Hubby and I have been in search for WINGS. Real wings. Not Wing Zone, no "wings" from Papa John's or Domino's. The Hot Buffalo offers so many flavor choices in either traditional or boneless plus yummy appetizers. They have a nice outdoor patio plus great music and plenty of TVs to catch whatever game you want to watch. Definitely a prime spot in Holden Beach, and our favorite wing place. read more

This an honest review. The food here is mediocre and the prices are way too steep for mediocre food. I can name a dozen places with better/less expensive wings. Maybe I came here with huge expectations based on the tremendous reviews. I will start by saying that the wings are hands down the best wings I've had outside of Buffalo NY! You can even order them xtra crispy! Game changer! I did have a issue with pickup service.....after waiting 40min longer then what I was told on the phone, I got back to out house with someone else's order ‍. They owner fixed it, but what a pain. They only other issue was that we can't order just flats or drums. I'm willing to pay extra for that. Overall......wings are amazing!! Will return over and over. read more

These wings are great. We called a pick up order in on our way back from the beach. I watched a little NFL network and laughed at all the Bills memorabilia on the wall while waiting for the food to finish. Got back to my camper and waited for my kids to wash before we ate. Walked in, asked for a table for 7, hostess states there's a table outside with no other options, suggestions, wait times, just silence. If I had a suggestion it would be to maybe give a little more carrots and celery-there were 2 of each in the wing orders. The crew at The Hot Buffalo have the best chicken wings anywhere in this area of North Carolina. The meaty and crispy taste of the wing is second to none. They have many sauces to include spicy garlic parmesan, mango habanero, southern BQ, as well as buffalo hot, medium, or mild. The new fried cauliflower with spicy garlic parmesan is absolutely a foodie must. The hot crispy fries and pizza rolls add to a great meal. The Labatt beer on tap along with other ice cold beers and wine make The Hot Buffalo a must stop. FYI, they do delivery in the Holden Beach area. read more

We moved here last year from the Buffalo area. We have been trying to find good wings here for a year. We have had some luck with finding ok wings but today, we stopped at Hot Buffalo. Wow! Wow! If it weren't for the fact we were sitting outside in February having dinner I would have thought we were eating at one of our favorite wing places back in Buffalo. We also had to get a few pizza logs because well, they're pizza logs and you can't find them down here. My husband got mild and I got medium and they even brought out water and extra carrots and celery for our puppy. Lots of great flavors to choose from as well as boneless. We met Joe, Matt and Kevin that own and run this place! What a great day and great find ! No unique shells found today at the beach but, a great treasure was found when we stopped here! Great food and service! Husband and I got a mix of food: pizza logs, house chips, boneless wings (teriyaki and spicy garlic parm), and traditional wings (hot and lemon pepper dry rub). All were delicious and generous portion sizes. Service was also top notch, we were checked on by numerous staff as well as the manager to ensure we were enjoying our meal. My very favorite place for wings - not just at the beach, but anywhere! The Rajun Cajun is the perfect blend of hot and flavor and the extra crispy gets the skin to the perfect texture! Our party of five stopped in tonight for dinner. We love this little mom and Pop place. Everything was cooked well and the service was friendly and of course we noticed the restaurant was super clean. We chose the hot buffalo because we had two vegetarians in our party and they have cauliflower wings. The rest of us got regular chicken wings.
