The process started with a simple image I sent, and the team created a cake inspired by that image and also added a ton of additional detail in the same theme. Pickup, payment, and communication were all cordial & easy. The cake decorations were stable on the drive back (this is important - I've ordered cakes where I'm praying it will stay together every time I hit a bump in the road. I am going to comment on my rose latte first that thing was beautifully made because though it was sweet but in a way that wasn't overpowering because you could still taste a little bit of the caffeine the creaminess of the milk that was used and the espresso it was like a hint in the background so a little call out there if you're someone that really wants to taste their coffee this wasn't the jam for you and that's okay my husband got the regular latte with steamed milk and I tasted his and that was like coffee in your face so you can always go for a solid twist like that. And to clarify his latte was also very good because it just tasted so fresh and of high quality. Now for the pastries. They were stupendous because they had the right amount of flakiness but softness. They also were buttery but not overly so were like major hands feel greasy it was so savory both of them which is interesting because the fillings one was chocolate one was almond I would have thought that both of them would have had an overpowering sweetness to them. We will say that we both liked the almond croissant more not that the chocolate one wasn't just as good. The almond had a little bit of a 1up because I don't know how to explain it it's almost like it had a almond crumble at the top so you bit into the pastry which was fluffy but you had the crunch on the top then you had a little bit of the almond filling and then you had the butter and like the soft but almost chewiness of the inside of the layers just stupendous all of that together was great. If we end up ever being in that area again will definitely want to go back to try the rest of the stuff they had because I want to know how everything else takes especially those beautiful cakes that were just art themselves

I came back to Susiecakes because I knew I would at least get a tasty cake.. and when I went into the store, I learned that I could get other frostings even though it was not well communicated on the website. I chose vanilla gluten-free cake layered with the strawberry buttercream and decided to purchase a cupcake version of those flavors to taste test before ordering it. Surprisingly, the store clerk didn't charge me for cupcake! That more than made up for having to drive over to ask about other frosting flavors. The next day I worked with one of their customization team specialists, Claud, to work out the details for the custom decoration. Claud was amazing. He emailed me color samples to be sure I agreed- he emailed me a detailed description on the decoration plan while I was on the phone with him just to be sure we were crystal clear. I'm giving a high rating because I never had a cake that I didn't like at Susie Cakes, but also a high rating for the customer service in the store and over the phone/email with the customization group. My friends organised a wonderful surprise birthday for me. The cake was made by The Rolling Pin. You can only imagine my surprise when they brought a beautiful birch tree cake. Although maybe unusual to most- I love these trees! I am so happy my friends found someone who would design one just for me. It was the most beautiful cake I have ever seen. you can see that Shruthi puts her heart into the work and it shows. Very talented cake artist. Not only visually great, the flavour was amazing, too. I would highly recommend for anyone's cake baking needs. Later I found out that Shruthi also specialises I'm making Macarons. I never thought I'd have these delightful treats made so well outside of Europe. So many flavours and they are made to perfection! 5/5 read more

Business is booming for SBD for obvious reasons and my only warning would be the glitch in communication. Nicole did reach out 2 days later with the pricing and I was ready to place my order and get the ball rolling. NO RESPONSE. I dm again asking for a cake flavor listing so I can finalize the order and process whatever cost that is needed. AGAIN, CRICKETS! I am forced to reach out yet again on 9/30 asking if she was going to be able to make the cake adding that important details and payment had not yet been able to be finalized. At that point I finally get a response. The entire process of working with this baker is just more stressful than it should. An email was sent to confirm cake info and the filling listed was incorrect. Then 2 days prior to pick up, I have to message Nicole again about an address as to where I need to pick up my order. She then sends another revised email. Cake- My husband was left with the job of picking up the cake since I have an infant to attend to. He comes home with a cake that is nice BUT NOT WHAT I ORDERED. The drip design was nowhere to be found. At this point, I question whether or not the cake & the filling is even correct. I am super let down by what was delivered, even after all the detailed discussion with Nicole. I have dm'd her through IG & sent her texts regarding my disappointment so we'll see how that goes. I'll update my review if/when I hear back from someone regarding this matter.

It was one of the hottest days in the Silicon Valley (over 100 degrees) but the cake kept fine in the car and sitting out. The cake itself was moist, not too sweet and had the right amount of lemon flavoring. The raspberry part was also very good. Overall, no complaints about the texture or flavor of the cake. I'm not the hugest fan of fondant so I'm not the best judge but the overall icing was fine as well. Overall, very impressed with the style, design and execution of the cake.
