I liked coming here for breakfast before taking my son to school. They serve good breakfast. I usually order an omelette and my son elects to go with pancakes or the kids egg and meat plate. It usually comes out quick and is hot and fresh. The staff is really friendly and there is usually no wait on weekdays, but they recently updated the menu with significantly higher prices. As far as pricing for breakfast goes, it's now on the high side for a weekday "non-brunch" experience. Tucked into a random parking lot in Spring is the most unassuming breakfast place we've seen to date. Appropriately named 'The Breakfast Place', the restaurant is serving up delicious, filling, and cheap food. We have come here quite a few times when visiting family and always go out of our way to stop by. The setting is quant and cozy and the service is downright fantastic. Every time you enter you are greeted with a big smile and beaming attitude that make you feel like you're a long lost family member or you just returned a wallet with a thousand bucks in it. The menu is pretty straightforward and standard with a few country breakfast options sprinkled in. We ordered pretty quick and got our food before we even had a chance to get hungry. We got the country fried steak with eggs, white toast and hash browns plus an order of the big stack pancakes with bacon. The pancakes are good, better than chain breakfast spots, and the bacon is good as well. The country fried steak was delicious, although a bit tough in a few spots with a delicious country gravy on top. The toast, hash browns, and eggs were also good. We've ordered a lot of other dishes from here in the past but don't have photos of them unfortunately, but they were certainly good enough to have us coming back. We ordered some coffee and in a testament to the service never made it past halfway drank, not once. Look, the food here is pretty good. We see a lot of reviews here ragging on the food and let's be very honest, if you're coming here looking to find out the reason why your 7th grade boyfriend dumped you, you're not gonna find it and you look pretty dumb for expecting to. This is a straight up mom and pop southern diner, a good one at that. The prices are cheap (or maybe we're just from Austin), the service is good, and the workers truly seem to care. For the value it offers, alongside the food and service, we highly recommend stopping by The Breakfast Place. It's been a while since I've come here. I stopped as it was on my way back home from an appointment on that side of town. I forgot how great the home cooking food is here. I couldn't understand why you didn't have a better rating. Yes sometimes the weight is a little long but today it wasn't. I got the grits. I got the sausage biscuits and gravy and it didn't disappoint. The biscuits are so soft and I love white gravy and I'm very picky about it so again did not disappoint. Coffee is good here for those who are a coffee snob like myself. I actually had 2 cups. It's so funny because we can't ever remember the name of this place because we've always called it. I was in the area searching for a simple place to eat some good breakfast food and stumbled upon this place. Being fully transparent, I looked at the outside and it gave me that country, country feel so I had second thoughts, but hunger overrode my thought process and I stopped. Now before I walk towards and open the door, I am looking through the windows at a couple of patrons. I open the door a few people look at me, I look at them and they continue eating and conversating. The breakfast place is a small diner setting that stays busy. It's open from breakfast to brunch hours, is you like to sleep in but still want breakfast. Good decent breakfast fare delivered but happy wait staff who are personable but not intrusive. Our waitress was operating with one hand having recently had surgery on one arm. No lack of service, her peers helped her out cheerfully. We sampled the French toast, cinnamon French toast and some egg platters. Every thing was hearty and expected with two notable exceptions, the cinnamon French toast and side order and the hash browns. The cinnamon French toast is a brioche from a local baker, laced with cinnamon and raisins. Whether it was bathed in custard to make French toast or served as a toasted side, it was outstanding. The other exception were the hash browns. Unfortunately, they weren't the quality of the rest of the meal and were a shredded, possibly frozen mess devoid of flavor whose only edible part was the crusty brown outer layer that kissed the grill. My supervisor treated our office to a Christmas luncheon. I was in charge of picking a breakfast spot. I decided to come on yelp and do a search. As I was searching I ran across The Breakfast Place and saw all the positive reviews so I said why not let's try this place. As we arrived my first thought was oh no just based on the outside appearance but once we walked inside I was very surprised. The decor was very impressive. Waiter came immediately and guided us to our table. He was very helpful in answering all of our questions. We placed our order and waited for our food. Within a 10 minute wait on food it arrived to our table. It was a large portion of food that no one could finish. The order was 100% correct and delicious. I was a fan of this place until recently. I have never had a issue with my orders at all. On a particular morning, I ordered breakfast for my family and I. I called in ahead and placed my order. They lady who took my order repeated it back and we confirmed my order by me giving her my credit card number. When I arrived at the restaurant, everything was fine. When they handed me my bag, I knew something was off right from the get go. I said I had three orange juices as well, the staff member looked at me confused. But still came back with them. Greeted at the door when I walked in and a Waitress approached us as soon as we sat down. Always a good sign. The Coffee is great it was hot every time, the waitress would fill it up at the perfect time without having to ask.
