Only one in line at Customer service counter, one employee on phone , other employee stocking water into mini fridge under counter. Waited several minutes, employee on phone hung up and then when to chat with other employee. Never asked if I needed any help. When I thanked her for never acknowledging that I was there and that they no doubt would get employees of the month I was given the middle finger. Nice customer service. Have been here for over an hour, looking at sliding doors, standing in the same area, 5 associates have passed by me, no one has offered to help. Asked the one person that seemed willing to help, of course this is his first week, probably the reason why he's not hiding like the rest of them. He had no idea what to do. Called for help and said the girl who works this area is on lunch. Asked someone who seemed like he should know but said he has no idea and kept resting himself on the material, I'm sure he's tired from all the walking around, hiding from customers. I have shopped at Home Depot in about 28 states in the United States and is definitely ranks as one of the worst. I have spent tens of thousands of dollars at this chain over the past year and easily over $100,000 in the past few years and yet they still hassle me in and change the policies every time when I try to return a pallet that they arbitrarily charge $15 for. Every time I set up a delivery they give me a time and then for some reason that changes. Every time I go to this Sure I am always buying heavy products like Concrete or bricks or blocks. As soon as one of the employees sees me with a heavy item they run the other way. To return eight pallets I had to pay a worker to go to the store and fortunately he was willing to risk himself getting sick, and then after bringing the eight pallets in the store which in itself is a pain in the ass, he was told he could not return them for store credit even though I was called on the phone and confirmed my drivers license number. So you know there is a clear record on my pro rewards count of how much money I spend at that store they were not willing to give me back my $120 which they pretty much stole from me in pallet fees. The arbitrary nature of which their policies are in force is really what makes everything so agree just. One day it's totally fine to return something with your receipt and then the next time if they see they have to give you money back they make a new policy. Well hopefully they enjoy my $120 because I just told my guy to leave the pallets in the aisle and walk away because it's not worth paying somebody to load them back in the truck drive them back to the job site and send another person back later. Maybe they can use that $120 to pay that guy for the day who is hiding in the bathroom stall every morning when I shop there. read more

If I could post -5 stars I would! Worst experience ever - I special ordered a large piece of sheet metal and paid extra for special delivery with a short delivery window. They no showed on confirmed delivery 3 times. On the 4th attempt, they said they dropped at the confirmed address - yet its not here and there is no proof of delivery. Its been over a month and I still don't have the product! They don't answer the phone usually, but when they do they hang up on you or lie to you! I am disputing my credit card charge, contacting the Better Business Bureau and steering clear of any Home Depot possibly forever! The absolute worst customer experience I have had over 50 years on this planet. Be warned, stay away! read more

We need supplies to build a retaining wall and planned to spend anywhere from 1000-2000 on materials. After waiting for a hour to find a cart and an hour and a half in lumber. No one came to help. We asked four different people and kept asking for help to reach lumber that was to high. All the prices were ripped off and lumber was very messy and not organized. Very upset with the service and quality of product. Off to Friedmans or Lowes for materials! read more

Another disappointing experience. Rental department doesn't know how the tools work. Asked for load out help of my rented items (rental guy had to go to lunch, leaving rental area unattended) from two apron wearing guys- even thought they were just standing around talking- offered to call the loader and have me wait around for him. I just walked the tools out the front door (rental guy locked loading door) and no one said a word. I could have walked out with thousands of $ worth of stuff. Special ordered cabinets 4 days ago that were in stock so they'd be ready for me to pick up and no one pulled them - told me I had to wait around and they didn't know how long. Apparently my time has no value to them. Wonder if they'll notice the lack of the thousands I spent there a month? Frustrating read more

I placed an order online, one item showed 8 in stock, the other showed 6. Approximate fulfillment time was 2hrs, I checked my order about 1.5 hrs later and it said it was still processing. I work in Windsor, but live in Santa Rosa, it was Friday and I was about to head home, so I figured I'd just go check my order in the store. The girl that helped me was very friendly (only reason for the starts) she checked that status and it was still processing, so I asked her if I could just go grab the items myself, she said that was fine and to just come back to her and she would scan the items. The first item I went to find wasn't there, no empty shelf space where it should be either, the next item I found 1 of, but only because I pulled out a bunch of empty trays where the item should have been, it was so far back on the bottom shelf I had to use the empty trays to pull it close enough to grab. The girl who helped when I walked in seemed confused because the items show they are in stock. She processed my order as if I picked them up, instead of canceling my order, she did a refund for the missing items so I wouldn't have to wait days to get my $ back. Ordering online for pickup isn't as convenient as it may seem. If your order seems to be processing for longer than it should, you may want to double check they have the item and don't waste your time. At least the one person I interacted with was helpful. read more

This review, unfortunately, applies to Home Depot corporate, not necessarily this store. However, the merchandise in question was purchased at this store. I have posted my comments on the HD Facebook page but they keep taking down my posts without actually doing anything. A water heater was purchased here in 2006 and the buyer also purchased an "extended warranty", meaning the unit was under warranty until 2015. In February of this year, I bought the house where the water heater was installed and, two weeks after I took possession of the house, the water heater failed. Since the previous owner had been so meticulous about keeping the documentation I knew exactly what number to call for warranty service. After 2 days of no response from the people who were supposed to come fix the water heater, I replaced the water heater at my expense. For the last month I have posted the detailed sordid history of this HD scam and have gotten assurances from the HD "customer care" department in Georgia that they were "looking into it" and "someone would call". It has now been 4 weeks since the water heater died. Fortunately, I could afford to go buy a new heater. If I could not afford that, I would have been without hot water all this time, hassling with Home Depot's repair contractor. Lesson learned (which I already knew): HD's "extended warranty" is not worth the paper it's printed on. Don't be fooled into wasting your money. read more

A friend tells me that whenever he goes to Home Depot, he shouts at the top of his lungs, "can anyone help me? I'm OVER HERE!" until somebody finds him. I believe it. This store is gigantic, they have everything you need but nothing you can find. If what you need is smaller than a chainsaw, bring your Israelite friends and a bottle of water because you are going to WANDER IN THE DESERT for about 40 years before you find it. When you DO find what you need, the registers are over by all the wood, which is about the last thing I'm going to buy at a cash register. With Kohl's coming soon across the street, you'll have two good reasons to drive over to south Ukiah instead. read more

Norm. Norm is mentioned above and he is a nice guy. But he doesn't know what he is talking about. I ordered a window and I told him I needed it to be 32" square. The order sheet says 30.5" square. I asked him about it and he was absolutely insistent that the 30.5" doesn't account for something and that it would be 32" on arrival. Sure enough, I get my window and it is 30.5". So, there I am adding 3/4" lumber to the opening. I should have learned my lesson long ago...most people are stupid, especially the ones that insist they know what they are talking about. This review is specifically about the tool rental department, not the entire store. In general, I like Home Depot and shop there often. I have also rented tools there several times with satisfying results. But yesterday I learned that they have implemented a new practice of adding damage protection to the charges without getting approval from the customer. I reviewed my receipt for the rental and discovered the charge for damage protection. I was never asked if I wanted it and I definitely never agreed to it. I called the rental department and was told that their practice is to tell the customer the price of the damage protection when they state the price of the rental. If the customer doesn't object, they take that as consent and add it to the bill. I expressed my dissatisfaction strongly and the employee gave me a store credit for the amount. Later that day I bought some items and went to Rentals to use the store credit for the purchase. The same employee who originally charged me for the damage protection was there and I asked him if he remembered asking me if I wanted the protection. He said that as we were walking to the tool he told me the price of the rental and the price of the added protection and since I didn't say no, he added it to the invoice. Because both employees explained the process the same way, I am confident that this was not a mistake or misunderstanding. It is Home Depot's (or at least this store's) policy and procedure. I consider this to be credit card fraud. I did not request or agree to damage protection. But because they mentioned it and I didn't object, they charged me for it. This is unacceptable to me and I think it could be a class action suit in the making. For my part, I will not rent at Home Depot again even though they are the most convenient location and I've been happy with their tools in the past. read more

My hubby and I just came home from a extreemly pleasant and productive trip to Home Depot in Windsor. The attitude of all employees was excellent and it made us stay in the store longer and spend more money. Even small things like how much a item weighed, a employee saw me struggling and they came over unsolicited and asked if I would like help. They promptly picked up the item and said it weighed around 30-35 pounds. Every little detail was enjoyable. The store was sorta a mess and thats why they get only 4 stars not 5... But really keep up the good work whatever management is doing. The employees seem happy and are very helpful. Just what you want when shopping anywhere. They have my biz. read more

Came to get a heating and air conditioning floor register for my bathroom. Asked employee (Alex-bleached hair) and he had no idea what I was talking. Seemed annoyed I was even there and didn't even try and help me figure out what I was asking about or helping me find someone who could point me in the right direction. Then when I got to the cash register to pay, the lady that was helping me was a new employee (only a couple days) and I had asked her about the price of some wood and Alex was again up there and she asked him if he knew the answer to my question. He just muttered something and walked away. Very disrespectful if you ask me. I almost felt bad for her because she was so new and he wouldn't help her in the least bit. If I was an employer I would be embarrassed to have Alex as part of my team. Definitely a bad look for the company! read more

This home depot is in a spot that isn't as packed and busy as the other ones around sonoma county. The stock and layout is the same as the other locations, but the location and parking makes it stand out. It isn't that parking is always available, but at least the parking lot is arranged in a manner that makes it that difficult to park even when it is busy. Although it is out of my way to drive there, rather than going to the ones in santa rosa and rohnert park, I still appreciate the area and arrangement of this particular locaiton. read more

I have been disappointed more than a handful of times shopping w/ home depot but this straw broke the camel's back. I visited the Windsor, CA store the evening of Friday 12/6. My intention was to purchase Christmas decorations including Christmas lights. There was only one display including about (15) individual boxes of white wire 150ct Christmas lights. Displayed as $2.97 per box. When I was checking out the Christmas lights rang up at $8.89 per box. I brought the price discrepancy to the attendant Becca and she shrugged her shoulders and said it's wasnt her department. I let her know the improperly priced items were sitting behind the $2.97 price tag. Then asked if she would consider a price match, she didn't answer me but got on the phone spoke to someone for 2 minutes then told me if I wanted the advertised price I would have to talk to the person in charge of the department. I walked back to the seasonal/garden section and tried to speak to Rhonda. She was incredibly rude, dismissive and curt from the start demanding I tell her where I believed I found the boxes. When I showed her the shelf of lights mislabeled she pointed out the smallest print on the label and told me the box was the wrong one. I acknowledged her, then asked her to acknowledge that the display was mislabeled/misplaced and if she would consider a price match. She told me it's not her fault and before I could say anything else she made a spectacle of trying to rip the label off the metal shelf and told me she had customers to get back to. I recently bought a home in the Windsor area, there are times I have been disappointed or surprised by the lack of customer service I have received at Home Depot. However, after this last experience thanks to the inconsiderate & unprofessional demeanor, not to mention the blatant lack of pride in customer service I will drive past 2 Home Depot's to get what I need for my new home at Friedman's... Came here to pick out a few succulents. There was a great variety of options and not to mention the customer service was awesome. We then waited in line longer than expected to find out that the bar code on our succulents was inactive. We waited for a good 10 minutes so the clerk gave us a customer service discount! As we walked out they were serving popcorn which hit the spot. Overall amazing experience even though we waited longer than expected. read more

Just had a garage door installed. My choice was motivated by the financing. The installer, Jerry, explained everything thoroughly. It is so rare when the same person measures and then 4wks. later does the installation. I was so comfortable with the entire process which ended in perfection. Jerry talked me through all aspects of my new door including the aesthetics of the ornamental hardware I was considering using.He also left my garage meticulous. Good job guys! read more

I ordered a garage door at Home Depot in Windsor three months ago and have been paying for it on credit. They measured and told me it'd be 8-10 weeks. I waited patiently. I call for an update and voila! today they just happened to refund me for the door they cancelled and the "customer service" rep says the installer spoke with me and told me I needed to pick out a different door. I was never told this. They don't care to help rectify THEIR mistake. They just blamed it on the installer like they're not responsible -- I bought the door from them, not the installer. Horrible sales, customer service and outright lies. Never again Home Depot. read more

A little disappointed on my visit today. I was looking for a garbage disposal but there was no one around in the front to ask where they were located. I found someone in the paint section who spoke so softly I couldn't hear anything except go left. After asking her to repeat herself because I couldn't hear her, she still spoke too softly so I just moved on hoping to find someone else. I noticed the disposals on the end cap so I made my selection. Someone came racing by and I asked where something was I would need to install the disposal. He quickly got me what I asked for and then asked if I needed cords and I responded that I didn't know if I did or not. He said ok and walked away. I had been hoping to get some help from an employee as I was not sure what exactly I needed but it seemed impossible to get any help. So disappointed in the 'service'. read more

I generally like shopping at our Windsor HD . . . (Why is that ALWAYS followed by However??), However, today, Monday, Oct. 23, 2017 at about 2:35p.m., while I was checking out, the attendant on the DIY Check-Out was talking with another employee saying (I think) she had never gotten a lunch. The second employee said something like, "We can get So & So to fill in for you here . . .She cut him off saying she was leaving in about five minutes. In the mean time, the volume was So low(!) on the machine I was using, it was virtually useless!! I turned & told the Attendant about the problem--instead of GOOD Customer Service, which would have involved an acknowledgment like "We'll look into that" or "It's been acting up" or even, "Thanks for bringing that to our attention . . . .". Instead she sort of grunted & went back to her texting--no doubt just waiting for those 3 minutes to pass so she could be OFF!!! The store is mostly clean-face it, it's not exactly the correct perview for STRICT cleanliness . . .& the employees have ALWAYS been friendly & helpful!! One last little critique . . . You PROBABLY wouldn't lose as many bags of concrete if they weren't stacked so high . . . Get rid of any questionable/bad employees now, 'cuz in the aftermath of the fires, you're not gonna be able to catch your breath for 2-5 years!!! The easiest way to describe the shopping experience at this store would be to compare Home Depot and Lowe's, in the manner of a question on a college entrance exam. Such as: Home Depot is to Lowe's as Wal-Mart is to Target. That sums it up very nicely. Walking into Lowe's, or Target, conveys the message that, although the primary function of the store is profit, the people at the top have actually made an effort to create a user friendly atmosphere in their stores. Recently a salesperson at the Lowe's in Cotati told me she often sees HD employees shopping in their store. Easy to see why. Lowe's has a better selection, better customer service (MUCH better) and the store's layout makes it so much easier to find the things you need. As Jan C says, most of the Home Depot clerks have no desire whatsoever to assist the customers, the people who are spending the money to make their paychecks possible. More than once I've had the experience of asking a HD clerk for help, being told they would be "right back" and then they disappear forever. Almost every visit to Home Depot turns into an endless ordeal of trying to find the one person in the store who can answer your question, and almost always that person is assisting someone else, on a break or just left for the day. I heard yesterday that Lowe's is planning to build new stores in both Santa Rosa and Petaluma. I hope they do, and I hope they put Home Depot out of business. read more

The worst customer service with regard to flooring installation. The flooring contractor they use to install flooring that you purchase from them are absolutely horrible. We've been waiting 3 months for them to finish their installation...ridiculous! All we've gotten from Christine, Home Depot's customer service rep are excuses, excuses, and no results! I will be liquidating my HD stock. Do not want to own interest in a company that handles situations like this and makes their customers suffer, not good business!!! read more

Bought the biggest Husky tool box. When I opened it up I discovered that the top box lock was broken. I went back to the store and after the customer service people were of no help and gave me wrong information I got the help of the department supervisor. Very nice lady. She scheduled a new delivery and pick up of the broken unit. Had to wait two weeks. The delivery and pick up never happened so I went to the customer service desk again. Waited about 45 minutes while they were on the phone trying to figure it out. Nobody had record of the pick up, even though I was given an RMA number and a specific pick up date two weeks prior. The new unit I was waiting for, which was supposed to be delivered today, was missing in action and nobody could tell me where it was or if it was delivered to someone else. They opened up an "investigation" to find out. In the meantime I was charged for the two toolboxes, total $1,400. I will only be reimbursed when the broken unit is finally returned to sender and when the investigation about the missing one is over. I took a day off for a delivery and pick up that will never happen, among the other issues and the obvious frustration. I was offered a rebate but turned it down. I would rather pay more and go somewhere else than do business with Home Depot again. Unless I need an orange bucket I'll never set foot in this store again. read more
