I hired The House Whisperer expecting a thorough, careful evaluation of a major purchase, and came away disappointed on several fronts. From the start, Glenn made it clear that his #1 priority was getting through the inspection quickly so he could move on to his next appointment. He also made it quite clear that he wasn't interested in hearing about my priorities for the inspection, or in answering my questions. He seemed genuinely distracted throughout. He spent a lot of time on things that were not important to me, like interior door hardware, while missing things that I considered important (for example, a plumbing leak documented in prior inspection reports, and identifying the location of the HVAC filters that need periodic changing). The price charged ($1,485) was at the top end of what I was quoted by local firms. I expected the service to reflect that. It did not. read more

Glenn arrived 30 minutes earl and began immediately inspecting the outside of the property accessible from the front of the house. He was very thorough and completed our house inspection in 90 minutes. All findings were explained in detail orally at the conclusion of the inspection and he also provided recommendations for each. The townhouse I'm buying had two inspections: one by the seller and one with the House Whisperer by me, the buyer. Both inspection reports found basically the same defects. Glenn did a thorough job of inspecting, but more than that he did a great job explaining everything he found. Glenn inspected my house before I purchased it. I was running late and derailed his day by about 45 minutes. I ran up apologizing and he just smiled and assured me it was ok and he enjoyed the scenery (my home is in the hills).
