We love coming here anytime we visit Port Townsend. A hidden treasure with great drinks and the speakeasy vibe. The staff is always attentive and helpful in their suggestions. We even started the passport to go thru all the eras of drinks. Find this place and enjoy a delight to the senses.

Wow.. I had the lost in thyme and it was phenomenal! [[HIGHLIGHT]]I love the overall look inside[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] and service was amazing! Check this place out!!

The In Between, as the name says, is located between the first and second floor of the building. First floor is the entrance / ground level, and second floor is the main bar (Sirens). [[HIGHLIGHT]]This is a nice speakeasy with plenty of seating so we were able to choose where we want to sit.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We opted to sit at the bar and got the Divinus Serpens (tiki drink) and Slippery Slope (hot drink). The Divinus Serpens sounded enticing but it was a blended drink and it tasted watered down and strong at the same time. It lacked some flavor so I didn't really like it, but the presentation is good. When they say it's prepared with fire, I expected more than a tiny fire that you can't see since the drink was not filled all the way in the cup. The Slippery Slope is a rum and tea based cocktail that's pretty good and strong, but the presentation is lacking. The menu sounded more enticing than the actual drinks, based on a datapoint of 2 cocktails. We got some olives to-go so that we could catch the ferry back to Seattle in town, and I appreciated them preparing it quickly, and it is decent. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Overall, this is a decent speakeasy in ambience and menu descriptions but lack a bit in flavor.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

    Can you find this place?!

Good snacks and a great cocktail list. And the added bonuses of having to search to find it, and getting a little book of 200 classic cocktails to try (in repeat visits of course)! Must ask for the book (pst read the menu fully).

[[HIGHLIGHT]]Very cute little cocktail bar with almost a speakeasy vibe.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]Located halfway up the stairs going to Sirens, it's easy to miss.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]When you step inside, it's pretty dark, and it feels like you have gone back in time to Prohibition era, with all the velvet upholstery and art deco lighting.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] For such a small place, the choice of alcohol is extensive and the bartender was excellent at his craft. Next time, I will have to try the food, but if it as good as the drinks, it will have earned 5 stars!

VoldeMalort and the liquor wall. They've got some amazing stuff up on those shelves..

Outstanding little cocktail lounge nestled into a legendary building on Water St. Our bartenders, Cameron and Areilla, were excellent - keeping pace with the crowd on a busy Friday night. My wife had multiple daiquiris with a variety of rums suggested by our bartenders, and I cycled through a mixture of their cocktail menu and scotch old fashioneds. All were exceptional. Cameron also managed to revive one of his old Malort-centric cocktails for me -- the VoldeMalort -- because my masochistic self can't say no to that vile liqueur. Shockingly, the cocktail was not only drinkable, but downright enjoyable! If you've ever tasted Malort, you know how freakin' hard it is to balance out that grapefruit/old gym sock taste in a mixed drink... so this is high praise for a bartender! We'll gladly come back here again the next time we're in Port Townsend!

    Looking at the menu

Tavia (hope I spelled that correctly) was out bartender. She made amazing drinks (highly recommend the sentient) she was welcoming, patient, and quick with the drinks. Thanks for the experience! The atmosphere of this bar is classic and comfortable. Beautiful decor, comfortable chairs and booths. 10/10 will be back!

    Inside, when you walk in.

The name is the location!! What a clever name for this lounge like bar. Friendly bartenders, swanky atmosphere, and delicious drinks(cocktails and mocktails)! I plan to come back to The In Between when visiting the area again.

a drink with a rubber duck in it

The guys running the bar know how to craft a cocktail. When you come here, and you should, order from their specialty cocktail menu. Or ask the server what's recommended. When I did, he asked me some questions about my taste (I don't like sweet drinks), he made me something called "squeaky clean", complete with a rubber ducky. It was terrific.

It was not easy to find but it was worth the phone call to find them 1/2 way up the stairs. The vodka gimlet was the best.

I love that the menu is simple and focused, yet everything is made so well. The ambiance was amazing as well. The restaurant is located inside the hotel lobby, which gives it a cozy, charming atmosphere that makes the dining experience feel unique. We ordered the Bishop Breakfast and the French Toast. We assumed the French Toast would be a smaller portion, but we were pleasantly surprised it was huge! It could easily be shared between two people. The breakfast was also a generous portion and could easily be split as well. Everything tasted fresh and was absolutely worth it. The French Toast practically melts in your mouth, and the breakfast was just as delicious. The service was wonderful too. Our server was attentive, kind, and made sure we had everything we needed. Definitely a must-try brunch spot. We'll be back!

But the food most definitely fell flat (sorry). The chicken burrito I ordered tasted like it was stuffed with Wonder Bread. (But that's not a bad thing if you like Wonder Bread -- many older people in the Pacific NW can't handle anything spicier than ketchup, so maybe this "works" for them. It was certainly soft, fresh and chewy Wonder Bread, so full credit for that.) The home-made tortilla chips were a very nice touch, very crunchy. The salsa served with it (verde and rojo) was a bit disappointing. If Gerber Baby Food made salsa, this would be it. Fresh, pretty bland, and had the consistency and texture of applesauce. They have a few unmarked bottles of house-made salsa, made with apple cider (according to one of the waitstaff) which was a bit spicier, but an unusual flavor. (My wife guessed that it had been made with beer.) So if you love Mexican food, but can't tolerate anything spicier than mayonnaise, this would be a great choice.
