It's been several years since I've been to Block Island, but I wanted to make a point of it to go to Three Sisters for lunch which I always enjoyed in the past. It is just a shame what they have done to the place. Instead of creative meals, they serve primarily sandwiches. My selection was an uninspired tuna sandwich which I had as a wrap. Once you realize that you've made a mistake, you can't go back. I should have gone elsewhere. It just was not very good. All of their selections were for $15. The person who took our order seemed disinterested in taking our order, but it may have just been shyness. With so many good places to eat on Block Island, this is now a place I won't return to. read more

This place is a quaint sandwich shop. The menu is fairly large since subs are easy to make. There is outdoor seating, and a bike rack. It tends to get very crowded from tourists (like me) and will quickly run out of seating. The menu did not have prices on it, despite all the subs costing the same. Our group ordered our food and payed afterwards. Not the way to go, it forces you to have to wait in a long line. We ate outside on a Sat evening while enjoying live music from Lucas Neil, a local musician. The food, ambiance and entertainment were terrific. The serving staff was friendly and helpful. No liquor license but you can BYOB- they helpfully provided a wine opener and glasses. We had the open face kale / beets / some kind of creamy spread sandwich (so yummy!) and another with crab. Cash only. There is NO indication of this until you go to pay and suddenly they won't let you have your food. Rude. No sympathy for a diabetic potential customer visiting the island. I am on a set schedule and wasting my time could lead to a hypoglycemic emergency. Signs need to be placed in clearly visible areas before a potential customer even picks up a menu. They seemed willing to make an exception to let me pay later (I have no idea what that was about....) until they found out I was touring and would only be around for a short time. Sadly they were one of few establishments open due to off season. I cannot and will never be able to review the quality of the food because I will never step foot in here again. If I were to base my experience on Block Island off this place I'd never come back. But you can guarantee if my family comes back at any point in time, we'd rather go hungry than give our money to rude people, cash or not. The owner threw change into my moms face. How pathetic is your life that you make mediocre sandwiches like your life depends on it, and you can't even do that right? The food was ok, but bland. When I started commuting to Philadelphia, before I was informed about 4th Street Deli, I was in desperate need of a corned beef sandwich. A nice10-15 minute walk from the beach, we arrived at Three Sisters. It's a small cottage with picnic tables in the back. With so many options on the menu I decided to go out on a limb and order the McSister. It is a lean corned beef sandwich with Swiss cheese, Russian dressing and coleslaw on a sub roll. Swiss cheese is one of my lease favorites, and like I said earlier, I am very particular with my corned beef sandwiches. I am not sure what they are doing in the city of brotherly love, but they need to have a chat with the ladies of Three Sisters. There was nothing over the top about it, but that was pretty good sandwich. My wife's sandwich, the Twisted Sister, was pretty and the other members ordered the Big Sister, which looked pretty appetizing as well. All sandwiches are served with a bag of potato chips. One of my favorite places for a tasty beach lunch on-the-go! I put my order in and then grab my other beach essentials so the timing is always perfect. Most of all... I like the sassy owner - she adds some fun character to the day. Can you imagine what it must be like running a small business (and I mean physically small too... there's not a lot of room in that cottage) with a bunch of entitled tourists hooting and hollering at you? I've seen people wander in (from walking in the MIDDLE of the street mind you) and stand inside while they stare, mouth agape, at the simple (but delicious!) menu. Stumbled upon Three Sisters while meandering about on the island. They had an interesting set up. The kitchen was outside in a partitioned off area and a cloth cover. There's a little house that keeps the raw foods/prep. On the other side of the lawn are a few picnic tables. My personal favorite is their tuna sandwich, the "Sailor Sister", with added avocado...fresh tuna salad; fresh, soft bread; fresh lettuce and tomatoes! What more could you ask for a hot summer day?? The "Brigid's Beachin" is another great choice...the only place I can get a great Italian sub outside of New Jersey!!!! It's the real deal! To top it all off, it is situated in an adorable spot! A sweet little cottage down Old Town Rd. with beautiful flowers lining the property. Quintessentially Block Island! This is sure to be a must-stop on my future trips to Block Island. read more

Sandwiches are always yummy and made to order with fresh ingredients. Also their fresh baked chocolate chip cookies are just to die for. However, we have had bad service here . The employees can seem rude and do not easily apologize for any mistakes. The wait for sandwiches at time is ridiculous. BEST SANDWICHES I'VE EVER HAD. HANDS DOWN. every bite is delicious. the yard is a peaceful oasis and the staff is both beautiful and charming. Your Block Island trip is just not complete without going to three sisters. Things that are awesome- twisted sister- a sandwich containing bacon, cheddar, avocado, tomato, lettuce and turkey. the most popular sandwich by far. Any of the sandwiches and wraps can be made into a salad and the salads the best on the island. Incredible chocolate chip cookies...get there early before they stop baking them for the day. They also have dinner outside in the yard called MR. SISTER, they grill fresh seafood and always have live music in the yard under candlelight. Very Romantic. Very good price. BYOB. Pretty subpar service. One of the "sisters" was rude and they got the order wrong. Perhaps the sandwich competition is not terribly stiff so they can act the way they do. All of us were pretty hungry so although we received the wrong order we ate the sandwiches anyway. One of the best lunch spots on the island! I could eat here every day. It's a small place and might take a bit of time since they are so busy, but worth the wait.
