We "popped" in to The Hyppo after doing a little bit of shopping at the Village. The shop is cute and cozy with ample seating indoor. The Village also has plenty of seating outdoors if you prefer to enjoy your popsicle outside. The Hyppo offers a wide variety of flavors from classic like vanilla and chocolate to more adventurous like pineapple cilantro and strawberry datil. They also offer a ton of dairy-free options. The Hyppo is located within the Hyde Park Village shopping area and it's pretty small so if you're not paying attention you might miss it. They've got a cute entrance to catch your eye with a neon sign and a chalkboard hippo! The coolest thing about this place though is they have popsicles for the 21+ crowd that have alcohol in them! So if you're planning to spend a good bit of time in the area you should try it out! For our popsicles we ordered the strawberry cheesecake and strawberry lemonade flavors. Mine tasted exactly like fresh squeezed lemonade with natural strawberry flavoring (5/5), while my husband said his tasted not exactly like strawberry cheesecake but was still very tasty (4/5)! This is the cutest popsicle shop that I have ever seen! Everything is fresh, made in Saint Augustine and sent over to them. The girls were fabulous at explaining the favors in the back and giving us suggestions! I wish that we were not so far from home because I would've loved to have taken one of each! They range from about 350 to maybe five dollars, and they are worth every single penny. They have amazing flavors and some even include dairy. I like the Hyppo. I've been in St. Augustine, and I love the variety of flavors available. This location is in Hyde Park Village, which is nice if you happen to be there for dinner, you can walk over for dessert. My kids couldn't pass by the Hyppo without going in. My son wanted the watermelon popsicle, and my daughter wanted the blueberry pineapple. I tried some of her paleta, and it tasted exactly like blueberry and pineapple. My son described his watermelon popsicle as tasting like eating a watermelon, so he was a huge fan. Prices are pretty high, especially if you're used to going to Mexican paletas shops and getting similar products for $2-3. Parking in Hyde Park Village can be a nightmare, although there are free parking structures nearby. I wouldn't make the Hyppo the sole reason for heading to Hyde Park Village, but if I were in the neighborhood and in the mood for a fruity treat, it'd be a good option. read more

I dont think Ive had a popsicle in more than 10 years. Yet, I actually bought 3 in one sitting here. Mexican Hot Chocolate - 5/5 . This was the "Salma Hayek" of flavors. Chocolate, cinnamon,and spice were all potent elements. My favorite Mango Habanero- 4/5. Not as spicy as the above but very good.The creaminess and sweetness is accentuated by the heat. Pumpkin Pie - 3/5 Just ok. It IMO it tasted like a sugar free dessert with aspartame. Pumpkin flavor is there but I didnt love it as much as the others. They have a stamp card which gets you one after 8 pops IIRc. The shop was clean and the employee was very nice and patent wen answering my plethora of questions.
