We couldn't be happier with this lighting business! We needed several exterior lighting fixtures, but were unsure of size, scale and design to best fit our home. I made an appointment (easy process) and Greg pulled up photos of the house, determined the style of fixtures he recommended and gave us a variety of options, including customization. He then made a special trip to the house to gauge size and scale. He connected us with an amazing electrician, who did a pre-inspection of our existing wiring and circuits. BEFORE we received them, Greg opened and inspected them for damage AND, on top of that, he added the appropriate light bulbs for each!! Who even DOES that?!? Add all of that to the fact that, post installation, Greg called to make sure we were happy. This is a 'class act' company!!! read more

Greg has an amazing inventory of quality products. We are doing some landscaping and needed to replace our older garage and porch lights. We were able to set up a time to 'shop' and discuss style and needs. Greg's professional explanations about the amount of light cast from the different designs and glass configurations was extremely helpful. We recently had to replace 2 ceiling fans (over 30 years old) and were referred to Greg Culver(owner). After entering his store I saw an amazing selection of all things light fixtures (floor, ceiling, wall, table etc.). It was really incredible... MANY different types from clean, simple lines to what I can only call many every conceivable of lighted art fixtures. Blew my mind (not easy to do!) FROM OLD TO CLASSIC TO MODERN TO WAY OUT THERE! I immediately wanted several but my simple house in Carmel Highlands hasn't the room or style. I saw no fans (which was why I was there) but he had an additional different showroom with an equally impressive number and styles of ceiling fans. He personally worked with us to find what we needed and are thrilled to get! Additionally he worked directly with an electrician (Gabe Pfeiffer (an OUTSTANDING professional electrician) to get them installed. We had one minor hiccup and Greg took immediate and successful care to ensure the end result was perfect and we were satisfied. Surprisingly (these days) he REALLY stayed in touch with me and everything happened quickly, professionally and we love the results. We recommend the Home Lighter for all lighting needs--purchases as well as repairs. Background. We purchased a Tech Lite fixture in 2002 from the Home Lighter when the company resided on Lighthouse Ave. A component of this fixture gave out Nov. 2017 as diagnosed by our electrician. We telephoned Greg at the Home Lighter. He immediately responded to our call and, upon sending him a photo of the fixture, Greg recommended that we bring the fixture into the Home Lighter shop for further diagnosis. The Home Lighter "made good" on the 2002 purchase and efficiently and nominally repaired the fixture. Simply put, Greg was well-versed regarding the electrical issues associated with our Tech Lite fixture and its agedness; and, yet, he truly understood our desire to maintain this unique feature in our home. We had been an existing customer in their old location but once they moved and went on appointment basis only their entire demeanor changed. We were treated extremely rudely. Emails and phone calls were rarely returned. We built a home and purchased all lighting from them and within a few years had to replace most of it due to quality issues. Getting things repaired were a real hassle and they made us feel like it was our fault when fixtures were defective. We tried to get a light fixture repaired but their answer was, "we don't fix things here" read more

As a local architect, I appreciate his ability to direct me towards makes and fixtures that are appropriate to the aesthetic of the project, as well as the budget.
