This is ALWAYS my first stop when I get off the ferry in Nantucket! No trip to the Island is complete without a Tropical Madness Smoothie - pineapple, guava, passionfruit, mango - oh my goodness, it's the best. I literally look forward to waiting in line because that's at the end of the wait. And yes, there is a line, but it moves quickly. As you wait, you can also browse their extensive selection of gifts and souvenirs, greeting cards, housewares, and magazines, as the cafe doubles as a corner store. Super cute and charming. The menu also features breakfast and lunch sandwiches, coffee (my boyfriend is obsessed with the Mocha), and of course, the Morning Bun pastries, which are totally worth the wait as well. Overpriced but well cultivated souvenir shop and small cafe on Main street. Things like christmas ornaments, and Nantucket themes water bottles and tote bags. Also a small set of Beach Reads like Elin HIlderbrand. I did not order from the small counter cafe, but it was things like coffees and smoothies and a few snacks. We have been going to the Hub in Nantucket for over 15 years. In the past we have found the staff to be pleasant and welcoming. This year, however, we have had multiple instances of the staff being rude, unhelpful, and kind of nasty. This happened with different members of our family on different occasions. I was looking to feed my addiction to coffee. I saw everyone with ice coffee so I new there had to be a place serving it. The Hub had a coffee bar which offered a selection of coffees. Basically whatever you are looking for, they can make. They made my coffee exactly how I like it; black. The Hub was a combination coffee shop/ convenience store. I sat out front on a bench to savor my coffee and watch all the activity. You can't ask for a better front porch than Main Street in Nantucket. read more

I wouldn't recommend coming here for an espresso shot-type drink. The guy with the Russian accent was pretty rude to my mom when she was trying to clarify what kind of milk she wanted in her latte. I was sorry that he ended up being the one to make our drinks. A subpar drink is fine but not at $7. Last year we went to the Hub every morning for coffee and newspapers while on vacation. This year we went once and decided we won't be going back for anything but a paper. For $16(two drinks plus tip) drinks should be good and attitude -free. Also, they seriously have 4-6 people behind the counter sometimes but they mostly seem to be chatting. It feels like you have to interrupt their conversation to get helped. read more

The Hub is not what everybody says it is. It's far too crowded, terrible smoothies, average coffee and bagel. There are certainly other places that you can get these things!!!! My smoothie was basically ice and turned into a half melted icee. read more

They have some of the worst customer service I've seen. There wasn't any hello or have a nice day. The lady at the register was very rude. We bought a book and some candy but I really wanted to take it back. Please treat all customers with respect despite race or ethnicity. I would have hoped someone the same race as I am would treat me with respect but I guess it's opposite here. Really cute store in a really good location in the heart of downtown cobble stone Nantucket. All kinds of great beverages hot or cold and the flaky pastries are home made amazing. The staff is ok but then again always busy and that says allot for The hub considering all the stiff competition on the Nantucket strip. I go grab a pastry and a hot chocolate my wife loves the latte and we sit on a bench out side and enjoy the scenery. A hub is in the center This Hub is indeed in the center of the Nantucket world. Right in the middle of Main Street, you almost have to go by it no matter where you go on the island. It's a small place but because of it's location, extremely convenient. .Need a candy bar in a hurry? You can get one here. Potato chips? No problem. Dying of thirst and can't go another step without something to drink? This place will save your life. Newspaper or magazine? No worries. Of course since Nantucket gets a lot of tourist or "people from America" as they like to call mainlanders, The Hub also has plenty of trinkets and typical souvenir stuff. This is also convenient because I have a friend that expects a refrigerator magnet every time I go somewhere. The magnets on her frig probably weigh more than the refrigerator itself but I can just go here and get the mandatory magnets, postcards, trinkets or crummy t-shirts and not have to worry about it later. The people working at The Hub are friendly and full of information. A great place to ask directions or details about a particular event on the island. They are patient and answer any stupid questions without the supercilious snootiness that you sometimes can get from natives of the island. Last time I was there I knocked over a display of postcards and almost wiped out the entire store. No problems, the young lady behind the counter just helped me pick it up and laughed. Didn't call me an idiot or anything although I sure she was thinking it. Outside the store there is a couple of little benches. A great place to sit and eat a treat and watch the traffic on Main Street go by. In the off season it's where the locals loiter and hang out so it's a nice place to catch up on the local gossip and talk to people. The Hub isn't the biggest place and like all of Nantucket, it certainly isn't cheap. But if nothing else this hub is indeed in the center of it all. read more

The Hub is a nice convenience store type of place with Nantucket prices. Not much else to say. I usually stop in to get an Arnold Palmer. It isn't a fancy drink, but it costs $4, which is on par for drinks of this nature here. They have some other food offerings such as a salmon spread (good, but pricy) and select baked goods. You can grab a souvenir or a magazine on your way to the ferry. Or sit out on the benches and watch the seasonal crowd go by. Not a bad place to stop in every so often. read more

I used to buy my Archie's comics here in the 60's and later walked there every day to get Dad the T&G and the Inquirer Mirror when it came out..our summer vacations revolved around stops at The Hub. I went back with my boyfriend this weekend...it's a great spot to buy a book or magazine..much neater and organized then previous years. The bulletin board outside is an island landmark. The hub is like the Hallmark of Nantucket. It's a perfect place to get the local paper and some relatively kitchy Nantucket souvenirs. However, lots of their souvenirs are unlike what you'd find at Four Winds or another store in town. Everything in here screams "Nantucket"! read more

I love the hub for the vegan chile (available in the off season) the shell night lights, the iced teas and the most genuine good vibes. If the menu sign clearly says that a bagel with lox is $5, then you shouldn't ring it up at $9 and say the sign is not correct.

2.94 for an ice coffee and it taste awful and there frapps are $8 for a medium. There lg water was 2.25 I could have got it on the Cape for 1.29.Tthey are way over priced and drinks are horrible we wont be going there every again. read more

Great place to have coffee and other drinks like smoothies. The croissants are the best on the island. The customer service is can be improved but still is very good comparing it to other coffee places. This place is very fast paced and they even have a person as an traffic controller to direct customer to the registers when they are free. We have been coming here for 31 years and the Hub staff is now surly and non-responsive to the customer. I have asked for a latte with 2% milk twice this week and been lied to as I watch the barista only steam up the whole milk and pour it into the cup. When I ask if in fact that is 2%, they say it is. This is not the truth as I just watched her pour it from the whole milk jug. This has happened twice with two different baristas. The plastic caps do not fit the cups because they are so cheaply made and the staff never smiles. They seemed bothered that you placed an order. Go someplace else. read more

I tried to give a visual on how to mix milk and how quickly it can be done. "The barista is really busy. It would mess her up." This is a newsstand trinket store which sells lousy espresso with an attitude to match. I asked for a double macchiato ,woman says macchiato comes in one size despite blackboard displaying prices for single and double. The espresso is bitter and burnt, no seating inside , must sit on bench out front. SH&t out of luck if they are all taken or it's raining. read more

Nice grab-and-go spot for coffee, tea, or a pastry. They also do lunch specials (soup/sandwich) which are pretty good. I'm into the turkey, stuffing, and cranberry on a baguette. The prices are higher than I'd like so I don't stop by daily, but it definitely helps with an occasional hankering. The gift shop-type items are way overpriced but sometimes you can find a decent bargain in the sale section. I'll usually grab a card or small gift here in a pinch. read more
