We first discovered this bakery through Zupan's after picking up one of their puff pastry "Pop-Tarts." It was so good--especially warmed up in the air fryer--that we had to track down the bakery itself. Turns out it's just around the corner from Zupan's (and I later learned they have multiple locations). We were so glad we made the trip! The donuts are incredible. They're not your average donuts--light, flavorful, and just different in the best way. We tried the seasonal Strawberry Shortcake donut and a maple donut, and both were delicious. We also picked up a Strawberry Shortcake cupcake and four different flavors of their puff pastry Pop-Tarts. Let's just say...they didn't last long. We devoured every single one. The prices are reasonable, the staff was friendly, and the shop has a fun, cute atmosphere. This place definitely lived up to the hype, and we'll absolutely be back for more. read more

It's in the name...Sweet! I was in the area and I knew I had to stop and try one of their croissant donuts - or what is also known as a cronut by the uninitiated. The person behind the counter said her favorite was the maple, so maple it was, accompanied by an iced Americano, extra cream. I'm not a donut person, but I am a croissant lover. I'd say that if you love a light, many layered donut croissant, you won't be disappointed. The location is just off the main drag, plenty of street parking. The sweet treat was $4.50, my total, with the beverage and a 20% tip was just over $10. Next time I plan to try a savory breakfast item. I saw a few others enjoying them, they looked yummy and are surprisingly well priced in today's world. Wow, these are some amazing donuts! They're cronuts, if you want to be specific - donuts made with croissant dough. Tall with lots of layers, dusted in sugar. Then choose the flavored topping! They have all kinds but my favorite is the lemon, by far. Just the right amount of tart and not overly sweet, this is a perfect donut! I tried a chocolate one on an earlier visit and it's also delicious, with a rich dark chocolate frosting. They've got homemade toaster pastries that look great, but I can't help myself with the lemon donut! They have gluten free donuts as well, but I haven't tried one yet. We went here because I'd been following this local guy who rated all the donut shops in the area. Too Sweet Cakes was in his top five list. It's nearby so we stopped in. This is a dangerous place to try. The cronuts are delicious. We've returned a second time just to gift some to friends. We've tried the basic one with a lovely dark chocolate icing, the Boston cream one, and the key lime pie. We've loved them all and this may become a regular stop when we go through Lake Oswego. Ordered delivery for a timed event. Apparently they use third party services like DoorDash for deliveries, so I had about 30 people show up for an event that the food hadn't arrived for. Makes us look bad and is very disappointing. I also wanted to add that we had to reach out to TSC to find out where our order was. No email or phone call or anything to indicate that our order was even on the way. 20 minutes late as of this update. Finally arrived 30 minutes later than scheduled. If you order a week in advance and schedule a time for delivery, pick half an hour earlier than you need it. Or just order elsewhere and save yourself the frustration. Ever since NOLA Doughnuts closed, we've really missed the croissant-doughnuts, so thought we'd try Too Sweet. We placed an online order for 12 items and got 11. (Not sure if they were out of cinnamon rolls or ours was just forgotten, but I logged a claim through Uber Eats and was reimbursed for the missing roll.) We ordered mostly doughnuts, along with some croissants and a sandwich cookie. The chocolate, maple, and churro doughnuts were our favorites. I wanted to love the coconut cream but it was a bit too sweet for me. The croissants were amazing - we got an almond croissant and the cookie dough croissant. An amazing combo!!! This place is a hidden gem! It is worth the journey. The "donuts" are made with croissant dough. I recommend eating the while they are fresh. Do that and they are amazing!! I used to get them and eat them the next day. Then I ate one there. Astoundingly good! Slightly crispy, fluffy and perfect!! They have other items too, like cookies and filled pastries. Last fall I ordered a birthday cake. Specified what I wanted the filling flavor to be and the icing color to be. When I picked it up it was presented beautifully it was a beautiful cake for $50. However sadly disappointed that the filling flavor was not what I specified . The buttercream frosting tasted like buttercream but it had a weird texture, it wasn't soft it was stiff for lack of a better word. The cake itself was very very dry . Almost unedible . In fact we threw half of the cake away . They gave me a 25$ credit to use in the store. Recently I went in and selected a few things. The brioche donut sounded Heavenly so I got that. It also was very very dry almost unedible and I threw a portion of it away. It's not the brioche that I've had in other places which is soft and pillowy. The red velvet cookie sandwich did not taste like red velvet. It tasted like doughy sugar . The picture on the website is not what you get in reality. The strawberry croissant donut was better that was actually pretty darn good. This is not a place I'm going to revisit. read more

We have ordered large quantities for kids' birthday parties several times and then bought some on occasion just for special occasion treats at home. We have also enjoyed their French macarons. It's my sister's birthday and we sent an image prior for the cake she wanted. After confirming that they could indeed make the cake in the image, we picked it up. Only to discover that they hadn't matched the image at all. Completely wrong. Didn't even try to match the image. (Also the cake is totally crooked but I digress). I came here a few weeks ago during their grand opening. I LOVE bakeries so I was super excited that a new one was opening up. It was fairly busy when we got there, which is great for a grand opening, and a majority of customers seemed like family friends, which is also sweet to see. The staff was friendly and bustling. It's very much family owned and operated, which is very nice. They were fully stocked and ready for a crowd for sure. All of their pastries look very pleadings. The whole aesthetic of the store is very pretty too. (It kind of looks like they designed the whole theme based on those beautiful floral wedding invitations.) My biggest issue with the bakery is that there aren't prices listed anywhere: not on the name tags and not up on a board (except if you're ordering a drink of sandwiches). None of the pastries have prices listed, which is an important thing to know. Especially when they aren't cheap - which they aren't. (I asked, the cake slices were $7 plus change!) For the looks (and the prices), I had very high expectations. Unfortunately the items we tried didn't live up to them. The maple cronut my friend got was quite dense and somewhat dry. I got a raspberry tart which was nice but not what I expected. It's filled with a tart raspberry filling, I thought it would be more like a pastry cream. The crust was good though it was made in two piece - one circular bottom and a round cylinder - which is a bit of a cheat. They were also giving away free macarons and toffee bits to try since it was opening day. Both of those were quite nice. Overall it's a nice place with pretty albeit pricey desserts. If I'm in the area, I'd like to go back and try a few more items to get a better sense of the place. read more
