    Beef noodles

We briefly visited last Oct and bought to go due to time constraints- it was pretty good. Thus time we get a chance to visit. Very authentic dim sum. Loved chicken feet. Steamed dumplings. Kong pao was a bit too sweet to my taste Beef dishes were both yummy. And beef noodles is my son's fav and he loved it. Will definitely come again next time in Charlotte

Tried the dim sum here. My friends duck dumplings were ice cold and my pork/chicken and chive ones were raw in the middle. I was SO disappointed. The fried ribs and soup dumplings were good but I'm definitely turned off. To serve guests raw chicken is unconscionable. To make it worse, the manager never even came over to apologize. My friends to go order was incorrect too.

I can't imagine you could find a more authentic Chinese meal in Charlotte. As soon as we walked in, you could smell the authenticity in the air. It was exactly what I had hoped for. The staff was super friendly and joyful making the experience even better. Such a big menu made things intimidating and exciting at the same time. But what we ordered was awesome. The Beef Chow Fun was really good, just felt like it was just a little bland for my liking. But the dumplings... best soup dumplings in the city!! I could've ate 40. And next time I might, because we will definitely be back. Hoping that I find another amazing dish next time!! Can't wait to get back!

Fantastic ambiance and service at the Imperial Treasure. I was a little bummed they were out of the bone broth XLB. Instead I got the pork XLB, the skins were a little thick and there was very little soup but they were meaty and I love they all came pre-spooned. The duck dumplings were super yummy and filling! I was confused about the chicken skewers bc I was expecting something different based on the menu photo. These were okay. But service was perfect, checking in at the right times.

Despite having a near-disastrous experience at the Matthew location, I wanted to check out this Ballantyne location to see if it was better. So I finally swung in here for a late weekday lunch... First of all, I was surprised to see that this place looked about as nice as the Matthew location. Different, but just as nice. Also, just as the Matthew location, I loved the pictured menu...and the menu options were quite plentiful. This is not just Dim Sum place, but a full Chinese restaurant. Anyway, I decided to try their "Rainbow" Dumplings, along with their Beef Chow Fun. Well, the Chow Fun was really good, and I would order it again. But then the "Rainbow" Dumplings...was a MESS. The presentation was beyond bad...and I didn't even get all 5 colors. WTF?!? If you look at other Yelp pictures of this same "Rainbow" Dumplings, they looked nothing like mine. Seriously, with a name like "Rainbow" Dumplings, you expect a full color variety. Not only did I get 4 white-whitish dumplings, and other washed-out colors, I got 2 in different shapes altogether. This is simply not acceptable! This was obviously a botched version. Luckily the Dumplings tasted pretty good on the most part...but I'll say it again, the presentation was beyond bad...it was TERRIBLE. I WANT to love this restaurant...I really do! But, at both Matthew and this Ballantyne location (where I got this botched up Singapore Noodle!), I keep getting ripped somehow with these badly botched up items. Could it be that since I'm there around 2 pm, the main Chef is off...and I'm getting items created by a Junior Chef or a Trainee?? Due to this botched "Rainbow" item, I have no choice but to drop 2 stars. I actually sent a note to the Manager about this, but didn't even get a reply. So I decided to change my 3 to 2 stars. If I got a decent presentation of the "Rainbow", I might have even dropped 5 stars...as I actually really liked the vibe at this restaurant. It's so frustrating. While I love the menus at these restaurants, I just don't know why I keep getting botched up items?!? I may check out this place at least 1 more time in the future to see if this (botched dishes!) is a recurring issue here at these 2 restaurants. But unfortunately, a very disappointing first experience...now at BOTH locations.

Exactly what I anticipated from Imperial Treasure -- a good meal all around, with the soup slightly standing out.

Have been wanting to try this place for a while. I got the shrimp rice roll, custard buns, rainbow dumplings, chicken skewers, crispy har gow, it was all great! Good service. It was a ton of food. Took a few boxes home. Good ambiance. Will be back.

For authentic Chinese cuisine this is a must for any foodie. I had to try this spot as it was highly recommended by my coworker. A native of China who raves about the authenticity of this restaurant. I was not disappointed by any stretch of the imagination. Seems a bit new and the decor could be touched up a bit but with the great weather at this time of year the expansive patio is the place to eat. The dishes are family style which is very traditional and makes for quite the communal experience with friends, family or a loved one. Dishes aren't brought out all at once so this allows you the time to savor each dish on its own and then in pairing as other dishes arrived. It has been a while since I've been impressed with a new restaurant but my expectations were all met at Imperial Treasure...a treasure worth its weight in gold.

I want to like this place more, I think their food is good mostly, so dim sum is better than the others. The food tasted the same as Matthews location. The staff were all friendly, but the order of foods comes late, we came on New Year Day, it was a zoo the order went to the wrong place or it is dancing around between tables to see who order it. We have to check the order and have to wait for something to be remake. The restaurant trying to look nice, but considering that they only opened less than a year, the wallpaper was already bubbling up. They are have some damage to the wall on some of the tables. It is the attention to details that is missing. Good food but needs help on management. I hope one day I can go to all the location it has great service and food comes accordingly.

I've been to this location about 3 times already and I love to get my dim sum fix here especially when I am missing New York. Liz is the best server. She is so helpful and attentive especially with our big group. Andrew is so accommodating and welcomed us with open arms. We had the best lunch and felt so taken care of. The food was delcious espciecally after starving at work. Everyone's favorites were the string beans, eggplant, chow fun, and of course the show stopper custard lava buns. We also got the mapo tofu that wasn't too spicy, spare ribs, chicken feet, durian puff, and xiu mai. We got the dan dan noodles last time but it was too Szechuan for me but if you enjoy that cooling numbing spice go for it! If you prefer more like a mild numbing noodles the chow mein is a great option, similar to pad see ew if you're into Thai food. The location is nice, new, and clean. The parking is accessible as it's shared with a ton of other businesses. It's like the epicenter at a smaller scale. We love to eat here and bring family and friends!

We loved this place! More authentic than anything you'll find in the Carolinas. We ordered rainbow dumplings, soup dumplings, steamed shrimp rolls, green beans, Dan Dan noodles and beef chow fun. Everything was delicious! The staff was very accommodating and stayed on top of refills, provided instructions and even patiently helped us practice Mandarin. We forgot to take food pics but included is a pic of what we ordered from the menu.

5/5! Wow! Amazing place. I had only heard about it a few hours before going and so glad I did. Note: This is on the second floor of the Ballantyne Village. The staff were incredibly kind, informative and welcoming. The ambiance was laid back and relaxed. I started off with their hot Green Tea, it was packed with flavor and a perfect start. I first ordered their pork soup dumplings and steamed buns. The soup dumplings were the best I've ever had in Charlotte! They didn't fall apart, had tons of soup and pork in them and were so flavorful! The steamed buns were equally good! Light, fluffy, packed with meat and so good! I decided to skip dessert and ordered something I'd never had before. Duck Dumplings. They were unique, but in the best way possible! Huge amounts of duck mixed with veggies and bursting with flavor. I cannot wait to go back!

I arrived about half an hour after opening time. It has a very clean look to it. Each of the tables has some sort of parchment table covering. Very good unique look. I ordered some dim sum namely the pork soup dumplings. Judging from the picture on the menu, I was expecting a decent serving. After all, it would be six dumplings. I also ordered some dessert type dumplings that had a caramel sauce type filling. At any rate, I quickly learned that perhaps the dim sum is not what to order here. A couple who arrived and ordered much later than I were eating what looked to be hotpot within minutes. It took over half an hour for my meal to arrive. Further, the dumplings were quite small. I might come back some day and try something besides the dim sum. Even though the food was delicious, I don't feel the value is there for what you pay and I certainly don't want to wait half an hour for food.

Whenever I am up in Charlotte, I look forward to my meal here. I love going early on weekends (avoid the crowd and wait time) when they have cart service. So much to choose from. If dining when cart service isn't available, they have their regular menu and also a dim sum menu. It's not cheap, but the quality, service and atmosphere are worth the extra pennies.

Unfortunately, the execution didn't quite live up to expectations. Many of the hot items coming around on the carts--especially the dumplings and rice noodle dishes--were noticeably cold by the time they reached the table. Service also seemed strained; the restaurant appeared short-staffed, which made it difficult to get attention or request specific items. The portions felt small for the price point, and overall it didn't feel like a great value for the money. Despite that, the restaurant is absolutely packed every weekend, so clearly it has a loyal following. Having experienced incredible dim sum in places like Sugar Land, Texas, and especially throughout the San Francisco Bay Area, it's hard not to compare. Those spots set a very high bar, and unfortunately Open Rice Metropolitan doesn't quite measure up.

We were a party of 4 on a Saturday, and it was my friends birthday. We were seated at a low four top and my friend received a special menu with Happy Birthday watermarked on it which was a nice touch. We ordered some drinks and then food basically tapas style. We had a variety of rolls and a couple non sushi starters like peppers and crispy shrimp. All of the plates came out at a good pace, we were able to enjoy the current before starting the next. The drinks were solid and the service was great- friendly and attentive, clearing out plates and silverware with each round. I can see why this was such a highly rated and booked spot. I was in one of those "I need noodles immediately" moods, and Sun's Kitchen did not disappoint. I called my order in for takeout, and everything was packed perfectly. No leaks, no mess, still hot when I got home, and the portion was surprisingly generous for the price. The dan dan noodles here are rich, savory, a little spicy, and incredibly comforting. If you're not familiar with them, dan dan noodles are a classic Sichuan street food dish from Chengdu traditionally tossed in a spicy, numbing ma-la sauce with pork, scallions, and pickled vegetables. Sun's Kitchen does a really delicious version that's flavorful without feeling too heavy. The noodles have that perfect chewy texture, and every bite has just enough heat to keep you going back for more. If you're someone who's curious about ethnic food but maybe unsure where to start, this is honestly a great entry-level dish. Yes, there's a little spice, but it's approachable and balanced. The dining room itself is modern and beautiful, and now that they serve beer and wine, I definitely need to come back and enjoy a full dine-in experience instead of rushing home with takeout. The only caveat is the parking lot can get a little chaotic since it's shared with neighboring businesses, especially during busy hours. But trust me, it's worth circling for a spot. Charlotte, there's a big wide world of food out there, and places like Sun's Kitchen make exploring it easy and delicious. Get out there and eat your way through it.
