Agree with the majority of the reviews - that Jamie was a complete professional in managing and designing my order, and her delivery was on time as scheduled. My lower rating came in as a comparison. You see, I ordered from Jamie a specific design for a chocolate/chocolate cake that cost me $5.50/slice. However I purchased another half sheet white cake, with strawberry filling, from Safeway just in case my guests did not like chocolate - and this only cost me $0.50/slice. Jamie's cake design was good, and I am sure her time investment added to the cost, but the taste was really lacking. We took the cake out of the refridgerator about 2 hrs before serving. Jamie's cake was not moist, rather on the dry side (and I have ordered from custom bakers where the chocolate cake was very moist). All my guests, including me, asked for seconds of the Safeway cake instead - and I am disappointed that half of Jamie's cake was not eaten. Perhaps Jamie's cake was baked way ahead of delivery, and dried out. But for the price I was paying, the cake should taste good, more than it looked good. I was looking for owl cookies to match the theme for a baby shower I was hosting. I emailed a couple different bakers from yelp. Jamie was incredibly prompt in her responses to my inquiry and follow-on questions. Even though she didn't have an owl cookie cutter, she emailed me to show me what owl cutter she could get and worked with me to make sure the cookies matched what I was looking for! She even individually wrapped and put matching ribbon on the cookies which make using them as party favors very easy! When I picked up the cookies from Jamie, they were ADORABLE! I had picked them up around lunch time and actually had to take them into my office (I didn't want to leave them in the car for the hot afternoon) and all my co-workers admired the cookies saying how cute and perfectly made they were. I was looking for a gourmet cupcake for a going away party for a co-worker, but wanted to branch out beyond predictable Sprinkles and Kara's. I emailed my order to Jamie and received a prompt response. She was very nice, professional and accommodating of my schedule. I ordered 2 dozen Lemon Lift - lemon cake and lemon frosting - cupcakes. They were fabulous...I was totally able to enjoy the eating experience because I wasn't distracted by some of the things that I don't like in a cupcake, i.e. dry cake, or so much frosting that you have to wipe some off while eating. The cake itself was perfectly moist, and the frosting was unbelievably delicious and artfully applied, yet the amount was not overwhelming. The lemon frosting was a great balance of creamy, sweet, and fresh. The cupcakes are the standard size that you would bake at home - adding to the experience of eating a fresh, homemade cupcake. They were not too big, too sweet, too dense or too dry. They were the Goldilocks of cupcakes for me...just right. I have had the opportunity to indulge in multiple treats and cakes created by the wonderful Jamie Rose. My first taste was a chocolate cake with a delectable chocolate filling that Jamie custom designed for my un-bridesmaid's tea. It was a mad-hatter tea party theme, and the cake was covered in a bright fondant that went along perfectly. Everyone loved this cake. Not only did it look amazing, but it tasted amazing - moist, rich and sinful! I was hooked. My fiance and I have decided to use Jamie for our wedding cake.
