Decided to pop in for a quick weekday lunch because I was craving gyros. The door was open (didn't have to touch it) and they had big "6 ft" social distancing dots on the floor leading up to the register. Hand sanitizer available for customer use. Ordering was friendly, quick and easy. They warned that my food could take up to 15 minutes to prepare, but the wait in the end was not as long as they'd estimated. I ordered a simple gyros bowl with rice and steamed veggies. When it arrived, I was shocked at the generosity of the portion! There was plenty of gyro meat on top of white rice and steamed veggies - enough broccoli, cabbage and carrots to make mom proud. In addition, there was a side green salad with cucumbers and tomatoes, perfectly dressed with Italian dressing! AND a scoop of hummus, AND two paper wrapped packages of both white and wheat pita bread! AND... this perfectly crispy tortilla bowl, which was totally unexpected and delicious. Loved it. I've eaten at the Hummus Factory a couple dozen times in the past few years and been more and more disappointed with every visit. Last night we ordered 2 Lula Bowls and a protein combo plate. While the combo plate was very similar to previous visits, with the exception of the chicken being very dried out, the bowls were an embarrassment. The bowls featured dry white rice, a SMALL dollop of hummus, some soggy, overcooked veggies, and one small Lula kebab. I was shocked they charge $16 for this bowl and show a picture on the menu that has 2 kebabs in the bowl. From now on I'll be eating at Aristo Cafe in El Segundo where the quality is better and the prices are more reasonable. Prior to my last visit I've always considered Hummus Factory a decent 3 star restaurant. That was based on my perception of the food quality combined with the price paid. Considering that I've continued to order from you made me feel there was no reason to leave a (3*) review and contribute to lowering your 3.6 star rating. Now that I perceive that the quality is continuing to drop, while the price continues to rise, I felt justified to to give you a 2 star (Could've been better) review. Ordered from this restaurant through DoorDash this last Saturday since they offered free delivery after $30, which we hit pretty quickly. We had ordered their appetizer plate as well as their three protein plate with a drink. The three proteins we decided upon were chicken, beef and the Lula and chose the spicy hummus. It took about 40 minutes for our food to be delivered after placing our order and we were surprised with the amount of food we got. I really liked the protein plate that we got since the chicken and Lula were great and even though the beef was a bit crispy for some parts, it still tasted great. I really liked the spicy hummus with the pita bread that also came in a wheat pita version too. I liked how it came with side condiments with the garlic butter being my favorite and the yogurt one being left to the side since it tasted weird to me. As for the appetizer plate, everything tasted good, but between the two plates, I just ate from the protein packed one while my boyfriend loaded up more with the appetizer. I work in the area so this plaza is a place we often go to for lunch. There are many options for food but if I'm eating in this area, I usually go to Hummus Factory. There is a huge parking lot so parking isn't difficult to find, although it can get pretty packed during lunch time. You order your food and they give you a number so they know where you are when they bring your food out for you. If you're with a party and order consecutively, they ask if you're together and they put both your orders under the same number (you still pay separately of course). There's a large common dining area outside for all the restaurants. They have many different options like bowls, plates, and wraps as well as different types of meat like chicken, beef, and gyro. And of course, they have hummus. I usually get the chicken bowl which contains 4 pieces of chicken, rice, veggies/salad (your choice), a side of hummus, and their dipping sauce (don't know exactly what it is but it's really good!). The chicken is soft and juicy and tastes really good with the sauce. The hummus is delicious and creamy and tastes good mixed with the rice. I've also tried their plate but it's a lot of food. The plate has 8 pieces of chicken compared to the bowl's 4 pieces. The plate also has a lot more rice and a lot more hummus. I met up with two of my friends for lunch recently at The Hummus Factory. I tried their combination plate with beef, lula and chicken kabob. The entree was served with hummus, rice and salad. Whole wheat and white pitas were served on the side. I also got a Roses drink. The combination plate was a lot of food! There is a lot of protein in that dish and they give a pretty hefty serving of rice and salad as well. Out of the meat entrees I liked the lula the best. The lula is ground beef mixed with spices. It was very soft in texture. The beef too was surprisingly very tender. I had expected it to be on the tough side and was pleasantly surprised to see it was not. The other surprise was that the chicken was pretty flavorful. Often times, I am a little weary of getting chicken kabobs because they tend to be on the dry side. This was not the case here. I'd have to say all the protein dishes were pretty good and tasty. I can also say the same with the hummus. It had the right mix of creaminess with it's garbanzo beans tahini sauce, garlic and lemon juice. It was great combining the hummus with the meat and putting it inside the pitas. The roses drink was very interesting. This was a drink that the one of the workers there recommended. It really does taste like roses. It's a bit on the sweet side, but you can taste this flower like kick in it. It also looks like roses with it's deep red color. Granted, I am happy to finally have a nearby Mediterranean restaurant but I've definitely had better. It is always a shame when a restaurant takes advantage of knowing they are the only one of their kind in a small town so they make sub-par food. But to be fair, it also wasn't too bad. I know realize I just should have stuck with the rice. The tabouli was a bit too sour for me so I didn't eat much of it. The salad was drenched in way too much dressing that was way too garlic-y. The hummus was just okay so I put that on their dry pitas and enjoyed the chicken kabob with it. My husband ordered the side of Mediterranean fries, which he liked and they gave us plenty of but it wasn't anything more than regular French fries with feta cheese, onions, and tomatoe bits.
