It's kind of a speakeasy type place that only adds to every other great feature of the in between. No sign. Next door to soda shop and one level up from street below sirens. What a great spot! We had late night snacks and drinks here. The food was much better than expected, thinking this was a bar/lounge first and food spot second. Delicious!! We sat by the window overlooking the harbor. Staff was great also- very attentive, even the bar tender came out to check on us, out drinks and how we liked our food. I am more of a beer and wine gal but I love trying their cocktails. They are so different and really fun. I love how often they are infused with sour and bitter elements. Their mocktail menu is also really impressive and tasty. The small plates and meals are incredibly yummy. I can't wait to go back to try one of of their blended/tiki drinks. The bartenders and staff are sweet and open for conversation. What I like most about this place is how it is hidden away. It is dark, moody, and glamorous at the same time. We came here for snacks & drinks - the drinks were pretty good but a little sweeter then we were expecting, they've got a lot of potential but just need a little bit of work to be more balanced. Snacks were also good - the olives on their current menu are excellent. The spot was fun - we got a seat near the windows. Service was okay - our server was newer and very chatty and friendly, but forgot a couple of items while we were there because they were chatting with the other bartender. Whoa. This place is literally took my breath away. It's extremely gorgeous and the bartenders are AMAZING. They are super friendly, make sure you feel welcomed, and make sure you are taken care of. The Paris, Texas (rose cocktail) is THE BOMB.com. Omg if you love floral flavors this is where it's at! Their house made chips are super good too! My wife and i were EXTREMELY happy with the service, drinks, and apps!!! This place is definitely a gem! We have made a tradition to ALWAYS stop here for drinks when we are in port Townsend! It's got a a speakeasy vibe and incredible staff. The drinks are great and the atmosphere is fun. It's a little hard to find, on the outside you feel like you are going to sirens, but you have to just go halfway up the steps and your there. I only wish I was able to stay longer. read more

The cocktails we had here are the best I've had anywhere in a long time. They have a very creative cocktail menu with a lot of variety. We had the Rhubarbarella, Saturn Returns, and the tiki drink created by Tara of Hale Pele that I can't remember the name. All were excellent and, honestly, I'm surprised I can remember the name of anything after drinking the Saturn Returns. There's a reason you're only allowed to get one! The atmosphere was dark, boisterous, and fun. It seemed like everyone knew everyone else. However, the bar has only been open for a month and a half which means that the locals have already flocked here. That's definitely a good sign! The bartenders (owners?) were both nice and friendly and chatted with us for a bit even though they were very busy. They definitely could use an extra server, but maybe they'll get one soon. Very cool spot, especially for New Year's Eve! Highly recommend the Trans-Siberian Express (spicy twist on the Moscow Mule). Getting to know some of the locals (in and out of 1920s costume) was fun. Terribly unwelcoming. I look on Google for a place to have a drink. I find this place, and it says there are water views. I go inside and see a party checking out. I wait behind them, and don't see the water views mentioned. After the party in front of me finishes ringing up and having a lengthy dialogue with the bartender, the bartender finally acknowledges my presence and says I can sit if I'd like. I don't wish to sit, if there aren't water views, so I tell her I merely have a very quick question. She makes me wait an unusually long time, some sort of power trip. She takes about 10 minutes doing dishes and straightening the bar before she comes back to me and asks what my question was. I was about to walk out of the place right then and there, and said " thank you, yes, I read that you have water views, is it just these windows?" She gives me a real hard time but eventually tells me there's a patio, but drinks aren't served there. She then turns her back to me and walks away as we are having this dialogue. As she is walking away from me I politely inquire if I may at least see what it looks like. The rest is a sad story folks. She doesn't show me the outside, she points to it, and makes a big scene with not explaining to me how to get to it. I left. I must say, this town is so weird. Either the people are super polite and attentive, or they are like this bartender, and act as if your shadow has herpes. I don't know if I'll be visiting Port Townsend again. Too many stuck up prudes. I ended up going to a Japanese restaurant a couple blocks away and was treated with compassion, dignity, and respect. read more

The perfect Speak Easy. This is a fabulous new addition to our options for a evening out in Port Townsend. The location is worth the 11 stairs up ( see the Sirens sign but stop halfway) and the cocktails are worthy of the classiest bars in Manhattan. The only thing keeping this from being 5 stars is the stairs, which is hard for those of us with mobility issues. That said, once you get there, the seating is very comfortable, and the place has a great, old-time speakeasy feel to it. The cocktails are excellent, and they clearly know all the classics. While the food menu is for nibbly-bits, and not an actual meal, those nibbly-bits are quite tasty, and a great match for cocktails. Sadly, they were out of the lamb sliders, but their Deviled Eggs are top shelf! There is supposedly another bar at the top of the stairs, but we never made it, as we met contentment at The In Between. read more
