Copper Indian Cuisine in Westchase was an excellent find. The restaurant is beautifully decorated -- there's a small bar when you first walk in, but the back dining area is really elegant, cozy, and thoughtfully designed. It immediately feels like a great place to sit down and enjoy a relaxed meal. Service was excellent. Our server, Dominic, was very attentive and gave helpful recommendations throughout the meal. Everything we ordered was delicious. The flavors were bold and well balanced, and the medium spice level was perfect -- flavorful with just the right amount of heat without being overwhelming. I also asked for extra yogurt sauce just in case things got spicy, and that ended up being the perfect cooling addition. What we ordered: * Taj Mahal Premium Lager -- crisp, light, and refreshing. A great pairing with the spices in the meal. * Samosa Chaat -- we were told this is a traditional Indian street food. It consisted of vegetable samosas chopped up and topped with yogurt sauce, chutneys, and special spices, creating a great balance of creamy, tangy, and savory flavors. * Garlic Naan -- warm, soft, and perfectly garlicky. * Tandoori Platter -- a generous assortment of tandoori chicken, lamb chops, and shrimp, cooked in the tandoor with beautiful smoky flavor and spices. The platter was served with basmati rice and sauces on the side, which complemented the meats perfectly. Most of the meal was gluten-free, with the exception of the naan and the samosa chaat appetizer. I do wish they offered gluten-free naan or samosas, which would make an already great menu even more accessible. They also offer weekday and weekend happy hours (I included a photo of the menu for anyone interested). We will definitely be back. This will easily become our go-to Indian restaurant in the area. read more

Hands down the best Indian food I have ever had. My review in summation is that this is a must try. We ended ordering one of the vegetarian prefix brunch menus and it was fantastic. We also did chicken 65, and a vegetable curry. The prefix menu could not have the spice level adjusted however I found it tolerable (I have a reasonably high spice tolerance) and the other items we asked for mild and they were perfect. The service was top notch. Extremely friendly and personable staff, we felt welcome from the beginning. We also had the chef come and check on us and the part that stood out to me is that everyone working here was happy and proud of their food. The interior of the restaurant is very nice. I loved the setup and the lighting. It was perfect for a romantic evening and for enjoying food with friends. I will absolutely come back. This is now one of my favorite restaurants in Tampa. The staff and excellent food made this an experience I will remember. read more

We were sooo excited when we saw there was a new Indian place in Westchase! Usually we have to drive 20 mins for Indian food and it's always very average tasting dishes. However, this place kills it! The dishes are very flavorful and portion sizes are big. My favorite is the butter chicken and lamb Rogan Josh. It is so delicious. The garlic naan is full of garlic pieces and soft. I love this new restaurant and this is now my go-to Indian place! You have to try it or you'll be missing out! read more

Absolutely fantastic. The service was great- very friendly and amicable and the ambience was nice as well. We appreciated the chef came out after the meal to introduce himself and the compliments to him were well deserved. We were immediately impressed when we asked for filtered water, and actually received filtered water. From there, we knew everything would be excellent. Our pumpkin soup came out first. I'll have to say that every ingredient in every dish was fresh, and you could taste that. The soup was simple, earthy, flavorful, creamy, with a little kick from the chili oil garnish. The lassi was bright, smooth, and the cardamom complimented the mango so well, without overpowering it. For our main dishes, we ordered the ghee seared lamb chop, butter chicken, and malai chicken. We had two naans, which we saw were being rolled out upon order in the kitchens. I want to highlight the lamb; it was beautiful. The meat itself was fresh and tender and I appreciated the seasonings offered texture to the sear and enhanced the underlying lamb flavor, instead of trying to mask it. The sauce that came with it was cooling and sweet and was perfect. We tried all the desserts of course, and they were all different in flavor profile and composition and all stars in their own rights. The gulab jamun was light and floral, the saffron and pistachio milk was exotic and smooth, and the vermelli dish was nourishing. Overall, you can tell so much thought and care goes into each dish, and in each ingredient. It's was complementary, not overwhelming. This was a very satisfying meal, and we will be back. I love Indian food & this place is nailing it. The server was extra helpful & friendly. There were 5 of us so we all got to sample many things. Several appetizers were ordered. One was a cauliflower app, one was made with paneer which is a wonderful cheese, & my favorite was called "Dahi ke Kebab". I don't actually know what it is, lol. The server recommended it & his description seemed different than the description in the menu. All I can tell you is it was one of the tastiest things I've had in years. Eventually I ordered my main dish, which was Chicken Tikka Masala. It was amazing. I requested mild on the spices, but it was still a bit hot. I will say it was worth it though. The dish was a symphony of flavors working perfectly together. My friends ordered the Tandoori Platter with seasoned chicken, lamb, & salmon. I tried their food, & it was off the hook good. So be aware Indian food is not inexpensive, but for a top notch treat, Copper deserves more than a glance. read more

I would give this place 10 stars if I could. It was SO delicious, quick, and the workers were all friendly and helpful with the menu. I typically get chicken saag so I stuck with that and it was DELICIOUS. Great flavor, good portion size, and great pieces of chicken. I got medium spice level and I think it was a bit mild but I don't mind because it was delicious. My mom got butter chicken and it was also delicious. Best Indian food I've had!! In addition, while we are carnivorous and almost always get a chicken or lamb dish, the alternatives are numerous, delicious and will make you consider becoming a vegetarian if you're not careful! We tried out Copper last night for our anniversary dinner. It's a new Indian restaurant that recently opened in the Westchase area, in the same space that was previously occupied by another Indian cuisine concept. It was hard not to compare the two. Pros: The service during dinner was very good. Our server was Dominic, and he was attentive and offered to help make suggestions, and ensured we had what we needed. The manager also came over toward the end of our meal to check on us. Given this was our first time here, we opted to order several dishes to try between us. We ordered the garlic naan, which was excellent. We also ordered saag paneer, butter chicken, and tandoori chicken. While we waited for our entrees, they brought us out indian crackers with relish, which my husband devoured and I enjoyed sampling the different sauces. When the entrees arrived, they were beautifully presented in copper and metal pots. Everything tasted very good, and the portion sizes were generous. They gave us more than enough delicious fluffy rice to share between us and overall we really enjoyed our meal. Cons: Given we ordered several entrees for just the two of us, we had quite a bit of leftovers. The server took our food into the kitchen to wrap it up at the end of our meal. Unfortunately, my saag paneer (which I had only had two bites of) was not in our bag when I got home. I was very disappointed, along with my daughter who wanted to try everything. Also, the new owners did a bit of renovating, which probably could have been better spent elsewhere. They removed all the booths and have only tables and a bar. They also reoriented the restrooms. Previously, the women's restroom was large and had a couple stalls, a bench, and a large mirror; it felt and looked luxurious. Now there is a very long strange hallway (that has a sink in it), with a very small single stall restroom. Overall, I wish the owners much success and hope that our little Westchase community continues to support these small businesses. read more

My husband and I were out all day shopping in Pinellas County south and took Racetrack road home. We were about to pass the 7-11 and I remembered there was an Indian restaurant in this plaza a long time ago, so I asked if we could see if it was still In business. I knew Copper was not the name of the one we had gone to, but we took a chance anyway. I usually search the reviews b4 trying a new restaurant but we were starving and it was getting late and I didn't. My husband said it was the best Indian food restaurant he has ever gone to, and that says a lot, because we have both been to many throughout the years, together and apart. There was a restaurant many years ago that was very, very, good in another location but it's not around anymore. I have a good friend from India who takes her time to cook every Indian dish for me and some of our other friends from church and hers is authentic and absolutely the best! I will bring her here too because I think it'll knock her socks off. The service was impeccable, the place is clean, and the food was full of flavor! We had the chicken biryani, chicken 65, the samosas, and chicken tikka masala. We will definitely be coming here again and it only took 15 minutes to get home, Yay!
