We had the most amazing dinner last night. First we started with spicy margaritas. They were so good! Then we had salads, very good wedge salad and house salad with huckleberry vinaigrette. Both really good. But the best were the entrees. Hubby had the special Ono fish with a brown butter sauce. He said it was excellent and a very generous portion. I had the duck breast with sweet potato puree. It was seriously one of the best I have ever had! I highly recommend it! read more

We go here a few times a year for dinner. The bar seating has a balcony that overlooks Pack River but the bees were pretty bad this year so didn't sit outside. Great drinks and food. I usually get a fish dish which is always good. My husband and I don't golf but our son loves to golf here. read more

Two stars because the course is actually beautiful. Just flew up from Las Vegas to play this course. Told I was grouped with 3 other people on my tee time. Well while waiting for the other 3 for 15 mins leading up to the tee time, a group of 4 show up and have to wait for me. So I tee off and rush through two holes. Now I'm sitting on a single taking his time. Why, because he is waiting on the two in front of him. Apparently everyone decides to tee off on their own time and turn the course into a waiting game. There is literally no one else on the course. Then they decide to join back up and slow everything back down. They let me skip that hole and the lovely two ladies in front of them let me skip another. Im already two hours into this fiasco and im still waiting for a simple hot dog I paid for two hours prior. Never to be seen again. So I just skipped the last 6 holes and left since I had to get food from somewhere. Pretty disappointing establishment. read more

Terrible. My first experience with them was over the phone a couple of months ago. Website is awful. Only drinks are posted - no menu. I tried to find out if they were even open and couldn't get a response. We decided to give them a try for dinner. Made a reservation. Came in and got seated. The restaurant was 1/4 full with what I think were 4 waitresses and a "water" person. We waited 20 minutes and were never acknowledged. Never got water. Never a "we will be right with you." Menu is less than impressive but we will never know if the food is good. read more

This review is just for the restaurant. My wife and I decided to try this restaurant as we had heard great things from friends in the Sandpoint community. We were not disappointed! Beautiful restaurant, amazing chef, and our server Lori was excellent! We used to love 41 South but since they closed were lucky to still have the Idaho Club even though its a bit further away. Went here for our anniversary dinner and really enjoyed it. We made reservations ahead of time and had asked for a nice table and we were seated on the patio overlooking the putting green and the river, very scenic. The patio is large and has great views from all of it. The menu is compact; but varied. We shared the Bang Bang shrimp appetizer, which was very good. I had the Poke Tuna salad and my husband the Wagu Burger; both were excellent. The huckleberry martini was lovely. Decent selection of wines by the glass. The only reason it's not getting 5 stars is the there was a delay in the Dessert and of the 4 listed desserts only 2 were available; brownies and ice cream shouldn't take that long to arrive. The waitress did apologize and she was excellent throughout the service. First time trying this restaurant; but will be back. read more

Food is very good but it's a bit pricey. Great steaks and fish. Service is excellent and they have a great bar that makes a variety of cocktails. The view of the golf course and Pack River is stunning with an occasional moose or eagle sighting. read more

Our foursome will never play The Idaho Club again. Despite that our pace of play was consistent with PGA guidelines, we were "played through" by members 6 times! Interrupted our play 6 times! The course manager actually came out to tell us that members following us wanted to play through and members play fast and we were (as nonmembers) expected to let them though. That, even though they booked a twosome behind us, a twosome behind them and a single behind that twosome. The worse was the uppity arrogance of the "privileged" members, supported by course staff, who believe that you need to get out of their way. And, for this experience we paid $94 each. The course is beautiful, but very disappointed there was not a beverage cart out on a holiday weekend. If you want a beer or a bite to eat, get it before the first tee because you don't return to the clubhouse until after 18. read more

My wife and I celebrated our 17th wedding anniversary last week, so naturally, we were looking for a nice place to eat. My wife called the Idaho Club earlier in the week to make a reservation and they told us not to make one, and that "walk-ins were HIGHLY encouraged." Sounded good to us. We arrived just before 6pm and went to check in with the hostess. She first asked us if we had a reservation and we told her we didn't. She then told us that we weren't going to be able to be seated that evening because we didn't have a reservation. Hmm. Okay. Some mixed messaging coming from the Idaho Club Restaurant staff. My wife and I have both worked in several restaurants in the past, and we were really surprised they didn't do the whole, "We are super busy with reservations right now, but why don't you have a seat and we'll try to fit you in when we can." No worries. We left, and had a great dinner at another local restaurant. Perhaps we will try again some other day. read more

My husband and I visited the Idaho Club while visiting some family nearby. We began the day experiencing what the fairways had to offer... this did not disappoint. While it beat us up a little, the cascading valleys and scenic bluffs were awe inspiring. After submission of a high 80s score card it was time to kick back and try their restaurant. Wow! Fresh, flavorful and fantastic! One thing I want to highlight... with Covid all around us, this seems to be the only place doing anything to help prevent the spread. The GM was directing staff and sanitizing the entire place. We felt safe, we left happy. We will be back and we will tell our friends and family to experience the Idaho Club! Great job! read more

We only go there twice a year, but every time we go, we are met with professional courtesy and the feeling that they remember us from the last visit. We've never had a bad meal, but in fact, great chow there. Keep it up! read more

Showed up on a beautiful Monday morning to play a round a golf with my son and father-in-law. Arrived for a tee time at 8:40 that we had scheduled days before. When we arrived at the course they said they did not have our reservation but told us to pay and we could proceed. Apparently, nonmembers are not allowed to start until 10:30. (The person who gave us our tee time over the phone knew we were not members.) After a few holes, we had someone that was obviously a member come up to us and ask us who we were. He must have called the general manager, Dave Sanders, who came out and accosted us about being on the course. He was rude and unprofessional. We informed him that the club house told us to go ahead and play and we paid our fees. We understood golf etiquette and would move over if someone caught up to us. After 2 more holes the enjoyment of playing was gone due to the rudeness of the general manager. Returned to the club house and had our fees returned ($360). Spoke again with the general manager prior to leaving, who was still rude and unprofessional, and explained if he just talked to us in an approachable manner and realized that we were paying customers and had done what was asked of us we could have finished the day with memories of a great day with my family. I guess the North Idaho Club DOES NOT WANT OR NEED nonmembers playing on the course. We spend much of our summer here in Sandpoint, but I guess our golf time will occur in Coeur d'Alene. read more

My husband and I went here for a quiet brunch for his birthday. The hostess was lovely and gave us a quiet table. We ordered mimosas from our waiter and went to grab some food. It was a small selection of some cooked items like bacon, sausages, eggs, quiche, french toast yogurt+ granola and croissants. And a waffle maker but there was a chef making omelettes. Unfortunately as we sat down, our waiter brought our huckleberry mimosas and spilled one all over my husband covering his shirt, jeans, jacket and chair. Thankfully he was wearing dark colors but my poor husband's right side was soaked for most of the meal. The waiter was apologetic and brought him another one but mine was still sticky from the other one spilled all over it. The views were lovely as it was snowing. The food was much better with the old chef before the restaurant burned down a few yrs back. I thought at least my husband's mimosa would be complimentary but alas the waiter didn't and also didn't apologise again when he brought us the bill. If he spilled it on me, I would be sending my dry cleaning bill to the restaurant. It's a shame as we were really hoping to have a great dining experience but instead we got terrible service and mediocre food. read more

My wife and I made reservations for 7:00 to meet some friends for dinner after they finished golfing. We arrived about 6:30 and were able to sit at the bar and wait. We waited about 15 minutes while 3 busy nose-ring wearing bartenders mixed drinks in front of us for table orders and ignored us. Finally, after my wife quietly said to me, "are we invisible?", the bartender with the tattoos finally acknowledged us. I ordered 2 vodka tonics, a simple order. After pouring the vodka, she questioned the tonic. "Both tonic?". She placed the weak drinks on the bar in front of us with a smile. No napkins or coasters. Maybe we are "old school", but we were surprised that a high class place would allow their service employees to wear nose rings on the job. I've spent many years behind the bar and understand being busy, but even a "we'll be right with you" when we arrived would have been nice. We were seated on the big beautiful deck at 7, and our friends arrived a short time later. The waitress, Whitney, was awesome and the food was very good. More butter with the bread would be nice. The scampi was good, but I didn't like having to pull the tails off the shrimp. My wife really enjoyed the Wagu burger. Our friends, my wife's employers, had planned to treat us, which was fine. We don't plan on visiting again unless they want to treat again. read more

This is the very best golf course I have ever given a 2 star review to and I would be eager to replay the course but there is so much room for improvement that the course deserves some stern criticism. Firstly, it is a Jack Nicholas design so it is unjustly punitive to the average golfer. Jack likes blind shots, false fronts, hidden deep bunkers and fickle green breaks. Expect to hit perfect shots that will not be rewarded and end in lost balls. This makes for an interesting course to play regularly but if you are going to play the course just once you might be better off just skipping this tract. Ok. Here is the good first: the course was beautiful and many of the vistas and landscaping was the best of Idaho. Now the bad: the management seems determined to amplify all the insecurities of the walk on golfer. Scorecards are printed small and have the bare minimum amount of useful information humanly possible. Cart signage and road signage is so obscure that literally every single person we spoke to could not find the driving range. Only one single marker,at 150 yards was always available, otherwise the golfer is left guessing or searching incessantly for marked sprinkler heads which were never close enough to be helpful, and only ever reported the center of green. You mind this less when you realize that all the flags are blue so you won't know if the flag is front until you are standing on the green. There is no gps available in the carts and no yardage book for sale in the clubhouse. All of this could be fixed using technology available to $25 muni tracts and are grossly absent in a course of this quality. Now the really bad. There are zero toilets except portables on the course. There is no water stations, no trash cans and no ball washing stations. This further exacerbated the circumstance of having 9 holes leading out and another 9 until you get back to the clubhouse 4-5 hours later. I would happily pay $200 to play this course 5 times but you couldn't pay me to play this course again for the first time. read more
