I have never been here when it was a slow day! That being said, the line moves quickly and there is ample seating inside and some seating outside. The food has always been great when I have eaten here. Good, fresh and ample portion sizes. I really enjoy the fries! It's not loud in the restaurant which is surprising with it being so busy. A couple of pieces of advice. 1. check out the menu before you go, there is a lot to choose from so it will make your visit more enjoyable. 2. Try the sauces!! I really like the Tex Mex sauce. 3. You can find Local Expedition Wood Fired Grill at 5315 Windward Pkwy Ste B Alpharetta, GA 30004. The business is in a free-standing building shared with Masters Barber Shop, across from Truist bank. Parking can be a bit iffy in this lot but there's plenty in the surrounding area if you don't mind a short walk - the place gets very busy so there can sometimes be a line. I visited this place with my BIL for lunch - this is a fast casual restaurant where you get in line to order. They call out receipt numbers when your food is ready - there seems to be a lot of staff so they may at times deliver your food. For the most part everything is self-service. They specialize in wraps and have several fresh sides. I ordered a chicken plate with green beans and broccoli - the chicken is grilled and cubed up, served on a bed of white rice - the veggies were blanched and sauteed. You also get two pita wedges (never have understood why places like this skimp on the pita - I mean you get a whole piece when you buy a wrap and two-four pieces is never enough for a plate). The chicken was moist with light char and a bit of smokiness - quite good. My BIL ordered a chicken plate with zucchini and potato salad - which he thought excellent (he's visited many times so may be a bit biased). In all I thought it a good experience - the place is very busy so it suffers a bit on cleanliness (not that it's particularly dirty, but you can see visible evidence of wear and there's a food odor in the air). Since it's all self-service there wasn't much staff-interaction so hard to grade that aspect other than the friendliness of the person at the register. read more

I ordered the Hummus plate with warm Pita Bread as to stave off my hunger as I waited. It was very good! Once my daughter arrived we ordered a Chinese Chicken Salad and the Grilled Chicken with 2 sides. Everything was hot and fresh and delivered expeditiously. Our to go orders of wings and a pork plate for our significant others were equally tasty. I will definitely return when I'm in the area and wanting something quick, healthy & delicious. I really like how this establishment prepares different veggies and keeps the menu just varied enough to keep customers coming. The ordering process is a bit confusing for first timers but there are devices by the front door to put your order in. You can also order at the counter but they will refer you to the device if they are too busy. The interior can easily feel quite cramped because of limited seating and oftentimes when I go, there's a lot of people. The food is really good and the portions are big. I especially loved the Local fries and their roasted corn! The rice was cooked unevenly; some grains were overdone and some were underdone. We walked back and forth to the cashier a couple of times before he finally provided clear instructions... Search for menus under the Yelp sign on the side of the glass case, then look up to the board with the daily side options hanging on a board, then inform the person behind the counter there of your order, then stroll to the cashier and pay. Pick up any sauces...hubby preferred the bbq and buffalo chickenish flavor. Of my 3 sides...spinach/spaghetti squash was my favorite, sweet potatoes, then seared brussel sprouts were a bit spicy/crunchy even for me. Pita was soft and warm. Hubby enjoyed his chicken, rice, cauliflower/peas, and broccoli. Very close to the Costco and parking in close areas if the immediate spot are filled. However the wings do not come with a wing sauce on them... you select your sauce and it comes out in a separate little container. Normally I like that... but the sauce I chose was just ok... I wanted a Buffalo sauce but that was not a selection. A place that sells wings and no Buffalo sauce... really? The sauce I got was a bbq sauce and it was ok. Each sauce you get is a charge... I think they need a sampler sauce option for newbies... like I was. They were also just starting out using some ordering kiosks and that experience... especially for a first time orderer, was very clunky. I'm sure the system is better now but it was slightly confusing then. They readily admitted that they were getting used to it too. The location is great! I could tell this was going to be 5 stars within seconds of walking in. First of all, it smells amazing and the decor is super cute. I love the ordering kiosks and that you see your food being prepared. They have an awesome selection of Stubborn soda and a different section with pretty much any other drink you'd want. So, as for the food. I got the pulled pork with two sides (local fries and brussel sprouts). Everything was perfect. The pork was tender, the fries were some of the best I've ever had, Brussels were perfectly cooked and the naan was fresh and delicious. The tomatoes and cucumbers were so finely chopped that it was hard to grab them with a fork. The grilled chicken was pretty good, but that's about it. Waste of money! My wife said her pulled pork was dry and tasted like it was sitting there all day. We were here at noon, so no excuse for that at all. We even went close to closing and it was still great! We each got a plate with 2 sides and a hummus appetizer to share. To be honest, we could done without the hummus because the plate was huge but we got a little greedy! The hummus appetizer was absolutely delicious! So fresh and tasty and that pita is just unbelievable. For our plates we got: Plate 1: chicken, sautéed broccoli, and the spicy fingerling potatoes with the lemon garlic sauce and the cilantro sauce Plate 2: pulled Pork, sautéed broccoli, and the roasted potatoes with the lemon garlic sauce and the cilantro sauce Both plates came with rice and some pita and these were just amazing for the dollar value! This is my favorite place in the whole state of Georgia. Been going since 2018. My ideal order: Grilled Chicken Plate, sweet potatoes, broccoli or Brussels sprouts. They have basmati rice so if you aren't a fan you can sub for a salad, no extra charge. You must try the fries once atleast. Cooked to a perfect crisp texture. All the sauces are made in house and my favorite is the lemon garlic. The workers are friendly and don't change often which is an amazing sign. If you're wanting healthy and organic, hormone free foods, go here. The portion size is huge, I often get a chicken plate with two sides and can have left overs for my next meal. This is one of the best places I've eaten recently and such a pleasant surprise from most restaurants these days. Incredibly fresh and tasty ingredients with large portion sizes. You place your order by stepping up to the counter. Server was extra friendly, we chose a meat (chicken, pork) and then sides from the daily options. There was a line of sides on display. We chose sweet maple carrots and LA corn. The corn was great- best thing there for sure. Everyone was saying it in line and we agree. The daily side I chose (carrots) weren't cooked great. The meat was tender, and there were sauces available. We also got pulled pork. Highly recommend this choice. The pineapple was a good dessert for three to share, but probably wouldn't get again. As always, the staff is very friendly. They alway correct me and make me change up my order that helps me get more food and save a few pennies... Gotta love a restaurant that helps you enjoy the experience versus trying to make that extra coin. If you've never been you absolutely have no idea what you are missing. The wings are "MAKE YOU SLAP YO MOMMA" good and shoot to be honest, I don't think I've had a bad meal in this place. Fresh, delicious and nice atmosphere. This was our first time and we will definitely be back. It was all good. We put together our own meal and nothing disappointed. We had the LA Street Corn, green beans, Local Fries, hummus and a dozen smoked chicken wings. Tried all their sauces, but particularly like the BBQ and mustard based ones the best. The Local Fries had a lot of cool stuff on it, but could have used a little something with more of a zing. We still enjoyed them though. The staff was friendly and helpful and while the food is prepared after you order, it comes out quick. There is nothing better than the combination of fresh, tasty, quick, comfortable and good service. Like I said we will be coming back to try other things on the menu. read more
