It's honestly insane that Spark is shutting down when it was doing so well less than a year ago…read more But if you were paying attention, the writing was on the wall the second Annabel left back in February. She was that place her leadership, her energy, her actual care for people. And once she was gone? It completely lost its heart. The vibes tanked, the direction felt aimless, and it became pretty clear something was seriously off behind the scenes. Don't sit here and act like this is just "the next chapter." Be real. You had something incredible, and somehow managed to run it into the ground. People showed up for the mission, for the team, and for the community. But instead of transparency or accountability, we get a carefully packaged farewell post like everything's fine? It's not fine. This didn't have to happen. But whatever happened internally clearly mattered more than the community Spark claimed to care about. Disappointed, but not surprised.

They've even been recommended and runner up by Best Of Lexington for best breakfast in town 2023 & 2025 (it's noted by emblems on the entry door). I love that if you have a problem with your food the management will make it right. You just have to let them know. No one's perfect but they really try to make it right. I love the ambiance inside and the outdoor seating in spring and summer. Good place to bring the family. I'm thrilled there are still local places like this one in Lexington that really work hard to give its' best and work hard to keep their doors open in this economy now days. It's not easy as we all know. We need to support our local businesses and cheer them on like this little gem. Thanks, Tack House for hanging in there through thick and thin and still giving us delicious food and great service for so many years!

Nice weather is perfect for the patio area, especially because you still get shade from the trees when it's hot. Lots of food and drink options, and they have some fun specials at times, it really just depends. Bourbon roll was delicious, blueberry muffins were nice. Their sausage gravy is pretty good, but it seemed to be missing something flavor wise. I ended up trying the Pharoah, which was deliciously baked potatoes and eggs, rye toast, and guzzling my coffee. Food was pretty good!

I usually skip breakfast or have a protein shake, but a good American breakfast sounded good on the frigid cold morning. There is nothing more America than a Waffle House breakfast. When I arrived, I chose a booth by the window. It was just me and one other customer in the diner. I was offered a quick cup of coffee to start my waking up process. Love Waffle House coffee. After I enjoyed a few sips of coffee I ordered up an All Star breakfast which includes scrambled eggs, sausage, waffle and some grits. Way plenty to break your fast. My order was up fast. Everything tasted delicious. They have breakfast diner food down to a fine science. Simple but good. Nothing fancy, just good tasting food. The service was friendly and down-home feeling. I could tell she was tired from working overtime during this snow storm, but that didn't stop her from being friendly and attentive to the task at hand. I don't know about you, but I appreciate that kind of work ethic. Overall my experience was positive today. Nothing to complain about. I'd come back to this location.

However, the first one I can't quite remember. I'm going to give this five stars for a reason! Not because it was the best meal I've ever had, but for numerous reasons which I have listed. I stopped at the one in Frankfort, Ky. I just ordered a Classic Waffle and Hashbrowns. Nothing fancy! Honestly it tasted great! This was one of the best waffles I've had and the hashbrowns were crispy. Just as they should be. It's sad how many places serve sad looking hashbrowns that are barely cooked and soggy for twice the price. This was not the case. But what set Waffle House apart was the service. Honestly, I felt like I was part of the family there. The waitresses, cook, cashier, etc. Everyone said hi to me and asked me how I was doing. They checked in with me to make sure everything tasted good. I'm a fan of diners! The good ones, the waitress will do that, but that's about it. Here, everyone did. I give them a lot of credit for that. They were also busy. When you've been traveling alone, it's nice when you get that level of service. Plus, for the price, you get some good food! It also had that great diner feel. If you haven't been to a Waffle House and you're in Kentucky, head to Frankfort! If you're not, head to a Waffle House anyways. More diners should see what they're doing.
