This is a beautiful space located in Ybor. Sadly it was raining, but the outside patio will be lovely to visit when the weather is nice. The inside is charming and decorated nicely. We shared the chicken Tikka Masala and chicken saag with garlic naan (of course!). Everything was delicious and we enjoyed the Taj Mahal beer and Rupee IPA with our meal. I definitely recommend getting an Indian beer with dinner! Our server was very friendly and took good care of us - honestly all the staff was really nice. We didn't feel rushed and really were able to enjoy our dinner and conversations before the check came. This will definitely be our local go to for Indian food. Service, despite it being a buffet, was attentive and helpful. I could understand the crowds waiting to be seated. This time when we arrived, there was no wait and many empty tables. Hmm . . . Then the food - bland, bad, and not fresh. The paneer was tough, the chicken chewy, and all greasy in a very bad way. This is in comparison to our previous meals as well as our experience eating in some acclaimed Indian restaurants. Service was abysmal. The staff grouped by the station without purpose - no one asking if we wanted drinks, how our meal was, or even offering the bill. Given this, it's highly unlikely that we'd ever try it again. Our typical Saturday includes a visit to their food truck at the St. Pete Saturday Morning Market held at Al Lang Stadium. We typically order the ALWAYS DELICIOUS Chicken Tikka Masala. The Momo Spot is in the food court, a 5 minute walk away from Elev8, and so much of an upgrade from the food I expected to find in the mall. And it was all delicious! Of course, I had planned on eating in the food court, and, while I certainly was able to open and close the containers to eat, the set up of the Momo Spot as a takeout place in a food court is a bit of a mismatch. Also, the food prices and portions (and lack of available knives amount the plastic cutlery dispensers) are for family dining, not in a food court. So, if you are by yourself and want to try Nepalese/Himalyan food, come here prepared to spill rice on the table.
