The Wave is a great service and if you're looking for a good time, call them instead of Uber. I started taking The Wave after I was introduced to it by a friend who went out multiple times a week and he had the membership so it was a great value. For $15 per person, you get an "All-Access" wristband which gives you unlimited rides all night. This is cheaper than a cab and if you plan on going to multiple places, cheaper than Uber. The Wave allows you to bring alcohol on-board so you can pre-game a little bit before you arrive at your destination. This is great if you have a large group of people because it really gets the party going. Riding this around closing time is a treat even if it takes a long time to get home, depending on the number of pick-ups/ drop offs the driver has to make. Drunk people dancing on stripper poles tends to be the highlight! The Wave can be reserved and has a small bar to store booze if you choose this option. I love The Wave! read more

The driver picked me up at a bar near my home (Eado area) where we parked at a meter for free and drove my date and me to minute maid for a concert. They picked us back up very near the venue and both rides we were riding with one other couple. Although this distance was not far, the total was $20 and parking for the event closer to minute maid was $60-$80. We had pit passes for the show and were standing most of the time. The wave is by far the GREATEST thing on this planet. It costs $15 to bar hop ALL night. If you live inner loop, they not only take you home, but they will pick you up all for just a one time charge of $15!!!!! So for just $15, you have the bus to your discretion. If Washington is slow that night, they'll pick you up and take you to Midtown for no extra charge. NOT TO MENTION THEY HAVE TEXTING ABILITIES!! You can text them at the bar when you are your friends are even considering leaving. The wait really isn't bad, you just have to plan accordingly. Sometimes they do those cool "$2 off" discounts but you have to ask. This company is awesome. All the drivers are young & fun. I'll never take a taxi again! As everyone said before, they will do large group parties for the jitney rate of $15. That doesn't ensure you have your own bus, though. Private rates are not bad at all and you can even split up the hours. They won't charge you while you are in the club!!!!! THIS COMPANY IS AMAZING!! Never riding the Wave again. Went out for my husband's 30th birthday and got the Wave to pick us up from Benjy's on Washington. I told the driver we were going to be going to Midtown as well as Washington, so all 8 in my party paid the $15 up front (vs. $10 for just Washington all night) . The driver gave us wristbands, and took us to our first stop on Washington. After we were done and ready to head to Midtown, I called the Wave to come pick us up, and they did. After driving around for 20 minutes, I was wondering why we were going in circles. Turns out, our (different) driver called to verify with the dispatcher that we had paid the extra to go to Midtown, and the dispatcher apprently called our 1st driver and he said we all onlly paid $10/each for the Washington portion. Bascially, all 8 people in my party were being called liars. I was in tears, my husband was cussing at the dispatcher on the phone. The poor driver didn't know what to do, so he kept driving in circles. One of my friends was threatening to call the cops if we were not dropped off in Midtown. This apparently caught his attention and we were finally dropped off where we were supposed to be. I noticed all the busses had cameras up front. Wave Staff, if you really want to know what happened to the extra money that you said you "never got" , I would check the security tapes from around 9PM on December 17th. If you look closely at your driver (Sean) I'm sure you will see where your "missing money" went to. (hint: his pockets). Never riding again. Telling all my friends. I'm disgusted. read more

Houston Wave is amazing. We used them to pick up and drop off our wedding party from our venue to an after party. Setting this up was a breeze with Lauren and gave us a great deal since we only needed a short ride. Mike Brown (our driver for the trip) arrived right on time and called us right before...super efficient. We actually had more people jump on the bus and had no problem fitting everyone. The shuttle has plenty of seats and rails (and pole) to hold on to. We had the music pumping and champagne flowing so it was the best 2 mile ride ever....it just became a party bus. This is a much better and more efficient than most other shuttle/bus companies. Other places wanted to charge a 4 hour minimum no matter what. read more

The Washington Wave is Washington Avenue's newest public transportation outlet and Houston's first jitney in 15 years. They charge only $8/night (unlimited rides) or $5 per ride. They also have a complimentary parking lot that does not tow on the weekend, so you can leave your car over night. The bus is a lot of fun - good music, fun people, dancing. The bus even has barf bags and hand sanitizer for emergency situations. It's a great solution to the over priced parking and congested streets. read more

If you are going out, forget Taxi's.....The Wave is the way to go! I live in the heights, which is where they run primarily. They pick you up at YOUR front door. We called and they were at our house within under 10 minutes. We paid $10 a person to be able to ride it all night, they give you a wristband. You go from bar to bar, from North 610 Heights to Washington bar heights. We went out for a birthday party and had the whole thing to ourselves. Dropped us off on East Washington at Liberty Station, then we walked Darkhorse, and then to the next Jitney stop at Sawyer Park. There are stops all up and down Washington. I've also been in the north Heights, and all we had to do was call from the bar we were at and they came and picked us up and took us to the next bar. There is cool lighting inside and music. The drivers are also usually really cool. Then at the end of your super fun night, they drop you off at your front door step. What an excellent service....be sure to tip! read more

The buses that the Wave rents out are tricked out with stripper poles, black lights and plush seating. They are definitely a crowd pleaser - everyone LOVED riding on the party bus! They took my name down and said they would be by to pick us up around 7PM. Around 6:30PM, they called me and left a message to let me know that they were on their way. I called them back and they knew who I was by name. When they arrived, the driver was so personable and offered to take pictures of our group in front of the bus. Such great customer service. The Wave puts Yellowcab to shame! We purchased the Yelp Deal of $10 for their cross-town services. You call and they will come pick you up at your house and pick you up at pretty much any location inside the loop. At $10pp, I never expected that most of the night, the 10 of us would pretty much have our own private party bus. We used the Wave to get our guests from our wedding reception to the hotel where many were staying. I was surprised that they were the most reasonable service of their kind I could find. They were professional and courteous. Our guests loved them! The time for their arrival got screwed up by me and when our coordinator called them about it (we needed them at 9, but I said 9:30), they immediately rushed over and didn't ask for a nickel extra. I rented one of these little jitneys for a company outing and the service was fantastic, start to finish! We had the bus to ourselves and the driver worked with us to pick us up at the hotel in the med center, take us around the Christmas lights in River Oaks, and to dinner at Hugo's. They also brought a cooler for us to store our adult beverages as we cruised around and let us plug in our phones to blast some Christmas tunes. It was a terrific night and they went above and beyond, letting us store the extra said beverages in their warehouse overnight so we could go directly to the bars after our outing. I have been riding the Wave for years, and over the last couple of months after moving to Memorial heights, it has been such a TREAT! This past St. Patty's day, organized a party for about 10, and I easily made a reservation with Leah by calling directly. They picked us up from our apartment, were RIGHT on time, and shuttled us over to Pub Fiction very quickly. It saved ALL of us from having to drive (HELLO DWI's) and from that dreaded St. patty's day parking! They are very reasonable, and extremely flexible. I absolutely love the Wave. It is such a great idea for Houston. Before there was Uber, I used to see people drink and drive all the time from Midtown. I only wish this had been around about 4 years ago when I was a big Midtowner. It is fun and safe. The drivers are pretty quiet but very reputable people. They are more than willing to play any station or hook up an iPod to the stereo. It's always a fun ride with loud music and blue lighting. You are also allowed to bring booze on the bus too. There aren't as many buses as Uber drivers obviously, so you may have to wait a little longer, but never too long. Also, the bus will only take and pick you up within the inner loop area of Houston. Back in the day, this would have never worked for me due to the fact that I live in Pearland. read more

We had a super experience on The Wave for the LSU game at NRG on Aug. 30. Sid, our driver, picked us up at two locations. We got to NRG in no time and had a great parking spot. Rode the Wave for the first time as part of transportation to and from the Houston Press Menu of Menu's 2013 event. The Wave drivers were polite and accommodating. The Wave buses are not created equally. Some have rows of seats like a traditional bus and others have a more open floor plan with seats only along the walls of the bus, similar to airport transportation shuttles. I really appreciated the Wave transporting me and other guests to the event. The ride to and from the event was free and shuttles were circling often, so I didn't wait more than 2 minutes for a ride. I had waited a long time to utilize the Wave as my friend was injured in an accident involving a Wave bus along Washington. Plus, I don't frequent the Washington area often. But now, I've seen Wave buses near Rice Village, which is generally my go-to place. So I may start to ride more often. A big thanks to the Wave for sponsoring the Houston Press Menu of Menus event by providing free transportation, which made parking a breeze and spared me from walking several blocks in my heels. read more

Also, I picked The Wave, not to make a bad review, but because I wanted to contribute to all the positive reviews. I finally spoke to Lauren, and we did clear things up. I admit it was wrong for me to say she didn't care about her patrons in my original review especially after not having yet spoke to her at the time my review was posted. To be simple in this review, The Wave did live up to it's expectations in the rental as far as fun, and purpose. Despite our set back, we did have a fun time, which I did mention in the original review. I hate to leave it up here without a follow up after having spoke to the company. My hotel recommended this shuttle for the evening. They showed up right on time, everything went via text. Very reliable and also went above and beyond. I was out for a Super Bowl event and solo for the evening. The dispatcher checked on me from time to time via text just to see if all was still good, if I was ready to move on or head back. AMAZING! Recently hired the wave for a bachelorette party that I threw and I have to say, it was AWESOME. It was only 15 dollar a person all night and they actually came to my house to pick us up and took us whereever we needed to go! The driver was EXTREMELY friendly and courteous and played really awesome music overhead. The pick up was so quick between places! It only took them 5 minutes to come get us whenever we called to get a ride to the next place. The bus itself was extremely clean, was black lit and had a pole..it was awesome! This is a REALLY great service that is definitely more affordable than getting a limo or catching a cab! Definitely will be catching the wave again!! read more

The Wave is definitely the best way to get around Houston. We wanted to go out on a Friday night for my friend's birthday and had a group of 20 people. I thought they wouldn't be able to accommodate us at such short notice, but they were ready when we were!
