If only I could give negative stars for Windsor Home Depot. After reading the many poor reviews specific to large appliance purchase, I blame myself for not reading them. Consistent with many other reviews re: shipment delays for large appliance orders, it took over a month to get a refrigerator delivered. Note: my current fridge died...hence the purchase! First promised was two weeks. Then told pushed out a week. Then another day. When I went to the store and discussed with store manager - "Mark"; he, like everyone else in the chain, threw their hands up, made their best puppy dog face while shrugging their shoulders and saying, "we can't change it...sorry (not sorry...don't care). Countless phone discussions to try and escalate, with many layered finger pointing all leading back to, "you'll get it when you'll get it." The first response from the sales person was, "do you want to cancel your order?" Way to go the extra mile! Total apathy across the board. Lesson learned. Please buy from local firms who may cost a little more but they WILL try harder to keep your business. Home Depot could care less. read more

I asked three different people for help which was a chore in itself and the last person said they were the correct person and they would be with me in a bit. After a half hour waiting I gave up. Ordered online they emailed me when it was ready for curbside pick up, arrived text them my spot and waited and waited for 20 minutes. Kathy was incredibly helpful, knowledgeable, warm, and patient with us during the whole process -- from brainstorming and figuring out the best cabinet/countertop arrangement to maximize the small space we were working with, to helping us select suitable cabinetry, helping us place the order itself, and ensuring the pick-up process was smooth. If I could give negative stars I would. Home Depot is a corporation is awful, but the service at this store is even worse. I have had too many bad experiences to list them all here but these people are unwilling to help. They all just stand around talking to each other and when you ask where something is, they arbitrarily point and go back to talking. a year ago we had windows installed by Home Depot and while i understand that is not this Home Depot specifically, its their brand. The subcontractors wrecked our window sills, chipped our paint, left a mess everywhere and disrespected our home. One of the windows cracked within the first month of installation and 2 of them leaked, badly. It took OVER A YEAR to get a replacement and any kind of resolution from HD. A friend ordered a dishwasher from there for us to pickup. When we tried to pick it up, they couldn't find it and said "i guess we forgot to order it." We went in to buy a bunch of lumber for a shed and the guys in that department were not helpful, didnt know where any of the pieces we needed were and the store was out of stock of the popular sizes. I also asked for a cart as my arms were full and the guy said, "i think there might be some outside." EXCELLENT customer service. Husband went into get a drill set for his drill, the salesman couldn't help him find the bits he needed. You get what you pay for. These employees hate their job. I bought a commercial chipper three weeks ago from this nice gal working in the Windsor Home Depot. They told me it was gonna be here the very next Friday. The 15th so I waited for them all day that Friday nothing delivered, but got a notification saying my item was delivered.. so I scramble to find out what's going on no help then the next day they told me you'll be here next Friday the 22nd I believe so all day on the 22nd. I was waiting for my chipper to arrive which it never did and it stated on their tracking device whatever it was delivered. So I call everybody I go to Home Depot. Nobody wants to help for nothing nobody I want a refund I don't want nothing to do with this store and they won't give me my money. They won't refund me until I actually get the chipper that has been three weeks late so far , this is the worst customer service store I've ever been to. I believe it was Mike the manager that was working tonight was no help there one 800 number people were just no help at all. Neither all I want is my money back I came in when I purchased the chipper and paid cash. All I want is the cancel my order and give me my money back and I will never never never buy anything from that store again , I have lost two weeks of income due to the incompetence of sending me my chipper that I bought. I have been shopping at the Windsor Home Depot for quite a while because it's the only major hardware store in the area where I live. Everytime I go there, I take a deep breath and hope my experience will be a good one. However, they never fail to make my experience a negative one. The customer service people at the main entrance do not know the definition of customer service. I walked in and asked where the battery recycling was located, the girl did not look up from her computer and raised her arm to point backwards at the location. In fact, I said, "great customer service". The clerks at the garden department are on their personal devices constantly, with the exception of when a customer arrives. Today, again, I was dropping of batteries and I picked up two items to purchase. I walked to the garden department because that location is usually the quickest. It was closed. So I walked all the way back to the middle of the store only to see numerous closed check out locations and a line of about 10 people for the self check out. I put my two items down and walked out of the store. If they are going to encourage self check out, then least have enough stations. Or if they are so busy at certain times then maybe the management staff should get their butts and open a register or two. I'm sure they're capable. After my visit, I called to store and was transferred by a computer generated voice to a line that rang about 30 times, no one answered. So I hung up and called back and spoke with an agent and she made excuses, like we can't hire anybody, if there's a self check out station it has to be" guarded". Guarded? What, is this San Quentin? After she went on and on with excuses I asked to speak with a manager. She transferred me and the call was dropped. What a surprise. This location needs help, lots of help. read more

I am board with many of the posts here about the lack of customer service. Home Depot has been my go to store for close to 40 years! I was a home improvement contractor and the arrival of Home Depot to all parts California was a godsend. In the beginning Home Depot absolutely rocked. But through the years lean and mean was the stockholders mantra. With that went a lot good old fashioned customer service including calling the store. Good Luck. Fast forward post contractor without a tile saw anymore. Called the store tool rental area and talked to JEFF about renting a saw to cut four pieces of tile. He was kind enough to set up a saw for me, initialized the paper work, and after I was finished cutting my tile, zeroed out any balances due. Wow, in a time of bad news, and worn out associates, JEFF really shines as a caring associate. He easily could have just not been "bothered"....thanks again JEFF. read more

We were moving and we didn't realize it was the end of the month and everyone else was doing the same! We had called every moving truck rental in town and they were all booked. We found Home Depot rents trucks same day, first come first serve and their prices are not bad! It was around $29 for the first 72 min and like $2.65 for every 15 min after. They don't charge by the mile like other places do. We got there as soon as they opened and they had 2 box trucks available. Easy and quick process on the far left side of the building, there's a door you have to get let in. I just wish the man who worked that Dept. was more friendly. Not a hello, nothing. You tell him what you need and he just grabs the keys and walks away without saying ANYTHING. Like how about, "I'm going to go get the truck ready for you, be right back". The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly: GOOD: Home Depot has everything one might ever need for anything, ever. If I decided that it was time to abandon the world as I know it and live completely off the grid on a mountaintop somewhere, Home Depot could make that happen. Since there'd be no one out there to do my nails or deliver Uber Eats to my tent, it's not going to happen, but the point is that it could. BAD: I don't know if Home Depot is hiring less people than they used to, but it is virtually impossible to find someone to ask a simple question, ie, "Where can I find a screwdriver?" In these behemoth stores, I don't understand why they don't have a simple computer system that allows one, on any aisle, to type in what they're looking for and find out where it is. The last time I was in Home Depot I lost 3 pounds from hiking through the store trying to find someone who could help me find a faucet part. UGLY: I know that technology is here to stay, and everyone has to have access to their cell phones, particularly if they use them for work, but places like Home Depot should enforce a strict "no recreational cell phone use" policy for their employers during working hours. It's frustrating enough to try to find an employee, an aggravation that is increased exponentially when one finally finds an employee, but they are too preoccupied updating their Facebook status or checking Tinder to provide meaningful assistance. On the good side, the employees at this store are very helpful, once you do corner them, and they are each probably doing the work of three people because so many employers now are asking their employees to do much more and for less pay than they deserve. My complaint is not with the workers but with store management and corporate policies. I would say this to management: Customer service, Home Depot; it's a real thing and it inspires customers to come back again and again - look into it. read more

We ordered about $15k-$20k worth of supplies to be delivered for the reno. My spouse and I purchased a GE Café French Door Refrigerator. We went in, knowing what we wanted, made our purchase, and scheduled our delivery - no problems. Delivered was scheduled for the following week, and the refrigerator was delivered on Wednesday without a glitch. So far, so good! The following day, I get a text while at work from my spouse that 2 of the 3 buttons for water and cubed ice were broken. A service call was made, but Home Depot doesn't make repairs, they outsource their service calls to Asien's Appliance in Santa Rosa. So, I get home later that evening and notice a funny sound coming from the refrigerator, the fan is making noise and it's not a sound that can be fixed simply by leveling the refrigerator. Another service call is made and we're told to wait for a call from Asien's. Saturday comes around, no call from Asien's Appliance for either service call. We visit the Home Depot Customer Service department to explain our problem. At this point, I just want a return and refund, but we're met with a lot of resistance. They ask if they can 1) Make a repair, 2) Exchange for new unit, or 3) Exchange for a different unit. I explain that we haven't heard back from Asien's Appliance. I then proceed to pull out my iPhone and play a video clip of the loud fan noise coming from the unit. After half an hour, they agree to the refund, and said that we will get a call from the manager to arrange for a return and refund. Monday comes around, no word from either Asien's Appliance or Home Depot. At this point, I'm pissed, because the noise is loud, some parts don't work, and we just paid $3,000 for a piece of junk. I wait until 11 am, and return to the Home Depot Customer Service department. I start from square one and explain what I'm going through. The service rep said, "No problem. Just return the refrigerator, and we'll issue you a refund." Really? The unit weighs 388 pounds and I have no way of safely transporting the darn thing. Once again, I pull out my iPhone and play my video. I finally said that I wasn't going to leave without a clear answer about fixing this problem. After a half-dozen calls, I was told that I would be called by the end of the day. Fine. As I was driving home, I get a call from my spouse telling me to get home ASAP. Home Depot would be there in the next 30 minutes to pick up the refrigerator. Sure enough, they showed up as promised. So, while Home Depot did pick up the unit and issued a refund, it took a lot of persistence and effort on my part. The only reason I'm giving this review 2 stars is because the guys picking up the refrigerator were really nice, and they sincerely wanted to fix the situation. Last but not least, two weeks after the refrigerator was picked up, we finally get a call from Asien's Appliance asking to schedule a repair. Our experience was a total fail. I would also avoid Asien's Appliance, just based on the fact that it took them so long to initiate communication for a service repair that was supposed to be covered under warranty. read more

I feel so frustrated every time I go in here. Whenever I am lucky enough to find a staff member that isn't power walking past me, and try and ask for help, they tell me they don't know or just look at me blankly. Very strange. Once I approached a large group of staff members and asked for help in the garden section, they told me to just go back to garden section and someone will be there. No one came. When I was ready to make a purchase the young cashier stared at me blankly when I said "hello". One time I asked for help carrying a heavy item to my car, a teenage boy came to help me and started telling me about what a b!t€h is his girlfriend is and how he cheats on her. It's always a strange and frustrating experience here. I try to go the one in Santa Rosa when I absolutely have to go there. I went in to grab a small grounding bar kit. While I was looking around for the ground bar and at some some of the electrician tools, the intercom called out for assistance in the aisle I was in. Hmmm. I was the only person in the aisle at the time and had been for a couple of minutes. I move to the next aisle and again the intercom calls out for assistance in that aisle and again, I'm the only person in that aisle. I decided to just pay for the ground bar and get back to the job site. While I step up to the self checkout counter the intercom comes on again "Customer needs assistance at self checkout" yet everyone in front of me had already paid and gone. Just me again and I never needed or asked for assistance. Now I'm not the type to throw the "Race Card" out there but, it was clearly racial profiling. I'm a US Navy veteran and have been an electrician for the past 20 years since leaving the Navy and I gotta say this is not the type of management or people this country needs. I've spent thousands of dollars at Home Depot just in my home renovation but, I'll be looking for other options from now on. read more

This is the second time I have had better, honest service talking to Home Depot over the phone sales, then this location. The first time was in blinds and I was quoted one price- thousands of dollars. While I said this was a lot, the salesperson did not mention the pre-cut option. When looking online I discovered them, and called in. The phone salesperson was friendly and very informative about this option. Secondly, I went into appliances to take advantage of Black Friday sales and financing. The sales person helped me pick everything out, and then upon closing the deal said they would not honor the 24 month financing, and that instead they would give me 12 months. This made a big difference in cost. I had to cancel my order. Upon calling credit card services myself the confirmed the 24 mos option. Home Depot has a lot of great options both in store and online. I would stick to looking at things in store, but dealing with the purchasing over the phone. You will get a better price, more help, and friendly service! Important when projects/ renovations can be costly. read more

However, I only go there if I already know what I want and where to find it as getting help is at times impossible and frustrating. Some employees seem to purposely avoid eye contact in order to get away from you. Best Home Depot in the area because of the people who work there. Wynonna in Customer Service is a fine example. She used creativity and initiative to assure that our problem was resolved fairly and kept her cool in spite of a flock of people showing up at the service desk within five minutes of closing! We had about given up on HD because of lousy or nonexistent service at the Santa Rosa and Rohnert Park stores, where it's almost impossible to find a clerk, to say nothing of finding one willing or able to help. Windsor is out of our way, but it's worth the drive because the people who work there have some knowledge of their store and are generally both pleasant and helpful. read more

I bought a maytag washer on 1/11/17. It was delivered on 1/18/17. It started having problems from the very first wash. It wasn't wringing out my clothes so i had to put them in again under rinse & spin or use deep water wash just to get it to work. Called for repair & was told it would be a month before a technician could come out. Tried to return washer at store & was told they couldnt take back a defective washer.
