I will say that walking in the space is elegant is the word I would like to use but also inviting with the little extras that they do at the table with the fresh flowers the soft chairs the colorful decor that surrounds it. Also the two individuals behind the counter that were taking orders and packaging things were just a delight. Both of them greeted us with a smile and they asked us if it was our first time to the shop and we told them yes and so they walked us through some of the more popular items and how are things were broken down and that was very much appreciated cuz there are many many options in front of you in unless you know exactly what you want you can be looking at everything for a couple of minutes before you decide on even one thing. We ended up getting a regular latte and a rose latte for our drinks. And then as a little delicious taste of something we got the chocolate croissant and the almond croissant. I am going to comment on my rose latte first that thing was beautifully made because though it was sweet but in a way that wasn't overpowering because you could still taste a little bit of the caffeine the creaminess of the milk that was used and the espresso it was like a hint in the background so a little call out there if you're someone that really wants to taste their coffee this wasn't the jam for you and that's okay my husband got the regular latte with steamed milk and I tasted his and that was like coffee in your face so you can always go for a solid twist like that. And to clarify his latte was also very good because it just tasted so fresh and of high quality. Now for the pastries. They were stupendous because they had the right amount of flakiness but softness. They also were buttery but not overly so were like major hands feel greasy it was so savory both of them which is interesting because the fillings one was chocolate one was almond I would have thought that both of them would have had an overpowering sweetness to them. We will say that we both liked the almond croissant more not that the chocolate one wasn't just as good. The almond had a little bit of a 1up because I don't know how to explain it it's almost like it had a almond crumble at the top so you bit into the pastry which was fluffy but you had the crunch on the top then you had a little bit of the almond filling and then you had the butter and like the soft but almost chewiness of the inside of the layers just stupendous all of that together was great. If we end up ever being in that area again will definitely want to go back to try the rest of the stuff they had because I want to know how everything else takes especially those beautiful cakes that were just art themselves

I decided to get one Lemon-Raspberry Meringue Tart and one Mix Berry Vanilla Creme Tart. Mr. Manaois boxed up my selections and helped me at the register. They also gave many varieties of hot beverages, sweet and savory scones and sweet and savory croissants. There are also a lot of different pastries. This would be a great place to have a small relaxing breakfast. There are several places inside to enjoy your goodies. Both desserts, that I purchased, were so delicious. My favorite was the lemon raspberry meringue tart. The tartness of the lemon-raspberry filling worked so perfectly with the delicious sweet meringue. I will definitely come here again to try other items.

The sourdough had the perfect balance: chewy without being too sour, with a crust that was crisp but not so hard that it fought back. Easily the best sourdough toast I've had in the Bay Area. If you come here, this is the one thing you have to order. The only disappointment was the butter. They serve French butter, but for an extra $2, the portion was tiny and honestly nothing special. I've had better butter from Whole Foods. It didn't take away from how incredible the bread was, but it wasn't worth the upcharge. Their Kouign-amann is also one of the best I've ever had. Instead of the typical flat, flaky style, theirs is taller with countless buttery layers that create an amazing texture. The cappuccino was another highlight. It had subtle notes of orange peel, whiskey, and cardamom, making it unique. The latte art was beautiful too. Overall, Manresa Bread is one of those cafés that makes you want to sit down with a laptop or a book and spend a few hours there. This place is a gem. Debbie is a gem. Right around the holidays, my wife ordered a NY-style blueberry cheesecake from her for us and some friends who are also cheesecake lovers, and it was hands down the most amazing cheesecake the four of us ever tasted (and we've tasted a lot of cheesecake)! It tasted just like ice cream and just melted in our mouths. Not only that, when Debbie found out I had hurt my hand just before the cake was to be picked up, she personally delivered the cake to us at no extra charge! This woman can bake an awesome cake and has the biggest heart. We will be coming here for all of our future cheesecake needs. read more

Also, she was so accommodating by making this cake on a Thursday when her availability is strictly weekends. However, if I knew that asking for an accommodation would mean my needs wouldn't have been met I would have looked elsewhere. I ordered a 7 inch buttercream cake but instead received fondant which went uneaten. I went back to review the invoice she sent and I realized there was a portion that said fondant but it also said buttercream so I just ignored it because I had no problems with the previous cakes I had received. This cake was for my friends son so I was so sad when they complained about the toughness of the fondant. I should have contacted her prior to make sure it would be buttercream but I believe she also could have let me know she would have been diverging from what I requested. Especially because $220 isnt cheap :(. The inside of the cake was great!

Only complaint is that the frosting texture was a touch too oily/buttery and dense, it felt like I was eating a solid chunk of sweetened whipped butter. Taste was great tho. 24 Carrot: 4/5. Perfectly spiced, fluffy frosting complemented the cake perfectly, it was just too sweet for me. Lemon cake with lemon buttercream: 4/5. Lemon flavor was very subtle and mild, could've been stronger. Also: too sweet. Coffee toffee crunch: 4.5/5. Too sweet, but the frosting and crunch were sooo good! Incredible coffee flavor. I would come here again if I needed cupcakes for an event. These were top notch, for American cupcakes.

Unlike other sugary items that make you feel icky. Her frosting is fluffy, and the designs she makes are soooo pretty! I ordered cupcakes for my graduation party, and everyone loved how pretty and delicious they were. Daisy is also super communicative online! We were planning when the cupcakes should arrive, putting a customized label on some of the bigger cupcakes, and she even does delivery if you are close!
