We've been trying breakfast places in the area and found this gem. There's a parking lot. You order at the counter. They have a case with different drinks including cans of Diet Coke. They have a rack of Herr's chip options. The people are very friendly and helpful. There are two long tables with stools for patrons. They've been family owned and operating for 60 years. We tried the Eggle which is 2 eggs and cheese on a bagel and the grilled cheese sandwich. We also got a side of home fries. Everything was delicious. I saw that they have Amoroso rolls so I want to try a hoagie or cheesesteak next time.

Really decent breakfast sandwich - fast service, customisable options and fairly priced.

Food is fresh and hot, service is friendly with a smile, atmosphere is historic Americana and the price doesn't hurt your wallet

Traveling between a morning spent at the Philadelphia Zoo and an afternoon at Longwood Gardens, this was the ideal lunch stop. Arrived at 2:30 to find their grill was closed for the day. I opted for a chicken salad sandwich and it so hit the spot! I'm not here often but I always feel like family the moment I walk in the door. They just celebrated their 60 year anniversary so they must be doing something right!

We randomly found this place on our way to another event and I am glad that we did. When we walked in we were immediately greeted. Customer service 10/10. My husband got the cheesesteak with hot peppers and onions. He is not a spice guy, so the peppers were hot to him but overall the sandwich was a 8/10 . I had the Big Muff with mushrooms which was really good. The mushrooms were cooked perfectly. It feels like your are having a good meal with neighbors. If you are in the area you should definitely check them out.

Head over heels the best cheesesteak in the area. Meat was tender, well favored with the perfect amount of cheese. Over 60 years in business and it shows, my new go to spot, so good!!

Different Cheesesteak #892. I loved this place. Great little greasy spoon. They have a menu but I am pretty sure if Angela has it she will cook it for you. It was 9:30 am so I got a cheesesteak with eggs. $7.50. I Would have liked everything mixed and chopped together. But I am not complaining, I'll be going back!

It was fine but kind of mainstream for me. Their dessert menu was all very straightforward options pretty much. I think the menu has changed a lot from many years ago- my salad was fresh for a Tuesday evening especially. There were a variety of slushie flavors with nice combinations. The quantity would be a little for some, but it was enough for me since it had alcohol and that kept the prices more reasonable. I did not take pictures as I did not want to be rude on this particular occasion. Staff is very friendly and crowd was light but people were still around despite the heavy rain.

My maid of honor had booked a table for 11 people (she had her mothers retirement there with more people mind you) and we were seated on their very large outdoor space but not the patio as stated on the reservation. The restaurant is all pretty open to the course and it appeared there was more "patio" area elsewhere. The hostess brought us to the fire pit depicted in the one photo and placed menus on the fire pit and walked away. We were confused as we thought we were getting a table, after going back up to her she said we could have the table next to it as she did not know and that we had the fire pit as well, which was a plus! The disappointing part was that it was never turned on for us. It took several minutes for a waiter to come over to greet us, and triple that to get our first round of drinks. When drinks were brought there were still 3 missing but were eventually brought out. All of our drinks were in wine glasses which was strange and we did not get wine. Our prosecco had the proper glassware however. The waiter then walked away but we called him back as we wanted to get appetizers. We placed them and off the waiter went. While we sipped and toasted another waiter come over stating they had a glass of champagne for someone at the table which had a piece of fruit on the bottom. I had a bride to be sash on and we assumed someone saw it and had treated me to it. Well 10 minutes later and almost done the drink they came over and said "actually that drink was not meant for this table". Did they expect us to return it? Why even say that to a party? That was not our mishap. How oblivious that I am a bride to be as well? Just very odd. It took forever for our food and drinks even more so. There was a decent crowd but nothing extreme. We all felt like it took forever, not just me, and one of the women works at a very busy and fast paced restaurant and she even agreed. Our server was just okay and did not make the night feel special nor did any staff for that matter. For the food--The peach crostini appetizer was pretty good but everyone could tell they were canned cold peaches on the crostini. Cheesesteak egg rolls were mediocre. I ordered an appetizer for my main which was the tuna poke. That was decent and fresh but could have had more sauce/dressing. No one at the table raved about their food. Once we got our food we never saw our waiter till the end when we were all over it and ready to leave, especially since their live music went from upbeat summer vibes to depressing jazz music. After we were done taking some group pictures and paid we left. Never got a congratulations, come again, nothing. Honestly I am so disappointed which is disheartening as I was excited for the night and the decor/atmosphere, which all that it has going for this place. We ended up going out to another local spot for better music, service, and dancing.

A large pepperoni pizza. And 1 large cheese steak/whiz wit fried onions . We dig into the pizza first...I'd say its good. Not super great but good. Id say 4 out of 5. Only because it was a little flimsy when eating. It was real good flavor but almost fork and knife pizza. But to me that's okay. The flavor was on point. I would consider reordering. The egg rolls were real good. I actually sucked these down with my wife on the way home. It was like 3 egg rolls but maybe not as big as Chinese food eggrolls. But i would recommend. Maybe slightly on the pricey side but damn good. So I was on the fence about things until this cheese steak. The meat seems better than most in the area. I would say that it was a hair light on the whiz cheese and a few too many onions away from being perfect. The roll was slightly soggy by the time I got to it. But that was my fault. This steak is why I posted this review. I might order again tomorrow. Highly recommended.

If definitely fed into our decision but we were looking for something nearby as my godmother wanted to take us to dinner for our anniversary after seeing our daughters in Newsies nearby. As always, I booked our table under my moniker, Sir Cornelius Silkbottom, to which the person taking reservations seemed a bit apprehensive, as I am very used to at this point. However, our reservation was perfect, and when we showed up at the nice little restaurant attached to the Inn at Swarthmore, we were seated right away, and next to the large windows that open up to the seated patio with a beautiful view of the golden hour of the day. One thing that was a little strange was that they charged for bread. Throughout our meal we kept having questions about what the true intention of what the Broad Table was going for in their presentation and their service. Our server and the staff was very nice, but we couldn't put our finger on whether the place is supposed to be very high-end, and upscale farmhouse style new American joint, farm-to-table, or what the heck was going on here. All I do know is that we enjoyed the heck out of what we ordered. Where they seemed to shine the most was in the very little nuanced things; a sweet lavender butter provided with the bread was a show stopper. The beet sauce along with my halibut was also outstanding. Everyone's meal was great, but we simply couldn't pin a label on this place, which may be the very purpose to begin with. Maybe Broad Table doesn't need a label or to be boxed in, and it really doesn't matter because it's delicious and the selection is varied enough for everyone!
