Situated just down the street from where we were staying, in a small strip mall lies The Ice Cream Place. Beautiful decorated with various colors, an ice cream theme throughout. There is indoor and outdoor seating available. The ice cream was pretty good. I loved the options of flavors. They had many unique flavors as well, some more on the surrounding area level. The portions were perfect as well. The staff was helpful. They were able to describe what flavors had what in them. Which was helpful since we were not from the area or have been to The Ice Cream Place. Bathroom was clean. No issues there! This is the best ice cream spot. When my five year old requested a Smurf milks Connor came through. When my husband accidentally left one of our bags at their shop Connor came through again. He had his cousin hand deliver our bag back to us at the Point Judith ferry. Will be going back when we visit Block Island again. read more

Delicious ice cream that is flat out rich in flavor and price, but you cannot put a price on ice cream happiness. Cute girls working their patooties off, unlimited samplings, just a fun laid back atmosphere that screams summer. It is a bit of a pricey spot for ice cream, but I can hardly complain because it is delicious and homemade. Homemade ice cream, yum! I had 2 scoops in a cup; one was Cotton Candy and the other was Peppermint. They were both delicious and really creamy. Our friend also had two scoops; Ginger and Pistachio. Conveniently located on water street towards Rebecca, it always seems crowded during the summer months and along with Aldo's one of the most popular places for ice Cream on Block Island. If you put this place in the middle of some mall away form the ocean nobody would ever remember it. The only reason that I give this place 2 stars, as opposed to 1, is the fact that ice cream can be procured for reasonable prices (given the island); they also make their waffle cones, apparently. That being said: the service was terrible. The people who work here, at least during the summer, were incredibly rude. I'm pretty sure that the ice cream is not homemade... The ice cream is fine, pretty run-of-the mill, but I had a bad experience here for a different reason. The price for a small(one scoop) is $3.89. My group decided to get waffle cones with the smalls, we had seen someone with one and it looked pretty cool. However, we were quite surprised when the total price turned out to be a lot more than we were expecting, even for Block Island. We were not aware that waffle cones are $2.15 extra. The price wasn't ideal, but the kicker was that we had looked at all of the (numerous) signs in the store, and nowhere does it state the price of the waffle cone. If it did say it somewhere, and we didn't notice, it should be more prominently displayed. I couldn't help but compare it to Brickley's. There, waffle cones are made right in front of you, and do not leak. Prices are clearly stated, and very reasonable.
