There is parking in the back directly across from the police station. I had not heard of the place before but because I work for an airline, I checked in the General Manager of the place months ago and he offered me a coupon for the restaurant that offered a FREE PLATE! Exceeded all expectations. We were recommended to try the pork rolls, which will knock your socks off, and twice baked jalapeños for starters. This is definitely how to begin. Along with some delicious margaritas. I started with the classic and then the pomegranate and all I can say is, yum, yum, yum. I opted for a BBQ salad, and it was fresh, supersized, and the BBQ tender and flavorful. Other entrees at my table looked so appealing and I was able to take a few bites, and will definitely return to try more. Our waitress, Casey, was an absolute gem. Her kind and friendly service made us feel so welcomed. Their lovely manager, Tillie, stopped by to make sure everything was good, and she made us feel right at home. My wife got takeout of one lb of brisket and 2 lbs of pulled pork with three small sides. Total came to $90 with tax. Brisket was $30 a pound and the pulled pork was $20 a pound which is a bit pricey but I'll pay for quality. For sh!tz and giggles, I decided to weigh the packages they came in on small calibrated scale. In the plastic containers they came in, the pulled pork weighed 12.54 ounces and 14.32 ounces respectively and the brisket weighed 15 ounces. So I was shorted over 17% of the pork (not to mention the weight of the packaging) and almost 10% of the brisket. Kinda sucks. read more

And boy did he steer us to the right place! We were greeted, seated, and served by Xavier. The service alone was outstanding and earns 6 out of 5 stars, now for the food... I ordered a jalapeño margarita (infused in house) and my fiancé ordered the regular margarita (Margs are only $5 on Saturdays, WINNING!!!). The jalapeno marg was crisp and refreshing, not really spicy just had a bite to it. I would drink one of these every day if I could! We ordered the pork roll and the wings as appetizers. The pork roll was filled with pulled pork, cheese, and coleslaw. OMG, it was perfect and sooooo delicious! The wings were crispy and cooked to perfection. They come out dry, so you can put any or all of the 6 delicious BBQ sauces on them. If you're not a saucy person, the ranch is made in-house and super yummy as well.. (TBH they were amazing dry also...) You can't go wrong here! We each order the Bao Buns with brisket, pulled pork, and chicken. All were delicious but the brisket and pork stood out and were jam-packed with flavor! Each plate came with a side, but we couldn't choose just one, so we ordered the Mac n Cheese, sweet potatoes, spicy green beans, and collard greens (made with vinegar). So our first experience here why is not the best but we wanted to come back on a day that was less busy to see if we would have a better experience. Unfortunately, we did not have a better experience. We came back on a different weekend when it was way less busy. We were seated right away, and our server immediately came over to take her drink order. We had some beers and my boyfriend ordered an Old Fashioned. He said the Old Fashioned was one of the bests he has ever had. We ordered the tuna appetizer, and it was pretty good. It was a little smaller than we expected, but that wasabi aïoli was so delicious . We ordered the ribs and the Improper Platter. The ribs were good but the meat in the platter was cold on the inside. There was also some confusion around what was gluten free. We got it figured out but overall I don't think we will return. What a great night out! We are still observing precautions due to COVID so we wanted a nice outdoor dining experience and boy did we find one! We had not visited this location yet but remembered the pork rolls that drew us back in. We were greeted warmly and seated quickly. There were four of us so we got two orders which proved to be ample. Amazing and a must-try item. I'm the type who looks at the menu prior to going to a restaurant. I was sold on the Fern Bowl. Sara (no "h") endorsed it so I was sold. OMG! That thing was amazing. Who would think that macaroni and cheese would go well with pulled pork and cilantro (my favorite). I've been wanting to try this place for a long time and I finally made it last night. I went to the Fort Mill location where we were sat immediately and handed menus. Our waitress was the bartender and she was very polite and friendly. My husband ordered a pork chop with spicy green beans and coleslaw and I got the pulled pork with baked beans and coleslaw. I was starving so I also got hush puppies as an appetizer. I am a hush puppy SNOB! So if you have them on the menu, I'm going to order some! These hush puppies did not disappoint! They were perfect! The honey butter complimented them well! I was so excited after tasting the hush puppies, but that's where it ended... My pork was very bland and all of the sauces were watery. The coleslaw was awful, it didn't have a taste and even after adding salt and pepper, I decided to give up. The baked beans were ok but definitely needed salt and something else, I'm just not sure what. I ordered a mocktail, the one with cucumbers in it and it was sooooooooooooooo tart! I think the bartender may have forgotten the simple syrup... I ate here about a week ago for dinner. The food is average and by food I mean the barbecue food that they cook. The sides that go along with the foods here are Sysco brand bought frozen foods. I tell you this because it matters in the world of barbecue foods. Really good barbecue places focus on their entire menu and not just the meats that they're smoking or grilling. My biggest critique is that they use potato starch covered french fries. Why on earth would you use what is classified as a high volume French fry geared for serving large groups of people when you have a small sized restaurant. I'll tell you why it's because they're focused on cost and focused on making great food. I mean, how hard is it to take some potatoes and make good fries? I may come here again. It certainly won't be my first choice won't be my last choice, but I'll come here under known concessions. The service is as expected. read more

The two-level area and bar is both open and airy. Service was friendly and attentive from beginning to end during my first lunch visit. I played it safe and went with the Pulled Pork Platter with two sides for $12.99. The mound of meat was generous and, as expected, nicely smoked; however, it was touch dry. The sides were very good. I loved the rich and creamy grits which were served piping hot. The black-eyed pea salad was also flavorful. The hushpuppies are the sweet kind, which I like, but mine were served lukewarm. My buddy ordered a cheeseburger with homemade chips for about 10 bucks. The chips were among the best I have ever had, but the burger was just average, so if it's a burger you want then go to a burger joint. Overall, everything was okay but it didn't blow me away. My sides were sweet potato fries and coleslaw. My dining mate : grits and coleslaw. All tasty. The chicken came with garnish of pickled onion and a small delish hush puppy. My chicken was tender but the breast meat a tad dry. However on the table were a variety of house made bbq sauces which I put on my chicken. Came on a week night and it wasn't too crowded. There is plenty of parking in the shared lot. You don't need a reservation on a week night it wasn't busy. Sat at the bar which is unique as it's a pass through area and you will have people walking behind you at all times. This is a barbecue spot that has a variety of meats and traditional barbecue sides. We ordered the platter with chicken and brisket. The chicken was good and we figured out about the sauces on our own. The brisket has a lot of fat on it. The sweet potatoes was like a dessert. Drinks were good and strong. The black eye peas were fine. I loved the hush puppies and ordered a side of those. The shade that came with it I didn't use but it was an icing consistency and taste. The restroom was clean. This place went from great to good for me over the last few years. The menu just doesn't change enough to warrant a revisit unless i'm craving something specific from their offerings. As a brisket lover i often return to the improper platter which is choices of 2 meats and a side. the chow bao sliders are a delicious treat as well. The nachos are pretty good as well i hear.
