was in NC, to visit a friend, and spotted a dim sum spot. And I looked at my friend, have you been? He said ofc! And it's quite good! So ofc, we had to go! I was surprisingly impressed! The chefs knew what they were doing! The food was well seasoned. The dumpling wrappers weren't too thick, and the baos were really fluffy. However, the items were a tad bit pricey, it was like $6 - 7 per dish. But being able to find good dim sum in the south is very rare. So it is worth it. The were also running a promo if you order $20+ worth of food, you get one dim sum for free! We ordered: Pork and chives dumplings Char siu bao Shrimp rice noodles Egg tart

Sometime all the stars align and you visit a restaurant that does everything well. Wow, yesterday was one of those days. So well done, in fact, that I'm nearly afraid to return. First, the place is bright and tastefully decorated. Our waiter, Ying, did a wonderful job not missing a beat. Our food came out at predictable intervals and each item was cooked perfectly. I mean exceptionally prepared with each tasting differently from the other. Too often flavors tend to muddle once you begin to mix entrees and mains. Not today! I asked Ying to compliment the chef. Whoever did the cooking was in the zone. Stellar. And rarely am I so effusive! I don't know if your experience will rival ours, but this visit had my "Give 'em a Whirl" meter twirling around the tables and shouting for joy. Support local. Go here.

Me and my family came here for my sister birthday and my waiter name is Taylor and he's amazing. Super amazing. The food is amazing.

We briefly visited last Oct and bought to go due to time constraints- it was pretty good. Thus time we get a chance to visit. Very authentic dim sum. Loved chicken feet. Steamed dumplings. Kong pao was a bit too sweet to my taste Beef dishes were both yummy. And beef noodles is my son's fav and he loved it. Will definitely come again next time in Charlotte

Tried the dim sum here. My friends duck dumplings were ice cold and my pork/chicken and chive ones were raw in the middle. I was SO disappointed. The fried ribs and soup dumplings were good but I'm definitely turned off. To serve guests raw chicken is unconscionable. To make it worse, the manager never even came over to apologize. My friends to go order was incorrect too.

I can't imagine you could find a more authentic Chinese meal in Charlotte. As soon as we walked in, you could smell the authenticity in the air. It was exactly what I had hoped for. The staff was super friendly and joyful making the experience even better. Such a big menu made things intimidating and exciting at the same time. But what we ordered was awesome. The Beef Chow Fun was really good, just felt like it was just a little bland for my liking. But the dumplings... best soup dumplings in the city!! I could've ate 40. And next time I might, because we will definitely be back. Hoping that I find another amazing dish next time!! Can't wait to get back!

Despite having a near-disastrous experience at the Matthew location, I wanted to check out this Ballantyne location to see if it was better. So I finally swung in here for a late weekday lunch... First of all, I was surprised to see that this place looked about as nice as the Matthew location. Different, but just as nice. Also, just as the Matthew location, I loved the pictured menu...and the menu options were quite plentiful. This is not just Dim Sum place, but a full Chinese restaurant. Anyway, I decided to try their "Rainbow" Dumplings, along with their Beef Chow Fun. Well, the Chow Fun was really good, and I would order it again. But then the "Rainbow" Dumplings...was a MESS. The presentation was beyond bad...and I didn't even get all 5 colors. WTF?!? If you look at other Yelp pictures of this same "Rainbow" Dumplings, they looked nothing like mine. Seriously, with a name like "Rainbow" Dumplings, you expect a full color variety. Not only did I get 4 white-whitish dumplings, and other washed-out colors, I got 2 in different shapes altogether. This is simply not acceptable! This was obviously a botched version. Luckily the Dumplings tasted pretty good on the most part...but I'll say it again, the presentation was beyond bad...it was TERRIBLE. I WANT to love this restaurant...I really do! But, at both Matthew and this Ballantyne location (where I got this botched up Singapore Noodle!), I keep getting ripped somehow with these badly botched up items. Could it be that since I'm there around 2 pm, the main Chef is off...and I'm getting items created by a Junior Chef or a Trainee?? Due to this botched "Rainbow" item, I have no choice but to drop 2 stars. I actually sent a note to the Manager about this, but didn't even get a reply. So I decided to change my 3 to 2 stars. If I got a decent presentation of the "Rainbow", I might have even dropped 5 stars...as I actually really liked the vibe at this restaurant. It's so frustrating. While I love the menus at these restaurants, I just don't know why I keep getting botched up items?!? I may check out this place at least 1 more time in the future to see if this (botched dishes!) is a recurring issue here at these 2 restaurants. But unfortunately, a very disappointing first experience...now at BOTH locations.

For authentic Chinese cuisine this is a must for any foodie. I had to try this spot as it was highly recommended by my coworker. A native of China who raves about the authenticity of this restaurant. I was not disappointed by any stretch of the imagination. Seems a bit new and the decor could be touched up a bit but with the great weather at this time of year the expansive patio is the place to eat. The dishes are family style which is very traditional and makes for quite the communal experience with friends, family or a loved one. Dishes aren't brought out all at once so this allows you the time to savor each dish on its own and then in pairing as other dishes arrived. It has been a while since I've been impressed with a new restaurant but my expectations were all met at Imperial Treasure...a treasure worth its weight in gold.

Fantastic ambiance and service at the Imperial Treasure. I was a little bummed they were out of the bone broth XLB. Instead I got the pork XLB, the skins were a little thick and there was very little soup but they were meaty and I love they all came pre-spooned. The duck dumplings were super yummy and filling! I was confused about the chicken skewers bc I was expecting something different based on the menu photo. These were okay. But service was perfect, checking in at the right times.

Exactly what I anticipated from Imperial Treasure -- a good meal all around, with the soup slightly standing out.

I've been to this location about 3 times already and I love to get my dim sum fix here especially when I am missing New York. Liz is the best server. She is so helpful and attentive especially with our big group. Andrew is so accommodating and welcomed us with open arms. We had the best lunch and felt so taken care of. The food was delcious espciecally after starving at work. Everyone's favorites were the string beans, eggplant, chow fun, and of course the show stopper custard lava buns. We also got the mapo tofu that wasn't too spicy, spare ribs, chicken feet, durian puff, and xiu mai. We got the dan dan noodles last time but it was too Szechuan for me but if you enjoy that cooling numbing spice go for it! If you prefer more like a mild numbing noodles the chow mein is a great option, similar to pad see ew if you're into Thai food. The location is nice, new, and clean. The parking is accessible as it's shared with a ton of other businesses. It's like the epicenter at a smaller scale. We love to eat here and bring family and friends!

I want to like this place more, I think their food is good mostly, so dim sum is better than the others. The food tasted the same as Matthews location. The staff were all friendly, but the order of foods comes late, we came on New Year Day, it was a zoo the order went to the wrong place or it is dancing around between tables to see who order it. We have to check the order and have to wait for something to be remake. The restaurant trying to look nice, but considering that they only opened less than a year, the wallpaper was already bubbling up. They are have some damage to the wall on some of the tables. It is the attention to details that is missing. Good food but needs help on management. I hope one day I can go to all the location it has great service and food comes accordingly.

5/5! Wow! Amazing place. I had only heard about it a few hours before going and so glad I did. Note: This is on the second floor of the Ballantyne Village. The staff were incredibly kind, informative and welcoming. The ambiance was laid back and relaxed. I started off with their hot Green Tea, it was packed with flavor and a perfect start. I first ordered their pork soup dumplings and steamed buns. The soup dumplings were the best I've ever had in Charlotte! They didn't fall apart, had tons of soup and pork in them and were so flavorful! The steamed buns were equally good! Light, fluffy, packed with meat and so good! I decided to skip dessert and ordered something I'd never had before. Duck Dumplings. They were unique, but in the best way possible! Huge amounts of duck mixed with veggies and bursting with flavor. I cannot wait to go back!

Unfortunately, the actual experience was nothing like the hype. First, parking is a nightmare. I would seriously add an extra 20-30 minutes just to find a spot. Once we finally made it inside, we waited another 30 minutes to be seated. After sitting down, it took close to another 30 minutes before anyone came to take our order, and then roughly another 30 minutes for the food to arrive. So you're potentially looking at well over an hour and a half of waiting and inconvenience before you really get to eat. And the dim sum cart that brought us there in the first place? We never saw one. They did have a dim sum menu that we could order from, but that was not the experience being promoted in the videos we had seen. The food itself was just okay. Nothing was terrible, but nothing justified the hype or the amount of time and hassle involved. If you've had good dim sum in places like New York, Toronto, Los Angeles, or San Francisco, this isn't remotely in the same league. Between the parking, the long waits, slow service, missing dim sum cart, and average food, I genuinely don't understand the crowds. Hard pass for us. Once and done.

As a Bay Area foodie, I'm always searching for Chinese food that gives me that same feeling I get in San Francisco or Houston's Chinatown. Lam's comes close. The ingredients taste fresh, everything is made to order, the proteins are tender, and the flavors have depth without being heavy or overdone. This visit, I ordered the scallion beef, and it was excellent--tender beef, plenty of scallions and onions, and beautifully seasoned. I asked for something spicy on the side, thinking sambal or hot chili sauce, and they brought me chili crisp. Perfect. And yes, I know sweet and sour pork can sound cliché, but theirs deserves some respect. It's made with cubes of tender pork, bell peppers and pineapple, and the sauce isn't cloyingly sweet. The quality of the pork makes the dish. I'm already looking forward to the leftovers. Other favorites include the string beans with ground pork and the beef with broccoli. Both are stellar. They also have an extensive dim sum menu. It's ordered from the menu rather than served from carts, which means there's plenty more for me to work my way through. There's something comforting about eating here. Seeing families gathered around the tables enjoying Chinese food sometimes makes me a little homesick for meals out with my mom. Food has a funny way of doing that. The restaurant itself is clean, comfortable and nicely air-conditioned, with a large live seafood/lobster tank. Service is friendly and fast. Portions are generous, prices are reasonable, and there's an easy parking lot right outside. Lam's Kitchen has earned a permanent spot in my rotation. I'll happily keep making the drive to Matthews and eating my way through the menu. Life is too short not to eat well. Get out there and find your next meal.

I pulled the waitress aside to check on the delay, she explained they had a sudden influx of customers but she'd ask the kitchen to move a little quicker. The food did start coming out after that, and the managers came over to address the delay, which I appreciated, but the damage was done. I wanted a memorable birthday experience for my daughter, and unfortunately it ended up being a bit of a disappointment considering the time and cost. The pork lo mein, while also generally bland in the noodle and sauce department, had generous helpings of roast char siu pork that were decently flavorful. This was the only saving grace of the meal. ==The Bad== The wonton soup was lacking a bit in salt, which i understand may be a personal taste preference, but there also wasn't any particularly strong flavor from the wontons so the whole dish just felt dissatisfying. The sauce in the Mongolian beef wasn't very savory so it, too, came off a bit bland. To their credit, the cuts of beef were actually quite good and the vegetables were decent, but without a solid tasting sauce the whole thing falls a part. ==The Ugly== The teriyaki chicken skewers were just chicken with teriyaki sauce poured over them. It seems almost heretical that they didn't bbq these skewers in the sauce. This was the most disappointing part of the meal. Overall, pretty on par for restaurants that have long lost their passion for this game. If you've never had Chinese in Boston, LA or New York, you'll probably like this place. More well-traveled patrons should look elsewhere.
