So many options....funky combos w/herbs, dairy free, creamy dairy, light & fruity...something 4 every palate. All r made w/simple ingredients (gluten free, soy free, some dairy free) & bursting w/flavor. We've had the blueberry lime (yum), key lime(super yum!!), pink grapefruit (we liked but beware-really powerful!) & seasonal mix of strawberry/lemon/blueberry (SO good, particularly if u love a strong lemon flavor). On this day it was awfully scorching! So, what a perfect respite. When in St. Augustine, we have 6 MUST-do's, and Hyppo is one of our stops. We come here for the unique curated pop flavors, and on this day we could not have been happier. (Although, I did crave coconut and they did not have). Whua, whua... On to focus on loving these pops - I opted for the Blueberry lavender lemonade, and within our group - we tried chocolate sea salt, strawberry, horchata, etc. Important to note, all represent their flavors richly and faithfully; and while there is no tasting - you can ask any of the "pop experts" (staff) and they give you an honest and thorough description, so you can narrow down your choice. Good luck - I wanted at least 4 different ones. (ha, ha!). TIP: There are 2 stores within walking distance of the historic area, so if you are dead set on a flavor, ask and they will tell you if it is at the other store. :) At both stores, there are nice small sitting areas within the A/C'd space. read more

I'm always big on trying things that are special to the area, so I chose one of the datil infused pops. I want to say maybe Datil Strawberry? I liked the balance of the spice and the sweet. I honestly forget what my girlfriend got (something with grapefruit) but I liked hers even better than mine--a common occurrence. My 11-year-old grandson said that when we were here we should try the Popsicles that this place is famous for so we didn't wanna tell him that we didn't do it so we stopped into hypo hippo, and we had chocolate, peppermint or chocolate, mint popsicle. It was very good very tasty like an old-fashioned Fudgsicle with Minton, the man who ran the place name was Luke and he was very nice since it was pouring outside. Hyppo oh how I love you!!! I was in St Augustine only a few days and quickly became a regular. This quaint little shop offers fresh homemade popsicles of every flavor imaginable. Some have dairy and some do not. They are all delicious and very memorable. The room is adorable and cozy. The vintage feel of Old Town is out front and immediate. Creaking hardwood floors add to the charm. The service each time was impeccable. They were always smiling and offered great suggestions when you aren't sure what you want. They remembered us when we came in and made us feel very welcome. There are two locations within a couple of blocks from each other. That's handy for someone like me who loves what they offer. I cannot wait to return but in the meantime, you can place an order and have it delivered to you wherever you are. Yay! read more

This artisanal popsicle spot boasts on serving gourmet flavors with a twist. Unique flavors all across the coolers make it incredibly difficult to chose which flavor you want (which is why I took home some pops) Matchu Peachu was an incredibly delicious mix of Matcha Tea with the soothing taste of Peach Mexican Hot Chocolate was Dark Chocolate with Cayenne Pepper and cinnamon The kid ate a Mocha Cheesecake (dipped in chocolate) Overall, I think I could easily have eaten about 15-20 of them in one sitting just because of how eccentric and enticing the flavors were. This location has the most variety of indoor and outdoor seating in the immediate old town area. It's a great place to cool off and enjoy a sweet treat. The staff are always friendly and armed with great recommendations. On Father's Day, they offered "free pops for pops". My dad loved this! My most recent blackberry cheesecake pop (dairy) was creamy with lots of whole blackberries. Since the berries are in season now, this was a solid pick. This place is good if you're looking for a fruity popsicle, however if you are looking for anything dairy based (chocolate, vanilla, coffee, etc.) I would probably go somewhere else. They have the option to get your popsicle dipped in chocolate for an extra $1. I got the espresso bar and had it dipped - it was ok, nothing great and if i returned I would probably get something fruity instead. My boyfriend got the strawberry lemonade one and it was really good! Cute place! This is the 2nd Hyppo location that we've been to here in St. Augustine. We got the coconut, watermelon, and something that ends with clove (forgot the fruit name. It was red and had big seeds). My kids were not a fan of the coconut nor the clove but the watermelon was a hit. Too bad they didn't have the pops with alcohol on it (for mommy, of course!). Knocked a star off for the lone worker there who doesn't seem happy serving customers (maybe having a bad day). read more

First, I'd like to say that you're not seeing things and this is not a duplicate listing. This Hyppo is located at 70 Saint George Street. Yes, there are TWO Hyppo locations now in historic St. Augustine just mere blocks from one another. This location opened just about a month ago. I put in a request for Yelp to update this listing with the correct address. Now, with that being said, this Hyppo gets the same rating from me as the one just a few blocks ago. Not because there isn't excellent customer service, there is. The employees here are wonderful. Not because it isn't clean because it is... exceptionally so. It's also decorated in a really cute way. It's also wheelchair accessible and the other location is not. I give it two stars because to me it's just over-priced ice on a stick. $3.50 for one of these things! That's just all kinds of crazy insane. I didn't even much like popsicles when I was a kid, so I'm certainly not going to pay that much for one now. For all you people who are willing to pay those kind of crazy prices for ice on a stick, they offer really, really weird flavours here. Weird flavours like pineapple cilantro and strawberry basil. Let me do the math for you, for a family of four to each have ONE popsicle, that's a total of $14. Yea... I'm not having that. I do know, without a shadow of a doubt, that I'll keep getting dragged in here because I have a friend who just can't get enough of these things. If we are in St. Augustine, then she's getting a Hyppo Pop. Before we even get out of the car after we park, the first words out of her mouth are, "Hyppo Pop."
