The reviews for this aren't the best, and while I wouldn't go as low as 2 stars, I think 3.5 stars is fair. It's definitely on the pricier side for what you get. We booked for a Saturday and arrived right on time, although the bus itself was running a little late. We were seated right at the front, which was actually pretty cool. I really loved the tea-time setup, and my mom and I especially enjoyed the sandwiches. The desserts were just okay and nothing particularly memorable, while the teas themselves were a bit disappointing. There are essentially only 3 employees running the experience-a driver, a tour guide, and a waitress which doesn't feel like enough for a full bus. Since we were seated toward the back, our waitress kept running out of tea, and by the time she would make it back to us, it was already time for the next tea. The biggest letdown was the actual tour of Houston. As a Houstonian, I know quite a bit about the city, but I was hoping to learn some deeper history or interesting stories behind the places we were seeing. Instead, a lot of the tour consisted of pointing out restaurants, which felt pretty underwhelming and not really what I expected from a Houston tour. That said, the bus itself was perfectly pink and, surprisingly, not tacky at all. It's actually really cute and would make for a fun girls' brunch or a cute outing with your mom. DO NOT BOOK THIS BUS!!!! It is a scam with false advertising. I usually do not give bad reviews because I believe every business has a chance for improvement but I was really hoping all the bad reviews I saw after I and my sisters booked this bus tour was untrue. Unfortunately there was no lies told as we also had our own fair share of experience which completely ruined my birthday experience, left a sour taste in my mouth and had me screaming NEVER AGAIN!!!!This experience caused me extreme sadness especially with our waitress Nathalie being overly rude. I can't believe they hire someone like that to work in their organization. Anyways it is a poorly managed company because, First of all we booked the 2:30 Luxe package for March 15 2026. This was part of my birthday weekend celebration. Please do not waste your time. Even if you insist on going don't waste your money on the Luxe package. It is a marketing scam. We got a text that morning that the take off time was rescheduled to 3pm. Anyways we arrived on time. And note that there is nothing like priority boarding. Everyone just gets in. Secondly the customized tumblers were not available neither were there take out plates as promised. There were only cheap styrofoam cups. When we asked our server Nathalie about the tumbler she was Extremely Rude to us. First she tried to offer us mocktails as compensation and we told her the mocktails are already included in the Luxe package. That is when she then proceeded to raise her voice at us. She basically told us that "she does not own the business, and we should not argue with her (which we did not at all), and we should decide if we want tea or not, answer her yes or no and she does not have time for this". We could not believe our ears we just stared at her. Of course we could not accept anything from her after that, who would? However the second waitress Imani was very professionally and polite. Even with the air conditioning in the bus not working right she was sweating and still making sure everybody was doing ok. She apologized for her colleagues behavior. Now, there was suppose to be some entertainment and a tour experience with narration. Yeah, there was nothing like that. No music, No singing. This was just a hot uncomfortable bus ride filled with rude staff, disappointment and false advertising. I will not recommend even to my enemy. Please note that there are other fun things to do in houston with $214.34. Plus we paid $30 for parking per car. Also we were suppose to get a 3 tier sandwich tray we only got 2. What was supposed to be a special birthday celebration for me and my guests turned into a frustrating, uncomfortable, and frankly unacceptable afternoon. FAILURE TO PLAN Tea Around Town operates in multiple cities. With that comes a responsibility to stay informed about local events that could impact their operations. The St. Patrick's Day Parade in Downtown Houston on March 14, 2026 was a publicly scheduled civic event, and yet the company was completely unprepared for it. Our bus was supposed to depart at 12:00 PM. After I personally called to notify them of the situation, they offered a grace period of 12:05 PM, as if the problem was ours and not theirs. We did not board the bus until 1:30 PM, a 90-minute delay caused entirely by their lack of planning. To make matters worse, we had to walk THREE BLOCKS just to reach the bus. BREACH OF CONTRACT / FALSE ADVERTISING We paid for the LUXE package. Here is what the website promises vs. what we actually received: Souvenir cups -- NOT provided. We drank out of plain white paper cups. To-go boxes -- NOT provided. The food we paid for went to waste. Full tea menu as advertised -- NOT delivered. We only received 3 teas. Tour guide/host -- NOT present. Functioning AC -- The air conditioning on the bus was NOT working. It was hot and uncomfortable the entire ride. Adequate staffing -- The ENTIRE bus was managed by ONE waitress. If you are going to advertise a "Luxe" experience, you need to deliver a Luxe experience. This was far from it. ONE BRIGHT SPOT Kudos to Imani, the single waitress assigned to the entire bus. She remained professional, gracious, and hardworking under conditions that were completely unfair to her and to the guests. She deserves far better support from this company. BOTTOM LINE This was false advertising, poor planning, and a failure to deliver the services paid for. I have submitted a formal complaint and requested a full refund. I would not recommend this experience to anyone until this company demonstrates that it can actually deliver what it promises. Save your money. read more

Last year's Galentine's celebration was a truly delightful departure from the ordinary. We spent the evening touring downtown Houston, indulging in an array of light appetizers and exploring a diverse selection of teas, a highlight being the exquisite rose cherry blend. Admittedly, tea tasting wasn't something I would have sought out on my own, but the experience was a revelation; it allowed me to discover a newfound appreciation for the complexity of different flavors. Beyond the tasting, there was something special about the atmosphere, dressing up, singing along to the music, and soaking in the local history of the city. To update my review. I went back and gave them a second chance. This time to celebrate my daughter's birthday. I went 45 mins earlier than my time but I wasn't the one late this time, the bus came 12 20 there abouts. (I scheduled the 12pm bus ride) apart from them being late, everything went exceptionally well. We were greeted and ushered u to the bus to our designated seats which were decorated beautifully. Our host and the commentator made sure our ride went well by singing and telling us the different spots we were passing to sharing details of our teas. Our food was delicious and my daughter said that was the best tea party and days she's ever had so that made me happy. We were really looking forward to this experience as a special way to celebrate my best friend's birthday, but unfortunately it turned into a huge disappointment. The biggest issue was that the air conditioning on the bus was not working. We were told by staff that it had actually gone out three days earlier. With Houston under a heat advisory, I cannot understand why this experience wasn't canceled or at the very least rescheduled. Sitting on a bus with no A/C in that kind of heat was miserable and honestly felt unsafe. We were literally being baked alive. Because of the extreme heat, we couldn't enjoy the experience at all--not the beautiful scenery, the delicious-looking food, or even the hot tea that was served. It completely defeated the purpose of what should have been a relaxing afternoon tea. To make matters worse, the bus arrived about 30 minutes late. The experience was advertised as lasting 90 minutes (plus boarding time), but ours lasted only about 60 minutes, seemingly because it was so unbearably hot. We paid over $90 per ticket plus tax for three tickets, and it was absolutely not worth the cost under these circumstances. I do want to recognize the staff, who were incredibly kind, professional, and did everything they could to make the situation more pleasant. This review is not a reflection of them--they were wonderful. The responsibility falls on management for choosing to operate despite knowing the A/C had been broken for days during dangerously high temperatures. This should have been a memorable birthday celebration, but instead it ruined our afternoon. This was very heavily advertised on my social media, so my girlfriend and I decided to give it a go. We were on time, and the bus departed maybe 5 min late. The towers were already prepared, and we were given plastic tumblers for the tea. The bus looks beautiful from a distance, but close up, you can see that lots of the decor were becoming unglued. There were 6 teas, and they were bagged and served from a thermos. Sometimes, we had to down teas in a hurry in order to try the next one. Sometimes, we went long stretches of time without tea. The tour guide incorrectly described somewhere else as the Toyota Center, and one of the patrons had to point it out. However, her singing was truly phenomenal and the main reason I give this 2 stars and not 1. The food was not the same as what was represented online during booking. For example, one sandwich was supposed to be a triple decker but was just a regular sandwich. The food quality was mediocre at best. We felt it was heavily misrepresented. Restroom is very cute but very stinky. We ordered the lower price point option, as my friend has a seafood allergy and wasn't able to do the VIP option. I had the pleasure to join a group of Ladies on the TAT Bus on 07/26/2026 @ 2:30-4:30. Unfortunately, it was a disaster. The AC was out and they failed to notify us beforehand. Houston weather does not permit traveling around town without AC. However, the food was ok, and the decorations were pretty and the hostesses were nice, but it was hard to enjoy yourself when you are sweating on every inch of your body. I am so upset because this something I have always wanted to experience. Also, I felt as if the birthday girl and her sister were robbed of their special day. Tea Around Town is a cute concept; however, I feel like the execution is a bit lacking - at least here in Houston. The service offers a tea tasting complete with finger foods served on a double-decker bus that drives patrons around downtown to visit famous Houston attractions. To be clear, guests do not get off at each location but instead see it from the moving bus. The pink, double-decker bus is super cute with floral decorations, ornate cake stands, and pretty place settings at each table. It's perfect for taking pics for the Gram! Each table was placed next to an unobstructed window which made viewing the sites easy. Tickets came with a souvenir tumbler which was used during the experience to taste several different teas. The food made available to each table varied depending on the ticket type purchased. I bought the base fare which came with several different types of finger foods - mostly sandwiches and desserts. The quality of the food was very mid - nothing special but not terrible either. I definitely wouldn't recommend this experience based solely on the food or drink. The teas that were offered were okay, and I am guessing were simple tea bags steeped downstairs. Additionally, we did not receive all of the teas that the staff told us we would taste during the experience - I don't know if they ran out or forgot, but I know I didn't get to try all of the teas offered. During the bus ride, someone gave brief commentary about the sites we were seeing, but it was very minimal. Additionally, one of the servers sang several songs to entertain us. The experience was supposed to last a full hour and a half; however, our driver ended our experience 30 minutes early without explanation. This was very frustrating because I felt cheated out of my time and money. The website should not boast an hour and a half experience if the actual ride time can fluctuate so significantly. 0/10 Our booked LUXE tour with the company was on Sunday, February 2nd @ 1:30PM. Due to unexpected maintenance needed, our bus was late by 30 minutes, we were told that the AC was broken as one groups who attended before our booked time was getting off the bus. This detail that was extremely flawed and kept us absolutely UNCOMFORTABLE. It's a warm day in Houston, high of 77-79 degrees in an enclosed space with windows we couldn't open was HORRENDOUS. Our food was warm and bread was stale. There was NO LOBSTER ROLL (Costco would give me a better sample than what was provided), no caviar, just disgusting and ICE was so hard to come by. I don't want hot ass tea, in a hot ass muggy bus. The servers kept apologizing for being so hot, definitely not their fault but to have customers pay over $120/person for this LUXE package was ridiculous. I could have had a 12-18 course omakase from one of my favorite 5 star sushi restaurant without dirty silverware. A group of us took the "Tea Around Town" tour through downtown Houston, and it was a charming experience! The bus was beautifully decorated in pink and white, creating a lovely ambiance. We all sat upstairs, and there were two pricing options based on the menu: the Luxe package for $109 and the Petite package for $75. The menu featured finger sandwiches, desserts, and scones. Upon arrival, we were welcomed with a cute pink rose mocktail, and we had the option to choose from three different teas. There was also live entertainment during the ride, with a singer performing a mix of songs, mostly opera typed, while narrating and pointing out various downtown landmarks. Unfortunately, the microphone wasn't working properly, so it was difficult to hear her. The entire ride lasted 90 minutes round trip. 1 Star - Completely Unprofessional & Ruined My Daughter's Birthday I booked Tea Around Town Houston for my daughter's 6th birthday on March 8, and the experience was unbelievably unprofessional. Our reservation time was 12:00 PM, and the instructions clearly state to arrive 15 minutes early, so we arrived at 11:45 AM exactly as directed. It was raining, and we waited outside expecting the bus to arrive shortly. Instead, we received multiple text messages pushing the boarding time back. The time kept getting delayed again and again. The last message said the new boarding time would be 2:30 PM. We waited. 2:30 PM came and went. No bus. No staff. No update. No explanation. What is even more unacceptable is that after 2:30 PM there was absolutely no communication at all. No message saying the experience was cancelled, no apology, nothing. We were simply left standing outside in the rain for hours with a child on her birthday waiting for something that never happened. This was supposed to be a special birthday experience for my daughter, and instead it turned into hours of confusion, waiting, and disappointment. The biggest issue here is the complete lack of communication and accountability. Delays can happen, especially with weather, but ignoring customers and leaving them waiting for hours without any update is unacceptable. A company that sells experiences for birthdays and special occasions should understand how important those moments are for families. The way this situation was handled shows a serious lack of professionalism and customer care. At this point I am requesting a full refund for our tickets, and I hope the company will do the right thing and resolve this quickly. If not, I will be forced to pursue a charge dispute with my bank and continue sharing this experience so other families are aware before booking. My sister and I did the Houston Tea Bus on May 15th. I was very disappointed, as it wasn't a "tour" of Houston at all since the attendant told us that their microphone wasn't working and that they couldn't let us know anything about what we were seeing on the "tour." I do think that we should get a refund of some sort.  Another gripe, there weren't enough staff to serve us. We got a small sample of one flavor of tea, then had to wait about 15 or more minutes before we were served another bit of tea. In the meantime, we didn't have anything to wash down the sandwiches. I think you should give a bottle of water to each of the passengers in the future.  The staff was friendly and courteous and overall it was fun. The bus was beautifully decorated both inside and out. There was enough food to satisfy in the Petite Tea for a lunch meal. Great idea for a business, but work out some kinks. read more

We boarded around 1150, everything was set up and ready for us. They pulled off around 1210. The bus itself was adorable and ALL of the staff were friendly and super helpful. My only big minus was the bathroom was NOT working on our bus and as someone with an itty bitty bladder that was concerning. Prior to boarding they said we could go use the facilities at the nearby library..but they were not open yet. Other than that the whole experience was great. They continually refilled our tea and had a nice selection available. The tea sandwiches and pastries were all very delicious. I wish they had wine or mimosas available but the bus was no alcohol. They did have non-alcoholic wine available, it wasn't good though. We did this as a last hurrah before leaving Houston and it was a nice little addendum to our trip . Tea, Heat, and Defeat: A Lukewarm Adventure My friend has me out here living my best Bridgerton fantasy, and I'm not mad about it. So when she said we had tickets to Tea Around Town, I was READY... fluffy dresses, pinkies up, all of it! We took an Uber to the pickup location in downtown Houston, took some cute pics outside the bus: because priorities, and then boarded, fully expecting a charming, elegant experience. And you know what? The setup was adorable, very Downton Abbey meets Instagram chic. But that's where the fairytale ended. Let's start with the food. The platter of goodies was sitting there waiting for us... and it tasted like it had been waiting for us. The pastries? Stale. The finger sandwiches? Either rock-hard or tragically soggy, depending on which unfortunate bite you took. And the tea? Oh, the tea. Served piping hot... in a bus... with NO air conditioning. No windows. No breeze. Just vibes and sweat. When I asked for ice, they looked at me like I had personally offended their ancestors. As for the ride around town, I blinked and it was over, maybe 25 min of Houston scenery before we were back where we started, slightly dehydrated and questioning our life choices. Would I go back? I don't know if I could add or say anything extra in these reviews that haven't already been said...I don't think I can but here we go. I could have found a better way to have spent 80 bucks per person. Although I did like the concept of the whole tea round town bus, It failed to even live up to my wildest expectation in my mind. The bus was dirty, the fingernails of the server were dirty. I really just don't know. There was no music, no tour guide, no souvenir cups. The tour was actually booked at 2:30pm, the bus arrived at 6pm. The finger food and desserts were actually pretty tasty and the tea was good. We were offered tea at the end of the tour for an extra price...ah, no. What can actually be offered as improvement is a total rebranding of this whole business and getting some actual staff. This was the beginning of my birthday weekend, and I have to say, I could have spent that money different ways. Such as on a massage or something else, holistic. Also, they refuse to let you take pictures or even film video, add that to a birthday experience for a lifetime. All in all, my expectations were set way too high for the delivery of the experience. Tea Around Town was a big disappointment--overpromised and underdelivered. We booked the Luxe experience at $99 per person, expecting something special, but it wasn't worth the extra $30. The lobster roll was sad (see photos here versus what is in their website menu), and there was no caviar at all. The Spring Delight mocktail was basically flavored water with a swizzler, and the so-called priority boarding made no sense. We boarded with everyone else. The double-decker bus itself is cute, and having tea in a tumbler was a reasonable safety measure, but we could have poured our own tea for a more authentic experience. The narration wasn't great--driving through downtown Houston could have been zhuzhed up a bit. I can see this being fun for a special occasion, but skip the upgrade--it's not worth the extra cost. The bus is really pretty with flowers and rhinestones . The top has a nice view with glass roof. The tables were pre set with cups and hor d oeuvres and desserts. The cucumber sandwich, the caviar , the spinach , the lobster roll , chesse cake . The hosts are attentive and the live performance waa nice she has a nice voice which was nice . My friends surprised me with tickets to Tea Around Town for my Birthday. It's a tour around Houston's downtown area. We are from Houston but it was a nice experience to have afternoon tea while riding through the city. The bus is decorated super cute and the staff Greg, Amani and Ashley were very accommodating and friendly. It was the Cheveron Marathon and they even waited for a few people that were running late knowing that there were road closures. The pretty lady that sings the majority of the ride was welcoming and sounded pretty good. My favorite teas were the Cinnamon and the tea that included the African Root. There were some treats that I liked on the tiered tray and some not too much. This tour would be perfect for all ages. It was something different and that is what I loved. read more

Kathy Brabson In the last 6 months I have taken each of my three granddaughters on separate tea around town events in Houston. The first two experiences were great. The last experience in March was horrible and very disappointing. Until they get things corrected, do not do Tea around Town in Houston. You will be so disappointed. I am posting this review after trying to contact the company with no luck. The customer service line is automated and directs you to the app to file any Feedback. I submitted very detailed information on my experience. Other than an automated acknowledgment that my communication was received I have not received any Followup from the Company. The most recent tea around town began as normal with greetings from the staff and picture taking. When my five year-old granddaughter and I got on the bus, I noticed there wasn't the normal cute, reusable, and closeable containers for the hot tea. Instead just cardboard cups. With no lid. Not a good combination for a five-year-old -a moving vehicle, an open container and hot tea. One spilled cup of hot tea later we decide tea is not going to be part of our tea around town experience today. The employee said they were having "supply" issues. Shortly after the tour started, they announced the bathrooms on board were not working. Another challenging combination with a five-year-old. After that announcement on the PA system and one song, the PA system did not work anymore. So no entertainment, and no tour guide pointing out the various places we were passing. Highly disappointing. My five-year-old granddaughter had heard from her other two siblings about the awesome singing on board, and was so disappointed that she didn't get that experience. And the crème de la crème of our experience, the air-conditioning on the bus did not work. March in Houston. It was stifling and miserable. And apparently opening windows was not an option. The staff kept saying they were working on it. But I have a sweat soaked dress that can testify there was no air-conditioning. My granddaughter and I could not wait to get off that stifling sweat box after 90 minutes of no tea, no entertainment, and no bathroom. So if you're looking for an experience that looks like what they're advertising, do not take this tour in Houston. If you're looking for a company that you can actually call customer service and speak to someone about your concerns, don't book here. If you're looking for a company, that will actually respond to your concerns, not here either. Since the company has not responded, I have filed a dispute with my credit card company. The morning of the experience, they texted me saying the bus would leave 15 minutes after the scheduled time. No problem, my mom and I headed to the meeting point that afternoon. Shortly after we arrived, they texted saying it'll be an hour later than the scheduled departure time. 45 minutes later, they texted saying the tour's been cancelled. This was a surprise I'd planned for my mom's birthday, and we and the other ladies waiting for the bus were all disappointed. (A nearby security guard said that the week before, the bus had been THREE HOURS late.) They emailed me an offer to receive a 50% refund & reissue of the tickets for another date. No other compensation was offered, so I responded within minutes, saying I'd like to proceed with the offer. I still have yet to receive a reply. The customer service was zero. We were told to arrive 15mins prior to departure. We arrived at 2:05pm, departure was supposed to be at 2:30p. The bus arrives at 2:08p, people get off and the bus drives off. No one exited the bus to say we will be back or anything. We get a text at 2:13p stating the 2:30p departure would be at 3:15p. Another text stating it will be 25 mind later, and then the last text stated 4:15pm. Horrible management and customer service! So sad that they would do people like this. Horrible. Made reservation for 22 people ( must pre pay) must be out front at 12 noon sharp as bus will leave if you're not there. Our group was from suburbs so go there at 11:00 in case of traffic's since this is downtown Houston. Bus never showed and when we called they said they emailed us at 11:30 that they cancelled. Too bad you can't choose zero stars. Bus was over an hour late. We never got to make any stops as advertised.No to go boxes for left over food...which we had a lot of as our 1 1/2 hour trip was only an hour. My daughter -in-law bought this as a Christmas gift for my daughter and I and she was robbed of $135 each. Wasn't even worth $35. What a waste of time and money. I did the tea around town today with my girlfriend and her family, it was great! So much fun, the desserts and sandwiches were different, not awful, just different. Anja, our tour guide, was awesome, and so was our tea server i think her name was stellar. The cute little collectible cup was adorable. I have always wanted to experience this, and glad I did. My only complaint is that those stairs to get up there are treacherous, so take your time! :) read more

Just wow!!! This was an amazing experience and I highly recommend it!!! The food was yummy and just kept coming. The service was above and beyond with a kind server who met our every need and then some. The bus was beautifully decorated, and we were being serenaded while we were driving by Emari (sp?) who had an amazing voice and was also telling us about different parts of downtown Houston. What kind of afternoon tea has no tea? Pro: cute decor. That's it. Not worth the $270 price we paid for 2 people (luxe package, but did not get the luxe items). Waste of time and money. Jordan, the supervisor on board, promised us a full refund and told us to email corporate. We emailed and they won't provide us a full refund, but instead offer to comp our next tickets. I'm writing this here because they have yet to respond to my email so i will be posting until I get my money back Dear Tea Around Town Management, I am writing to formally complain about my recent Tea Around Town experience on February 7,2026 and to request a refund due to services that were not delivered as advertised. The bus arrived approximately one hour late, which alone was a significant inconvenience. Additionally, the experience was advertised as including a live singer, yet no live entertainment was provided. Most concerning was that the bus ride lasted only about 40 minutes, despite being marketed and sold as a 90-minute experience. These issues represent a clear failure to meet reasonable consumer expectations and constitute false advertising, as the service provided materially differed from what was promoted and purchased. Had the experience been accurately described, I would not have agreed to the booking under the same terms. Due to the delay, missing advertised features, and substantially shortened duration, the experience did not fulfill the basic expectations of the service sold. I am therefore requesting a full refund for this experience. Please respond promptly with details regarding how this matter will be resolved. I look forward to your timely response. read more

I enjoyed it but mostly for the social aspect. It's a cute concept. I thought it was a cute starter business until I was informed that this was in multiple cities. For that reason, it was a 3 star experience at best. Too hot even in mid April, no air flow or fans with scorching hot tea. The tea was too hot to enjoy in time for the next tea. Easy to burn yourself with a moving bus. I wished they had iced tea options. Cream and sugar were available on request only and arrived more than halfway through the service. Food was better than most high tea offerings. I don't think the $30 upgrade was worth it based on the selection provided to the table next to us. Interior decor of our bus was more fitting for preteen birthday celebrations and the DIY of it all left a lot to be desired. Live singing but I do wish they introduced her at the beginning to increases tips and allow people to appreciate it more. The service was good and I liked our servers. Symone, Immone, and Freddie were overall great Seating could have been a bit more thoughtful and the servers should have a card with Venmo or QR code for tip sharing. I would not come again. I might suggest it for my nieces bday but I'm not sure if her age is the target audience. But it should be. read more

I'm always looking for unique experiences and decides to take my mother for an early Mother's Day present! Our staff consisted of Ayaiya, Terri, Le Terrat, and Niecy! (Sorry if names are spelled wrong) Everyone was super knowledgeable and kind. My mom and I had a wonderful experience and ate many delicious treats during our ride through Downtown Houston! The inside of the bus was cute, clean, and instagram worthy! I recommend the Luxe package as well as bringing a little sweater on board as it can get a little chilly. Make sure to arrive that 15 min early so you can find parking! It can be a bit difficult! read more

It was a nice experience and I really appreciated the concept. We had just flown in and wanted to look around Downtown Houston. If we call it a tour maybe more places to look at. The tea was good just some tastes of different teas. The food was OK. The scone was more biscuit meets shortbread but had good flavor.
