, so I checked Ebay and people were selling them for as much as $50.00 a mask! So I took a trip to the local Home Depot and was lucky to find ones that were $5.97 each. So I picked up 5 of them. I saw there was at least 8 or 9 left in stock for that price. Then they had the next model up for $7.95. As I went through the checkout the women asked me where did I find these in the store. I told her and she mentioned to the other cashier that her daughter was wanting some. So I left Home Depot. On the way home I called my wife and told her I had got some and that there were a few left. She suggested I turn around and get them, just in case. So I did. Going back into the store and the spot where I found them, wouldn't you know they were all gone!! The only ones left were the $7.95 ones. So I grabbed some of those. Getting to the registers, I saw the same cashier as earlier. As she checked me out, she asked "Why do you need so many??" My response was going to be because of my health. Note: I need and use those powered shopping scooters. But I quickly caught myself and thought it was none of her damn business!! So I sarcastically said I'm selling them on EBay. Her reply was. "Well there is a 10 per person limit so you know!" somewhat nasty. Funny, I didn't see a sign stating that! I was so ready to ask her how many she snagged for her daughter! Nosey cashier! read more

Friendly helpers today! Nice going on this blah rainy day. I'm not usually a Depot kinda gal, dig the Lowe's experience a bit more. But today, I was duly impressed by the many associates at the ready (except in the kitchen cabinet area, boo, lost a star there folks). It was a day to pick up this-n-that, and I noticed a cool folk guitar-shaped key and wanted it cut to our house key for ToolMan. The key guy was so helpful and even had an air of aw, shucks when the kind of key I wanted was not a match for the kind of key I have. Aw, shucks is right, I'd had my eye on getting one of those for a while. But almost Bob-Barker-like, he found a consolation prize, a guitar-shaped carabiner! And it was the very LAST one, bless his heart. Two employees helped me find a lid for the cool 5-gallon bucket I thought I would put to SOME good use, once it came home with me. Even if it was orange. I'd say this location has undergone an employee make-over; in fact I had stayed away for a long while because of poor customer service. I was impressed with the high level of attentiveness. Today's experience was very pleasant, way to go Home Depot, I'll be doing more with this kind of help. Keep up the good work! read more

We purchased a Samsung Diswasher August of 2020 from the Clarence NY Home Depot. The diswasher operated fine for 6 months and then began to leak and would nolonger operate. Samsung service personnel determined the dishwasher was damaged during installation, relinquishing all responsiblity. We contacted Denise (Clarence NY Store Manager) to resolve this dilemma. Denise timely resolved our diswasher situation with a 100% satisfaction. A new dishwasher was installed and the old dishwasher was removed. Thank you to Denise and Home Depot! read more

This store has the worst customer service I have ever experienced. I was totally ignored by three gentleman with their backs to me and was told by three other employees they were standing in the isle trying to figure something out and could not help . The final person I asked said she could not help me and someone that could just started his 30 break!! Needless to say I will never spend another penny in that store. Went here to buy lumber to redo our deck. Inside customer service was fine. We picked out our own lumber and wanted it delivered rather than let them pick it out to deliver. Helpful lumber dept workers helped us load everything. Took several hours to load it, push carts to the cashier and complete check out to the tune of $1800. Reasonable price for what we bought . Arranged for delivery on a Tuesday and were told it could be ANYTIME from 6am to 8 pm with a one hour call before. So basically trapped inside all day . By 7 pm, no one called us and nothing g was delivered. We called the store only to be told ( after being passed to 2 different people) that the items were at the Cheektowaga store, where they had been selected for delivery by the store??? What? We spent hours at the Clarence store selecting merchandise ourselves ? The rep didn't seem to believe e us or know what to do but did she offer any apologies or to correct the situation by offering to have it delivered first thing the next day. So basically we wasted hours choosing the items, an entire day stuck inside the house with no delivery, and no apology?? In this day and age, with tracking and computers , they should be able to do better than this. So... goodbye Home Depot, hello Lowe's! read more

On Wednesday, June 13, I telephoned the Home Depot store on Transit Road in Williamsville, New York, to inquire about a replacement bulb for an outdoor fixture. I placed three separate calls and each time wound up in the answering carousel. I twice pushed the button for the lighting department and both times went through the answering carousel, receiving no answer by an employee. The third time, I pushed the button for the lighting department and then for the operator. The results were the same: another tour of the answering carousel without a human response. I ordered the replacement bulb from Amazon. Com. As of July 2, 2018, I have not received response from Home Depot. read more

I visited this Home Depot today Sunday October 10th 2021. I asked for help several times. No one seemed to know how to help me. I reached someone to ask them where I could find an electric nail gun and a miter saw. they told me which aisle to look for but they didn't help me find it. I asked the woman to help me find someone who could get the the nail gun out of the locked case. She told me she would . 20 minutes later I gave up. I was not the only one looking for help. Multiple people were asking for help no one could help them everybody told them to go someplace else. Or to ask someone else. It was a horrible experience. I like Home Depot, but I was really disappointed when I stopped in looking to buy a metal storage locker for my garage and I found out that they flat out don't carry them. They have cheap, plastic storage lockers, but that's all. If you want a metal one, they invite you to order it online without the opportunity of seeing a floor model in store. No thank you. How does Home Depot expect me to keep my litter of mogwai secured in my garage at night? Inside of a plastic storage locker? You know they can't eat after midnight, and yet you think a plastic storage locker is going to contain a pack of hungry mogwai and keep them from raiding my refrigerator at 2am? They have just about anything you could imagine for any home based project needs. I love looking around here. You can find random stuff at decent prices in general. We're meeting with an associate tomorrow to discuss our bathroom remodel and choosing materials. Good thing is, I've been able to get on the Home Depot website to research materials before we go so we will be able to have some sort of direction for our appointment. Sometimes it can cumbersome actually finding someone to help, but once you do thy actually do help! Their service stands out at this location compared to others; as I truly feel as of late that this is. 3rd home (to Lowe's). I don't know if it's an issue with the employees offloading from a truck or if it happened during transportation. But at $4.17 a bag, it's annoying that all play box sand bags are torn in some way. I have to say... I'm not shocked this Home Depot location has 2.5 star rating. Came here tonight to buy a fridge.. they had a great promotion going on and I was ready to spend money. No one was to be found in the appliance area at all. I walked to flooring to ask the employee... JOSEPH if he could find someone to help me in appliances as I wanted to purchase my fridge. Joseph said "I can't help, I'm in flooring." I said, "I was just hoping you could send someone over" to which Joseph responded that "you can order the fridge online which would be the same thing we'd do for you in the store." Um, hello.. I came to the store to buy the fridge in the store. Why would I log onto the website while there to place my order when you are being paid to help paying customers!?! We left our cart. We left our business. Thanks for nothing Joseph and Home Depot. I would suggest maybe hiring some people who are actually willing to make sales to bring in revenue for your company. read more

This used to be a store with fairly good customer service until I noticed a recent change. Returns are ran by employees with piss poor attitudes and as a customer you feel as if they are attempting to get rid of you. Menopausal angry women seem to be working there every time I have a return. Also be prepared to have your shopping cart snatched away from you by a store employee if you leave it out of of immediate reach. This has happened to me 3 times here even with items in the cart. read more

They don't answer their phones. I tried to get through to someone in appliances for over an hour. No answer. I pressed 0 for an operator. No answer. Just an infinite hold with crappy distorted music. I finally called a random department just to get a person. I asked for a manager and she said that nobody knew the extensions that day whatever that means. She finally put me through to a manager that seemed hardly concerned. She explained that generally the associates for the appliance department didn't come in until 9ish. So why does the phone system ring to people who aren't there with no voicemail and then back to the front desk that nobody answers?? Then after talking over me about the unmanned appliance department when I was trying to explain that nobody at the front desk answered either, she finally acknowledged the issue with little concern in her voice and asked me what I wanted. I asked if there were any open box or dishwashers on clearance. Without even checking she just answered that the store only stocked one particular model and anything else would have to be ordered. From my past experiences at different stores there are items placed in the aisle at a discount for scratch and dent, open box or clearance. Associates would usually put me on hold and check. I went to Orville's and got a dishwasher that was $539 at Home Depot for $397 and I'm getting it tomorrow rather than waiting god knows how long for my four hour delivery window. Don't bother with these stores for appliances. Local businesses are much better with extremely helpful associates. More importantly for me, they answer their phone! read more
