The Hungry Bear is open from Memorial Day to Labor Day and serves juicy hamburgers (the three napkin kind), tasty tacos, and a filling taco salad among other New Mexico food offerings. Seating is outdoors and be sure to add time to your itinerary because it's a one woman operation: she takes your order, makes the food, and delivers it to you at the picnic table under the trees. People in a hurry should either call ahead or pass by for something not as good, but faster. Great food, great service & freshly squeezed orange juice. The portions are enough to take a to go box & eat another full meal.

This is a convenient place to eat if you are in the neighborhood. The burgers and tacos are good. It's all outdoor dining. The biggest problem is inconsistent hours of operation. She's only open in the summertime and I'm guessing the owner has other obligations even then. Some days she just can't get around to opening up at all. Too bad. read more
