We visited here recently on a rainy day. It was full but we just waited a bit before we were able to get tables. The sandwiches are great and fresh. I got a turkey terrific sandwich which is one of their specialties here. It comes in Portuguese bread which just tastes like white bread to me but super fresh. It's definitely popular on the island. The turkey is a bit like deli meat style turkey and I appreciated that the cranberry sauce was not overly sweet so it made for a perfectly balance bite. This was my first stop after landing on the island! I heard such great things about their sandwiches so I had to grab a bite to eat here when I was starving from being on the plane. I ordered the Caprese but unfortunately they were out of the ciabatta that it comes on. I came during early lunch too so I was a little sad that they were already out of the bread. Went to order breakfast 2 weeks ago around 9:30 am. Got to the front of the line and they said they were entirely out of all breakfast ingredients (how a deli with breakfast service simultaneously runs out of all eggs, English muffins, bagels, bacon, lox, and frittata is beyond me.) went back today. Arrived around middle of breakfast service. Got to the front of the line and they said they were out of all 7 types of bagels. Considering 2 of the four breakfast items involve bagels, that's not great. I ordered egg sandwich on English muffin ($9 and they hold device out and watch as you select tip amount. Can we stop with the tips on counter service already). I waited on nearby bench over 30 minutes for my food. When you are only offering two menu items for breakfast, neither really customizable, it shouldn't take over a half hour. Requesting a tip is even more egregious given the abysmal speed and service. Food was tasty enough, but was essentially an egg mcmuffin at 4x the price and 1/60th the speed. Decent food but bordering on unacceptable service and value. They should be thankful they have a captive audience on the island read more

Cool little sandwich place right at the wharf a stone's throw from the High Speed Hy-Line Ferry. A great place to grab sandwiches on the way to/from the ferry or for a picnic/hike/beach trip. My favorite place for sandwiches. Turkey Terrific is a must Devour. It is Roast, Sliced Turkey, Stuffing, Cranberry Sauce, Mayo (i think) on Fresh White Bread all served warm- Thanksgiving Leftovers in the heart of Summer! All the bread is great but I'm not sure where it comes from. Also, Classic Caprese Sandwich, Curry Chicken, Cuban, The other Turkey sandwich with bacon, pickled scallions and some cheese - I think- All the sandwiches are really good and not so enormous that you can't eat it all. They do a great summer business and generally always do a super great job putting out hundreds of meals per day. We usually get it to go for the beach and they are just so so good. Important side note- Their website was not available and I don't think they take too much care of it- You can't order on line as of late- as I said, they get very busy and it is a multicultural staff so when you call it's loud and the person on the phone can't really hear you nor you them. Be prepared to deal with parking nightmares when you go pickup- also double check they give you what you order- they have made that mistake a few times with me. All in all- I/ we love Provisions. A definite staple of Nantucket with ferry goers flocking to the proverbial provision dock for the "original" bacon egg sandwich (please add crushed avocado for a little something extra)--beware that their breakfast closes at 10:30!
