I've ordered from this store many times before, which makes this experience especially disappointing. Loyal customers shouldn't have to worry about food safety because a business has become busy. I ordered the Sesame Mochi Bread with Cream, and the matcha cream filling had clearly spoiled. It had a sour, fermented smell and was completely inedible. Selling spoiled dairy products is a serious food safety issue and completely unacceptable. Given my positive experiences in the past, it's alarming to see quality control decline so dramatically. Website was super easy to navigate and there were so many different cute cakes! I chose to have strawberry filling and the cake inside was so moist and fluffy. Easy to order online and they had a 4 inch cake which was perfect for 6 people. Our cake was so cute! I knew they closed at 7 and we were coming to pick up the cake after dinner. I was excited to try this bakery after seeing it on social media. They had a special series of cakes that they were selling especially for the Christmas holiday season. After perusing the options, I ordered the 6 inch Christmas cabin cake that was advertised as serving 4-6 people and was roughly $100. Ordering online and pick up was quite seamless. It was an interesting experience to visit this bakery to pick up the cake. The other customers in line to pick up a Christmas cake were all speaking Chinese and I could see the workers making the cakes in the back also looked Chinese and the workers at the front were also speaking Chinese lol. I am also Chinese so it felt like literally everyone in that room was Chinese, not that I'm complaining! I showed them my confirmation email and they brought out my cake that was packaged very nicely (I mean as I would expect for the price). The cake was a matcha chiffon cake with strawberry cream in between the sponge and chocolate cream on the outside. I must say that the cake was quite tasty, with actual strawberries in the cake as well. The design is adorable and the cake was characteristically "not too sweet". I think the serving size was accurate as well, since I bought it for a Christmas party of 6 people and we still had a bit leftover after everyone got a slice. Overall I am quite pleased with the cake I got. They have free samples each of their matcha crème and chocolate crème (with chocolate balls!) that they place within the mochi balls. I didn't sample and I wasn't thrilled due to going out of my way as well as the lack of product... sooooo I purchased the filled mochi balls at $14.95. Service: loved how she instantly spoke mandarin :) There's outdoor seating but never saw a single person sticking around. Modern esque wedding decor like vibes...far from thinking an Asian owns and operates this establishment until you read the product signs. Woohoo! Overall: Their mochi balls were absolutely fabulous. Located in Cupertino, they took over the old Egghead location. Parking is abundant as they're in a small lot and free. They require your ID and card used for purchase before handing you your cake. The cake itself was nice and airy, very similar to your classic Asian style fruit cake where it's not too sweet. I may have found my new favorite cake place in South Bay! The mini jellycat cake is the perfect size for 4 people (about 1 slice each), when you don't want any leftovers. I dropped the ball on pre-ordering a cake for my best friend's daughter, so I looked around for bakeries that had ready made small ready-made cakes. Horizon Bakery's 4" mini cakes popped up in my search. I hadn't been to the bakery before, which excited me in trying some place new. I stopped by the bakery around 12:30pm on a Thursday. The place was quiet, and I was the only customer at the time. I was helped right away by a very friendly employee. I got the 4" Jellycat inspired strawberry fresh cream cake, which was cutely decorated. I'm sure a 6-yr old would appreciate it. The cake was a perfect size. Her family could probably get ~5 decent sized slices from it. I ordered several other items for myself to try, including the chicken fluff buns, the chocolate and matcha sesame mochi bread, the boxed soy cake, and slice of the Monet cheesecake. I enjoyed a couple of desserts over others. The chicken fluff bun was interesting. Totally get it. Kind of reminded me a salted egg yolk dessert - sweet and savory. The sweetness came from the custard filling, and the savory came from the chicken floss. I liked the outer texture of the sesame mochi bread. Paris baguette makes a similar sesame tapioca ball that I like. Horizon Bakery's sesame mochi bread balls are filled with either matcha cream or chocolate cream. I personally enjoyed the chocolate cream better. Annoying how this was a messy dessert. The filling oozes out everywhere. Not a fan of the classic soy milk cake. I can appreciate a dessert that isn't overly sweet, but this wasn't sweet to me at all. The Monet cheesecake was my favorite. It was a very pretty slice with its ombre of green to blue hues made from matcha and butterfly pea powder respectively. The matcha part had a lighter, cream-like texture that was layered on the blue colored traditional cheesecake part. The slice was as good as it looked. read more

Have tried both the sesame mochi bread w cream (14.68) and the golden chicken fluff bun (15.95) a few times now. Both are solid. The sesame mochi bread box contains five with a mix of chocolate cream and matcha cream while the chicken fluff bun box contains four. The sesame mochi bread tastes like a chewier, more moist cream puff that isn't too sweet -- liked both creams but liked the matcha one more. The chicken fluff bun reminds me of pork floss that's a little bit thinner and lighter. I like that the cream used for that was light and that the buns had plenty of fluff added. Prices are a bit more than I would normally pay, but the baked goods are good and worth the splurge every so often. read more

When I called, they mentioned that its a chiffon cake with berry filling in between and cream on top. I specifically did not want extra cream on the cake and wanted it more spongy. On the call they confirmed that the cake is chiffon and there is only minimal cream on top. The cake looked super cute, but upon cutting, there was atleast 2 inches of cream in each slice. It felt like there was a little cake between cream. No doubt, the cream was fresh and light, but that's not what I wanted. I think they should clarify that there is a LOT of cream on this cake with little actual cake inside. If you are a cream lover, this cake is for you. Followed fellow yelpers' guide to check same-day item availability & order online (thanks y'all :-), and got: * 4" Mango Strawberry Naked Cake ($36.68) * Sea Salt Oreo Box Cake ($11.98) * Earl Grey Basque Cheesecake ($11.65) * 4-pack Golden Chicken Fluff Bun ($15.95) Our favorite was the Golden Chicken Fluff Bun - they use a soft chiffon cake for the bun, sandwiched by a light smooth custardy cream, and enrobed by their toasty crispy chicken floss & seaweed pieces. The flavor of the chicken floss & seaweed really came through, and the whole combination was complementary & light = easy to eat a few. Our second favorite was the mini Oreo cake (didn't measure it but estimate it to be approximately 3-3.5 square inches). There were Oreo chunks in the cream and overall it tasted Oreo-y as hoped. The mango strawberry cake is very instagrammable, and appreciate the work & precision put into it. Overall the cake was light & fluffy, and cream light, so overall flavor was light. Besides the light-simple flavor, everyone agreed the chunks of fruit used were very fresh! I believe they change the variety of fruit used in their cakes based on the season. It came in a chic transparent box with ribbon, and came with a single golden candle which was nice. Lastly, the Earl Grey Basque cheesecake had a nice Earl Grey flavor, slightly savory, somewhat creamy. It was not bad, we just didn't love it, and may try another flavor next time. Postscript: they have handmade mooncakes during the Mid-Autumn festival season. We didn't get any, but saw many orders awaiting pickup. read more

I've gotten 3 cakes here and all were wonderful. Their cakes are beautiful and although expensive very much worth. I got the Jellycat, the White Puppy Dog, and the Monet Cake here. Most of their cakes are a combinations vanilla cake and strawberries and cream which has the perfect amount of non sweetness and sweetness. The monet cake is different as it's a matcha and butterfly pea flower cheesecake base. Very delicious and would recommend. With the mango it was scrumptious. The strawberry boba was good as well but nothing too special. tasted like strawberry shortcake which crystal boba on the top. The classic soy milk was not good.
