After a disappointing visit across the street trying to find a trash bin, Home Depot definitely came to the rescue. By checking online my husband was able to find which aisle the trash cans were on. When we got there we found quite a large collection to choose from. They were in a sheltered area and all were in clean and new condition and we were easily able to remove ones that were stacked together. At the self-checkout we realized the bin we selected did not have any stickers on it to scan. We just moved to town and we went to The Home Depot to get some slats for a bed and a garage shelf. While shopping we found a tool box that was perfect for my home brewing setup that was $100 off original price. We had the slats cut. However, when we got home the cuts were off and some of them were had to force into the bed frame. The garage shelf display section had a small shelf that had the wrong price on it. We checked with the SKU to verify. When we found the tool box, a really nice store associate helped us roll the box up front and we went on to pay for the other items. We tried to use out military discount on the items but if course we didn't have it put into the website. The checkout staff really helped and the manager put in the discount manually. Them Then the guy that helped with the toolbox helped load everything. Just a great experience with good staff. Other than the cuts, this was a solid store in my opinion. read more

2020 Nov 10; I have visited this store once before and as a general rule have had ok experiences. The store is well stocked in Winston Salem NC versus other Home Depot's that I have visited. It generally has enough crew that you can find someone to help you, which is a sure plus in my book. Today I wanted to look at cabinets and get a general idea of pricing in general and availability of the products. Need to know this in my book before you get into planning and deciding if you even want to take on this project. The Lady who we were led to greeted us and I was not getting the idea that she was happy with seeing us at all. More over once she found out we were not buying today she was pretty much done with us. Personally, I am the person that once you impress me with your customer service then I will generally buy from you even if you are not the lowest. Good customer service is very difficult to find and I prefer to deal where there is good customer service. The store itself has very good selection and reasonably priced. The only department that does a great job is the paint department.. all the other departments you have to search for someone to help you. In one department, they said they're gonna do something to help you and you sit around waiting for them to call you back and you never hear fromthem . Home Depot is one of the two big hardware stores.. that means they have. Lot of stuff in there, it can be a bit overwhelming. But one thing that is fairly unique and makes Home Depot useful is that they rent tools. Sure, you can get big tool rentals from other places, usually things are not nearly as accessible. I came to rent something and the item was waiting up front . The staff on pick up and drop ok off were great, almost friendly. I mean... it's not chick-fil-a friendly, but pretty good for a hardware store. read more

I have to admit as of last week I was not very happy with this home depot. Our refrigerator caught on fire and we had to purchase a new one. We went in and looked around and it took over an hour to get someone to help us after asking twice. Finally we recieved assistance and the refrigerator we chose they had to order which was fine. We asked multiple times if it included ice maker and were told yes and we had to buy the extra water line to be covered under warranty so we did. This past Saturday they delivered refrigerator but no ice maker and I was like whoa dude he said ice maker came with this and plus you didn't bring water line . The delivery guy tossed me a card and said call the number which I found to be rude. I called the number and the lady assured me it would be taken care of. So we had to wait another 3 days to get that appt. Guy shows up no ice maker or water line and said he was here to hook up ice maker. I asked him where the ice maker was we assumed you were bringing it. I called the number on card 3 times and was hung up on all times. Well by now you can figure my patience is hone so I called the store basically went back to the main source. I spoke with a very nice lady and she was hoing to have manager call me back. After a couple hours didn't hear anything so I called back. The manager working should recieve a massive raise and praise. He told me he was working on the issue and would contact me after he was picking up our ice maker on his own to rectify the problem. With in an hour he showed up personally with our ice maker. His name is Kendall and this young man went above and beyond what I ever expected. They are supposed to come back our on Friday with our purchased water line and connect ice maker. Kendall you are awesome and I thank you very much for having compassion and care and go above your call of duty for employment. We are happy customers thanks to you and the young lady that was there as well. I must add I am deaf I can still.speak but use special phone to communicate which can still be difficult alot of times and Kendall was extremely patient and kind to me. Give this man a raise and paid vacation he deserves it. And it I was rich I would send him anywhere he would want to go all expenses paid cause he deserves that and more. I bought a John Deere zero-turn riding mower that came in this week and had a big surprise following my initial inspection after delivery which, which along with other recent issues I had with delayed orders several times, made me rethink my good opinion of HD. They also WILL NOT POST MY REVIEW ON THEIR PRODUCT PAGE. I wrote it 3 times this week and I can see reviews 4 days newer than mine but mine won't show. So, BEWARE THAT HOME DEPOT PRODUCT REVIEWS ARE CENSORED/MANIPULATED! So, that being the case, I am posting my experience here: The tractor was delivered dirty, with several scratches and scuffs, rust, the decal along left side peeling out, but worst of all was the water found in the engine crankcase -mixed in the oil, which prompted to immediately have the oil and filter changed. And it was a lot judging by the thin consistency of the white-gray murky liquid seen splattering and foaming during oil change. I can't possibly understand how/when that happened, was it at Kawasaki, John Deere or Home Depot during preparation or storage, or who knows...-it also had almost 3 hrs run time on board at delivery. I really hope that no permanent damage was done to the engine. I have also informed John Deere and Kawasaki so that they know how their sales partner handles their product because they will be responsible to cover warranty claims due to perhaps no fault of their own. The response from all 3 was useless and underwhelming, so I doubt that any action will be taken. I must admit that I've always preferred Home Depot over Lowes which is closer to our house, but they have recently kept offering me reasons to the contrary on several occasions (delayed order deliveries, . This time they have topped the chart in a way I couldn't have imagined, and WE ARE VERY, VERY DISSAPOINTED (the machine came from HD store #3610 in Winston-Salem on Hanes Mall Blvd). My sister and I came for one of their "Ladies Night Out." This is where staff members do a certain craft or project and "us ladies" get to watch and participate (if you want). Apparently, these things fill up fast so get there early. Apparently - there are goodie bags that are first come first serve. We didn't get one - boo. They did come around and gave us a free key chain - yay. The unexpected aspect was that they had light snacks and refreshments and had a big black cauldron of chicken stew. (So random - I know!) This event was something to do. Not sure if we will go back. I guess it would depend what activity they are doing. It was nice to get out of the house for a bit. As for Home Depot in general... I have no complaints. (Don't have a need to come here much so I didn't have to worry about the whole Credit Card Breech). ok...I thought hard whether deciding to go with Home Depot in Winston Salem, NC for my kitchen appliance makeover or going through a competitors like Lowe's. I decided to go with Home Depot. BAD DECISION on my part. First off, my appliances were back ordered 6-7 weeks before I had them installed. Second, I was paying my first credit card payment BEFORE I even received my appliances. Third, the microwave I ordered was DEFECTIVE and is now somewhere "back ordered" and now the handle to my refrigerator broke off after having the appliance installed only 2 DAYS earlier. REALLY??? They said the closest store that had that door was High Point and asked if I wanted to drive there to get it. REALLY? Poor customer service. We purchased $7000+ in kitchen cupboards and countertops on Sept 3rd with delivery scheduled for Sept 28th. We received cupboards little by little for a total of 8 out of 24. We went to the local HD where we had purchased the cupboards. The lady in that department called the (home?) office for status of delivery of the rest of the cupboards. She did call me back and told me delivery would be the next week. Didn't happen. I started calling HD and I got attitude, an excuse that the cupboards were on back order, no shipping date set, told to call the carrier (who told me to call HD). Nothing but excuses or passed the buck. Two days ago I called them and told them to cancel my order, pick up the cupboards I already had and refund my money. We agreed that I would wait 24 hours as "someone in management" would call me with a solution to this issue. You got it - no call back! I don't know why I thought otherwise. This morning I called and told them to cancel, pick up their cupboards and refund me, I am done with them! I have spent hours wasting my time on the phone with them. For the most part, the 3rd party delivery company HD uses needs to be changed. One of the deliveries was to be a refrigerator side panel and they delivered a cupboard! When I pointed this out to them, they didn't understand English so I had no way of communicating with them. Also 4 toe kick boards were ordered, only received 3. I have a pallet of floor tile, mortar and a new dishwasher that I am seriously considering sending back. I am totally frustrated, appalled, and disappointed in HD. Bottom line, don't expect to have HD correct any problems you may encounter with them! read more

I have never left a bad review in my life, but this has been the worst experience of my life. I bought a stackable washer and dryer which was delivered but not properly installed. I've had 3 crews come out and fix the issue but has not been fixed. Now I was asked to purchase the correct size adapter because the one that was given to me was not the correct size. I have never had a problem finding what I originally came in to get, and I am there often enough, but if I ever run into a situation where I actually need help, unless I am in the Paint Dept, good luck getting some help. I've never had a bad experience here. I usually look a bit lost and someone is always around to help and direct me where I need to go. I like hitting up the garden center in the Summer/Fall, there is such a large selection. The lines are never too bad and the self-checkout is usually pretty empty. The only downside is the store is huge. It is definitely helpful to have a general idea of what part of the store you need to go to and park accordingly. I am a Home Depot fan. I find I get much better service here. I just bought a lawn mower at this location and it was very positive. The sales guy was very helpful and even took a momer out of a box and showed me how to use it. He answered all of my questions and even loaded it into my car. Very pleased with this location, besides it being conveniently located on Hanes Mall Blvd., it has great deals & hours. I always shop here for my plants for fall & spring. If you wait for items to go on sale in the garden section you can catch mulch, soil, pavers, etc. for a very good deal. Also, if you plan to get a lot of these items just inform the cashier & they will call someone to get them for you & bring out to your call, very convenient & saves on back pain later! Additionally, you can catch seasonal things, i.e Christmas lights, wreaths, ornaments, cheaper here than places like Amazon.com... Also bird feeders & bird food & common household items like cleaners & paper towels...you'd be surprised, so have a list ready of things you're thinking of purchasing with a price for it online & cross reference it here... Just saying ;-) The staff can be helpful at times but don't expect someone in the garden section to be able to help you with a plumbing question. :-D read more

DO NOT SHOP AT THE HOME DEPOT WINSTON SALEM, nc My wife & I purchased a Masonite Door through Home Depot in 2015. Home Depot uses a 3rd party installer on the door. The person installing the door broke the above transom window above the door. The company installing the door would not pay the replacement of the transom window, they instead put it on the young man installing the door to pay me. It took 5 months to get a portion of the window cost from him, as they possess NO INSURANCE to cover the cost. It cost me a few hundred dollars! Late 2018, the hinges are pulling out from the frame. Many phone calls and several months later I was told that it is out of warranty and they'll have the same untrained people to come to my house and fix the door. It's a Home Depot - so if you're a homeowner, it's the quintessential shopping experience for the weekends. They have everything you need and you can ship direct to store on their website for the things they don't have in stock. The issues I have with this particular store are twofold. The last time I was in, I was asked on three different occasions to apply for a Home Depot credit card. I understand the employees are doing their job, but management really needs to limit the number of times you have to explain to someone that you're just looking for a paint roller and some blue tape. I've also noticed that the cashiers at this place have difficulty with competitor's coupons. They accept them, but it takes a while for them to locate the one person in the store that actually knows how to process them at the register. It's a necessary evil. Everyone is nice and there's a lot of product knowledge but the customer experience is lacking on some easy fixes. read more
