I am getting married soon and the dessert tray is one of the bakeries near my wedding venue so we tried some samples. The business is easy to find on the GPS, but only has 3 or 4 parking spots so you might need to park a little farther away and walk a short distance. The employees were very nice and helpful when I made my cake selections a few days prior to pickup. We tried the lemon poppyseex cake with raspberry buttercream (one of their best sellers), the chocolate ganache, chocolate cake with lemon butter cream, and strawberry cake with marionberry buttercream. The lemonpoppy seed with raspberry was moist, refreshing, and delicious although it could have used a bit more poppyseed and lemon flavor. A couple weeks ago I decided to order a cake for my friend's birthday last minute. I called several bakeries and no one could accommodate 24 hours notice, which is understandable, but I was so relieved to find out the baker at The Dessert Tray was able to make it happen. The cake came out absolutely beautiful and right on time. The decorations came out exactly as I described with pitch black frosting and red detail. She even provided detailed instructions for how to make sure the cake was ready to eat in time, as it had been chilled. My friend absolutely loved it. I wish I snagged a picture, but it was so delicious we ate it immediately. Highly recommend ordering a chocolate cake with coffee buttercream filling. It also looked like this cute bakery had quite a few delicious looking pastries in the case, so I will definitely be coming back to try some of those. We special ordered a key lime pie from here for a birthday celebration. I read the reviews and felt confident. When we showed up for pick up I got nervous. The whole entryway/old dine in area was a mess! They use it as storage (things piled up everywhere), but it was also unclean. It definitely turned us off. But the pie looked nice, so that was a relief... until we went to eat it. We ended up throwing it away. The crust was uneven and hard-- way too thick in areas so you couldn't cut it or bite it. We got married on June 15, 2019 Set a remote spot called at the River Garden winery. The dessert tray was a vendor that they suggested! When we got there and set up the meeting their sales lady was absolutely charming. And they had set up many flavors for us to try.
