The Hub Pub one of Boston's hidden gems casual and relaxed pubs. The old school pub was excellent the bartender was totally a good guy. The food is really good had a bowl of clam chowder with crackers and a beacon hill cheeseburger with fries was really good and the fries were cooked awesome. The Hub Pub worth the visit for a cold beer.

The girls & I just stopped in for a quick bite. The service was great, super kind, and helpful! We tried some apps: nachos, mozzarella sticks, and chicken bites. Nothing outstanding, but good paired with some drinks! I could tell it's a cozy place filled with regulars and friendly locals.

Great bar in downtown Boston....thank you Dasha and pretty girl for great service....cool dive...cold beers... great patrons .

Had such a great time here! The atmosphere was fun, the food was delicious and the beer was cold. But the real highlight of the evening was our bartender Scotty who crafted us handmade roses. He was so kind and attentive. He made the whole experience for us, we'll definitely be back!

A must stop in Boston. Willie (owner) was a great host, and Scottie, Miranda and MJ rocked it behind the bar. Had a blast (2 days in a row). And try the Haddock bites! Had fun at Beantown Pub also (same ownership), but really loved the vibe here.

Cheers from the excellent Hub Pub!!!!

My wife and I are regular visitors to Boston and every time we visit, we have to make a stop at The Hub Pub! We met Scotty (bartender/server) more than a few visits ago and he is the best! He provides excellent and friendly service. His music selection is also on point! He creates a fun and relaxed atmosphere that makes people want to come back! You can tell how good he is by the reaction of the regular customers. The food is awesome as well! Great beer selection tops it off! I definitely recommend this spot for anyone who is in the area!! Check it out!!!

Stopped in for a quick bite. Very quick service and excellent bartender. Definitely more of a casual place and the perfect spot for a drink. The burger was perfectly sized, had an excellent sesame bun, and came with great fries

Scotty is an absolute gem! Great tunes, good food and great drinks. Stopped in here to get away from the rain and I'm glad I did.

Great Lobster roll for just $21! But only open 11-2pm. (Not sure how this Pub didn't make Yelp's cheapest lobster roll list?)

The place was hyped up online but when we got there, it was not what we expected and just went right back to AT O'Keeffe's for dinner! Although I don't eat burgers cause they are too filling, I ordered the smash burger. It was delicious! The calamari was so perfect! Best I've ever had. We also ordered the chicken wings and had to try the fish and chips. Everything was amazing. The only thing we didn't really go for was the clam chowder. Even though it was more authentic then some other places we had it at for our Boston chowder marathon, the potatoes were cut too big and it wasn't as thick and creamy as we like. Again, Thank You Darius for being such a great server! We appreciate the quick service and attention - from 5 hungry girls on Friday night!

The guys at the bar were really nice and food came out pretty quickly. I ordered the fish sandwich and upgraded my fries to truffle fries. My sandwich was yummy, with a good size fish fillet. I'm sure it's great, I should have ordered the talked about Chicken sandwich or burger. lol Next time!

The walls tell stories, the lighting is comfortably dim, and the place feels genuinely lived-in rather than styled for Instagram. It's the sort of space that invites lingering, conversation, and a pint or two more than you planned. The food is solid if not exceptional, hitting the marks you expect from a Boston institution of its kind. You won't find inventive plating or culinary surprises here, but that's not what JJ Foley's is about. It's a place that trades innovation for consistency, which in itself has value. The main drawback comes when the place fills up. Service becomes noticeably strained, and something as simple as getting a drink refill can take long enough to test your patience. When it's quieter, the staff are friendly and attentive, but at peak hours the experience slides from cozy to crowded. Still, JJ Foley's endures not because it's perfect, but because it knows exactly what it is: an honest, old Boston pub that's still standing tall while others try to chase trends. It's imperfect, familiar, and worth the visit.
