The chicken 65 was light on the fry however the taste was different compared to other places I've tried chicken 65 from. The butter chicken was lighter in the sauce than other places- I'm accustomed to a little thicker of a sauce and a little heat (I wasn't asked about a spice level but there was no spice in the dish). However, if you are a person who does not like/can't handle spice, this works perfectly for you. The garlic naan was so good!! It was soft and wasn't too oily or overwhelming of garlic. We chose Flames Indian Cuisine for our multi-day Indian wedding based on the owner's personal assurance that because the restaurant was local, they could not run out of food. Unfortunately, the reality was a bride and groom's worst nightmare. The planning process was incredibly stressful. It took weeks to get a finalized menu or contract, and we weren't even able to settle the payment until the week before the event. Communication was consistently delayed. Despite paying for a 200-person guest count and having fewer guests than contracted, we ran out of food at nearly every event. This was witnessed by our guests, the venue staff, and our wedding planner. When we confronted the owner, he blamed our guests for "eating too much" rather than taking responsibility for under-preparing. He promised an internal investigation and a resolution within a month. It has now been three months, and despite numerous follow-ups, he has completely ignored our attempts to resolve this amicably. In Indian weddings, food is a pillar of the celebration. To have our guests waiting 10+ minutes for refills that never came was embarrassing and a clear breach of our contract. I would strongly advise any couple to look elsewhere if you want a caterer who is professional and honors their commitments. read more

The Baigan Bhartha, an eggplant dish, was mushy, bland, and somehow still managed to contain a pit -- which immediately made me question the kitchen's sanitation. I had Prosecco and Chianti and both of which were really good. My husband ordered the Taj Mahal beer, which was also good. We ordered the vegetable pakora, lamb, curry, chicken, khorna, and garlic naan. Our food was great & we'll be back again. As far as service goes, it was good too. For food we ordered the Chicken Korma, $17, the samosa $7 which comes with two and the Gulab Jamun $5 for dessert. We didn't specify a spice level for the Chicken Korma, so it came out mild. The portions were rather small for the price and the chicken was a little dry. I really wished they still offered the samosa chat, I guess it's an older menu item. I was very surprised to see the dessert only came with two balls, kinda small portion considering it was $5. Otherwise, very good The lamb biryani was yummy and the lamb was very tender. The rice was a little bit on the dry side otherwise it was very good. The butter chicken was AMAZING. I can drink that butter chicken. It was so good! I'm definitely getting this again! And that naan?!?!?!? It was HUGE and buttery and had the perfect amount of chew. Just soooooo YUM! We were some of the first in for dinner and ordered 3 appetizers, some paneer, samosa and the shrimp dish pictured. All were great and came out quickly. No ability to get more spice on the Uber Eats app. HUGE chucks of chicken. Naan was really good. What happened to this place? It used to be amazing but has been awhile since we don't live near Flame's anymore. Ordered samosa, chicken tikka masala, butter chicken and naan bread. The only thing that was good was the naan. First of all, when we picked up the food, we tipped for pickup as we usually do for small businesses. It is not 20%, as I am NOT tipping 20% if I am not sitting down and being served. When we handed back the receipt with tip, one gentleman spoke in another language but heard the number that I tipped. The other gentlemen grabbed the receipt, looked at it, and laughed. Many businesses have closed since Covid, should you not be grateful that I am a customer? Anyway. Then the food. The curries were soooo watery. And flavorless!!! In the past I have ordered medium and it is too spicy, this time there was no flavor or spice in either chicken dish. The samosas were also completely flavorless. I am not sure what has happened to this place or why there are good reviews. It was awful, from customer service to the quality of food. Eventually another table would show up over the course of our meal though. I've been to the other highly rated Indian restaurants in Tampa, and this place blows them out of the water. It's right across the street from Datz/Dough. I enjoy getting a window seat to watch people struggle to find a parking spots over there when I'm literally the only car in the lot at Flames. If you're ever in the same situation as those poor crowds of ill advised foodies and Instagram fame seeking influencers, do yourself a favor and come across the street. We ordered the samosas for an appetizer and they were very good especially dipped in the red sauce. We also ordered the tandoori platter and garlic Naan to share. The platter came with rice and was plenty of food for both of us plus taking some home. We really enjoyed all the flavor on the each item in the platter. And the garlic Naan was delicious.
