As good as popsicles get! I've stopped in a couple of times over the past several years and always ogle at their myriad flavors ranging from chili mango to Mexican hot chocolate. There's anywhere from 20-40 unique flavors at any given time most of which you've probably never tried in popsicle form before: basil starfruit, horchata, espresso, dragonfruit, and countless others. Each popsicle runs around $3.25-$4. However, it's a flavor experience you are unlikely to find anywhere else. Highly recommended! read more

Yummy, with dipped chocolate! I wish I could eat more at one time!!! My friend took me there since she's from the area. It's not badly priced. It's light, tasty, refreshing and you can tell it's fresh! I got the strawberry fruit one dipped in the chocolate. I don't think I would have liked it as much without the chocolate. I spoke with one of the sweetest employees there this evening, Above and beyond! She was so cheerful and had the best energy! She was was helpful and very bubbly! Erica was her name and she helped me to pick the perfect popsicle! When friends learned that my husband and I were planning our first ever visit to St Augustine, they stressed the importance of visiting Hyppo for a popsicle. They have a few different locations, but ended up at the St George street spot while en route to our Ghost Tour. This particular spot is an instagrammer's dream, with each room being covered in colorful murals; the perfect setting for a popsicle photo shoot. The flavor selection was a bit jarring, but after much internal debate I ended up with the Pumpkin Cheesecake dipped in chocolate while my husband ordered the Peanut Butter Pie. We were both very pleased with our selection. Initially we had discussed picking up our popsicles after our tour, but I'm glad that we got them on our way. Though the hours were posted with a closing time of 10pm, the lights were off and doors were shut as we were leaving St George St at 9:40 pm. read more

I would recommend this place in a heartbeat! Cute location, delicious, creative and original popsicles! I got the "Elvis" (peanut butter, honey and banana) dipped in chocolate for an extra $1 that is vegan friendly! (It's a Coconut oil based chocolate dip). I believe most popsicles are $3.75 plus tax. A great little place for a quick dessert or snack. My husband and I were going to share but everything looked so good! Nice selection of fresh drinks (see photo in review). Also, we didn't order anything that was sugar free but there was a lady there on a keto diet and wanted to know if anything was sugar free. The worker said they sometimes do have sugar free flavors but they did not have any in stock on that specific day. My hubby got the Pear Riesling and it was yummy too! You could taste chunks of pear in his. Great location right off of St. George's Street in the main drag of St. Augustine's tourist locations! We found it on accident. I'd never heard of this place, but there are a bunch of them all over Old Town St Augustine lol. Had the spicy strawberry popsicle. It was good. In the middle of summer, with everyone walking Old Town, it makes sense that they have so many of these stores. They have really interesting flavors. read more

Just like the Hyppo in Ybor city! This is a large location that has enough space to sit, they offer some unique flavours of pops based on some spectacular ingredients. At $3.50 per pop and $1 up charge to dip into chocolate these are a great alternative to the ever popular ice cream shops that dot the St. George Strip. Try the Pina Colada, it's not heavy like you might expect. My husband enjoyed the Pineapple and cilantro so much he got another one on our last day there. read more

Amazing gelato store in downtown St. Augustine. Inside looks decorative and clean. Server were friendly and helpful. They have tons of flavors, some of them you don't even think they can make a gelato of that flavor. Ordered a pistachio flavor and coffee flavored gelatos. They were amazing and tasty. They also have a seating area so you can enjoy your deliciousness. Also, don't forget to ask for the card stamp. After certain amount of gelato bought you get a free one. read more

After walking around in the crazy heat, having a nice cold refreshing popsicle is a good idea. This spot has nice juice drinks that don't make you thirsty like ice cream does. They have a variety of vegan and cream choices, as well as some cold drinks. No restroom, not a lot of indoor seating besides benches along the wall. Staff did not know a lot of information about the popsicles. And sadly couldn't give support for local food recommendations. $3-5 for a popsicle. read more

So I come into town with my girlfriend and her family for a little day trip. We walk down St. George St., because that's the street to wander down. We go to this popsicle place to try it out. Inside is very shack-like and beachy, just like most of the businesses on that street. It was very quaint and touristy and I liked it. They have a ton of flavors. Over two dozen. They clearly denote which flavors contain dairy and which flavors are spicy. Very nice of them. We split two flavors. I had peanut butter pie and my girlfriend had pistachio coconut. Both tasted exactly as described, and their outlined manufacturing process meant that there is nothing in these pops but the real deal. No artificial flavoring. This is a very boutique mind of shop, so you will pay boutique prices, but golly it was worth it while we were wandering around in that Florida heat. Will return. read more

Hyppo makes delicious popsicles in unique flavors from all natural ingredients (no synthetic flavors). The service was incredibly friendly and both times we went the people at the counter were more than willing to help us through their menu of exotic treats. It's well worth a stop when in the Colonial Quarter of Saint Augustine. On our two trips, we tried four flavors. Of course, we had our favorites, but all were good. Here's the breakdown: Peppermint Chocolate: my wife and I both agreed this was the best of the flavors we tried. The chocolate was smooth and creamy and the peppermint notes complimented it perfectly. They use genuine peppermint oil, and you taste the difference! I will note that the ice pops are a little pricey for the size, but we feel the quality was worth it. Peanut Butter Pie: This was runner-up. Again, it was a creamy peanut butter confection similar to a Peanut Butter Cup, but better since it was less overly sweet. Awesome. Datil Pepper Cheescake: Tasty and unique. The person behind the counter told us the base tastes very much like their Horchata flavor (which is a Mexican rice drink spiced with cinnamon). In this case, the main spice is Datil Pepper -- which had a bit of a sweet and fruity but spicy flavor. We had never heard of this particular item before, so I looked it up: Datil peppers are grown throughout the U.S., but the vast majority actually come from right there in St. Augustine!** (see footnote). Mexican Hot Chocolate: This is a faithful rendition of a treat that we've had a few time on the west coast in hot chocolate drink form: melted chocolate and milk with a dash of pepper (habanero etc.) to give it some kick. Very good. For those of you not as into 'creamy' pops, they also do have sorbet style pops without milk, often using local fruits. The shop itself is both super charming and modern. It's very small but has seating in the back. Except for the signboard visible from the pedestrian mall street in the Colonial Quarter, it's a bit hidden, as it's main entrance is in a side alley that leads to a courtyard. If you visit, be sure to pick-up one of their punchcards for them to stamp so you can eventually get a free ice pop! Hyppo is opening locations in Tampa and has a few outside St. Augustine and this is good at all of them. It also doesn't expire. In conclusion, Hyppo is a bit hard to find, but worth the effort. Highly recommended. Footnote: ** This pepper was thought to have come with the Minorcan population (who were residents of the group of islands whose two more famous members are the resort isles of Ibiza and Majorca). The history of the Minorcans in the 18th century is very interesting and if you go to St. Augustine it's well worth looking up. I won't burden the review here with it. Another theory is that it came from Cuba. But this can also be traced back to St. Augustine, because much of Cuba was populated by the first-wave Spaniards who first settled in this area in the 16th and 17th centuries before emigrating to the island nation. read more

This place was awesome. The place was filled with people waiting to get their delightful treat/Popsicle. I got a kiwi/ginger flavored one. It was hot in St. Augustine on this day. The flavor was good, I really liked it and would get it again. It also helped cool me down some. I enjoyed my treat as I continued to stroll down St. George Street. I love hyppo. I go to the one in st Pete all the time!!! Their pops are pricey but they're delicious. I had the Fourth of July pop with fresh blueberries and strawberries. It was creamy with coconut milk. My lady had the Elvis which was peanut butter honey and extra creamy. Our dog loved it!!! read more

Great idea, a place with gourmet fruit popsicles in hot St. Augustine. I had the chipotle peach popsicle. It had freezer burn, boo. It was okay, but not great. I think the chipotle was too smoky a flavor for the peach. I think a pepper with a cleaner spiciness would be better. The chipotle made the peach taste dirty. My husband had a plain strawberry popsicle and had them dip it in chocolate. He said it was great, even though he usually doesn't like popsicles. I feel like $3.50 a popsicle might be a little high given my freezer burned popsicle, but maybe if I had a fresher popsicle in a better flavor, I'd be more satisfied. read more

Locally sourced, hand made, all natural popsicles in a gigantic variety of flavors. It was so hard to choose just one. Probably why we visited three more times while we were in town! My husband's favorite is the strawberry basil which is also phenomenal. Every flavor we've tried has been great! This is the kind of place we will keep coming back to. It's a nice lighter alternative to heavy ice cream. Because these pops are kept in a freezer make sure that ice isn't built up on the side which can indicate freezer burn.
