Not really much to say. Went to see a friend do a stand up skit which was fine but otherwise, the place could have been better. We have wanted to try this for a while and finally did. The place has been there since 2019 and it kinda shows. A bit rundown and in need of a serious update. The food was good but nothing remarkable. The staff here is very friendly and engaging. I definitely appreciate a safe haven option for LGBTQ+ guests. We'll have to try their main menu options as we only have the pretzel. There was an ordering kerfuffle with the pretzel that made it take him a little bit longer come up. When it came out it was good. The only negative was the beer cheese. Wasn't that delicious. Not sure of the reason but when you walk into a place and everyone is having drinks, no servers coming to the tables and no ones eating, take that as a sign that food is not their most important priority. The good was not good at all. The hot dogs was a mediocre generic flavorless pork parts hot dog wrapped iin an undercooked pretzel. The "stuffed pretzel" looked like an oversized freezer pizza with meat chunks as pepperoni. And the actual pizza was very flaborless and undercooked. Not sure how it got so many stars for food. Cute little place located in the heart of Elm. We parked on the street. Lots of options for beer and cocktails. I enjoyed my sour beer, I believe it was called something like "Blueberry Fields". We also ordered a parmesan pretzel with spinach and artichoke dip. We wish we had more of the dip it was tasty! The pretzel was hot and fresh. This place is awesome! Sad to see so many comments bashing the inclusivity. This place is more than welcoming to everyone and it was such a fun environment. I loved seeing the pride flags and Black Lives Matter support! It was lively enough but not too loud to enjoy conversations. We love bringing cards and hanging around for a few drinks. The pretzels were so good we kept ordering more, the prices were fair and the they came out quickly. We came on a Saturday night and didn't have to wait. Hard pass. Went to support a drag show, when I arrived and paid the cover I was told I could get cash to use to tip the performers from the bar, but when I got to the bar I was told that was NOT an option and was sent on a crusade to a convenience store across and down the street in the cold while the show was already starting. Got to the store only to find the atm was broken, made a purchase for cash back, and discovered they don't issue cash back. So ultimately I gave up, paid a cover and bought a tea at some rando store to end up missing the show and running the streets of Manchester in the cold. Also the bartender was pretty rude about the whole ordeal. All in all support local drag, but don't do it at Hop Knot. I hope they consider implementing a way to secure cash to pay their performers like most other bars and restaurants who host drag shows do. I also hope they align communication with their staff better to avoid mishaps like this again. Based off the way I was treated I won't personally be trying again ever to see, but I wish better for the patrons and performers there all the same. read more

Popped in here for a beer and pretzel. Great beer selection both on tap and in cans. Many local microbrews represented. Cool decor with all the microbrew cans on the walls. Big bar and seating area. Menu has light fare and lots of pretzel choices. We loved the pretzel. The owner, Kenny, was very friendly and attentive. We hit another place and came back for a cocktail. The espresso martini was not only delicious but served perfectly in the right glass with the coffee beans and froth. They did a good job and there wasn't that long of a what before they got around to you. I got a regular pretzel and it was meh. It did not have the typical pretzel flavor or texture and it was missing salt. The beer cheese did not help much on the flavor side either. Only thing pretzel about it was the shape. Now the stuffed pretzel was really good. Plenty of flavor and the texture was fine. I didn't mind the bread taste with the stuff pretzel. Definitely only getting stuffed pretzels from now one. The Hop Knot is a very niche bar. It's also one of my new favorite places in Manchester. The Hop Knot is situated on Elm Street and has a lot of competition from other local bars. The spot has a bit of an industrial feel with a well sized bar, one long table in the middle and several smaller tables lining the walls. I haven't been there yet at peak times, but off peak it ranges from quiet to buzzy but not overly busy. Everything on the food menu is pretzel based. That's your niche. They have pretzels, stuffed pretzels, dessert pretzels, and pretzel dogs/sandwiches. There also also some pretzel entrees that i have not had the chance to try yet. The pretzels, by my accounting, are really good. They aren't huge, but the flavors and textures are really good and one is still fairly filling with a solid beer. The stuffed pretzels have really good flavor profiles and the solid bottom is a nice design touch to make them manageable. I do not personally feel the sandwiches live up to the regular pretzels but they are still well thought out. Of the ones we have had, the Asiago Parmesan pretzel and S'mores Pretzel both stand out as the best we've had, and some others could be up there with a bit more punch on the flavors. They rotate about 20 taps and switch out fairly frequently, pretty much exclusively craft brews. Prices are bit on the high side but not out of order with any other Manchester bars. They also have house wine options and mixed drinks (I wasn't a fan of the mixed drink I tried to be honest). The diversity of the beer selection, for twenty taps, is quite good and they are getting in some fairly good options. Service has been largely solid, but given their wait and barstaff are the same individuals, the bar is the better place to be if you want quicker service. The pretzels do take a while to come out but those times have been getting better as the weeks have gone on and they are fairly new, so I imagine it will tighten up a bit. It's quality food, good beer, reasonable prices, and something Manchester really doesn't have now. It's a welcome addition to Elm Street and I look forward to seeing how they grow. read more

I would NOT recommend this establishment if you are a person of color, and/or are gay. If you want to engage in racist and derogatory conversations, this is the place to go. I was inspired to visit this establishment because I heard that it was a place committed to providing an environment of acceptance and diversity. However, on my second visit there at the bar, I was exposed to a conversation between one of the bartenders and her 2 male friends about why "Black Lives Matter is stupid; We aren't gay; I'm voting for Trump because I dont want to lose my job." Clearly a hostile and inappropriate conversation for staff to allow, let alone engage in, for a place positioning itself to be a place of acceptance and diversity. I spoke to the bartender directly about how uncomfortable this made me feel. I contacted the manager directly about this experience, and there has been not response from him. I mention this because I dont think it's fair to use important social issues to attract patrons, and then your staff engage in hostile conversations. Additionally, for the manager to ignore these concerns makes me think he doesn't REALLY care about the experience people have there. read more

Came here after wanting to for AGES. Definitely glad we did. Fair warning - if you have anywhere to be, this is not where you want to get food. They even have a sign telling you the food is slow. It is not a lie. But it's worth the wait! Everything is made to order, which means it can be up to 30 minutes for your stuff to come out of the kitchen. We did a plain pretzel with beer cheese (sauce was not as thick as I normally expect, but had great flavor!), two pretzel sandwiches, both delicious, and mid-way through the sandwiches we ordered a S'mores stuffed pretzel for dessert, which came out pretty quick after we finished our Reuben and Roast Beef sandwiches. That was amazing, and I wish I had the room for the last three bites, I hated leaving any behind. If you want to carb-load, this should be where you go - we basically had four pretzels for dinner and I'm already planning our next trip so we can try more flavors! read more

Started popping into Hopknot a year back, and haven't been able to stop. I have tried everything (vegetarian) on the menu, and countless revolving beers, and have never had anything but stellar food, wonderful drinks (mixed drinks and beer!) and a service that is hard to find these days. A cute, friendly, safe environment, with three TVs above the bar that can host practically anything you could want. Operated by a personable staff serving top notch food and drinks (and smiles!) HopKnot Manchester is am absolute must. If you haven't tried the jalapeño honey sauce and beer cheese, you're seriously missing out. Would give 6 stars if I could. read more
