    Method of Madness single malt

Really great service and a great pint of Guinness. The bartender gave great recommendations and explanations about different Irish whiskeys. I ended up being very happy with most of the pours. It's a great spot for a nightcap.

If you want a proper drink made by a proper bartender - see Nicholas. Loved my Penicilin (premium single malt scotch, laphroaig, honey & ginger syrup and lemon). I then asked him to surprise me with my next drink and made me the best Rob Roy I've ever had. Not to be missed. So happy this bar was in my hotel.

    Guinness Mojito

I read a question mark head review* and she mentioned about a Guinness mojito. I was mildly disgusted and at the same time intrigued. I called them to confirm that question mark head was not tripping. She wasn't. Well I just had to go to try for myself. Saloon style bar which is in the shape of a horseshoe, funny that. Very posh but the clientele varied, I think a lot of people just pop in for the one drink and to enjoy the experience. What I found really disappointingly was that most people were drinking bottles of Coors Light and Guinness... Why pay more money for those two drinks that you can get for so cheap anywhere else? The Guinness mojito: Instead of the soda they use Guinness and it gives it a little head as the photo shows. I'm not a huge fan of mojitos as it is, so let's just say that the taste was strange. But once I got accustomed to it, it was nicely refreshing then bam half way through it hit my legs. It was very potent. They have an excellent cocktail menu in there. Do try something adventurous if you decide to treat yourself with a visit here. * Seriously folks, please use a real profile picture... Unless you are like Mister Ed there should just be human faces behind the names. What have you got to hide?!

Get The no. 27 drink! It is amazing!! This bar is classy but you can also be casual. Great for a night cap before retreating to your room. They give you munchies to eat and the service is great. If you don't see something you want the bartender will make something for you based on your likings.

I love this place I do but the cocktails are so v overpriced. €19 for a mimosa or Kir royale. Great for a special occasion

Had a lovely after dinner drink here. We engaged in great conversation with the people in the bar.

It's a pretty small place and it feels very hidden so making a reservation is probably a good idea. How it works: walk downstairs (look for the neon sign that says "sshhh!") and GENTLY press the pig head on your left at the bottom to open the secret door. Our server was a gem and helped us navigate the extensive craft cocktail menu-I LOVED THE "breakfast of champions " and my wife enjoyed the noonin which was a bit of a riff on a margarita. We started with the creamy burratta with grilled pears and bread-heavenly and so fresh. For mains I got the pasta with beef and onions(yum!), but the standout was the braised short ribs with creamy mashed potatoes-amazing! -and at €30 a fantastic value. In fact everything was very reasonably priced and cocktails were only €15 each. Out entire bill was just €120-at least 50% less than a comparable meal at a quality restaurant in the US. Highly recommended (shhh!)

My husband and I stopped by for dinner and I ordered a caesar salad and their fish chowder. The caesar was great but my gosh the fish chowder and accompanying brown bread rocked my socks. So, much so, that I did what I never do--I revisited this spot more than once on the same trip (so many places to explore I almost never do this!). That fish chowder is craveable. They do live music on occasion as well and so we were able to enjoy that while sipping our Guinness. The prices are reasonable and the service is friendly. They aren't as small as they look at first glance, on one of our visits, we sat upstairs which has a second dining area. Amazing! Get to it!

Had to excuse ourselves from the table multiple times to freshen drinks. The food was good. Once again, absolute star was the Buffalo Wings! Ireland? I mean what??? Perfectly cooked, sauced nicely, just spectacular! The band was playing a mix and of Irish Music and American Rock songs played to Irish tunes. Very fun and well engaged with the crowd. It's LOADS of fun, I can't express that enough - but it DOES get packed! If you are staying in Kelly's Hotel up above it, you MUST visit at least once to see what all the fuss is and why your hotel room is rattling until 2 or 3 in the morning. The entrance is JUST past the sidewalk patio for L'Gueuleton.
