To give this 5 stars seems to low…read more Tattoos are not to be entered into lightly. Tattoos are serious. They are quite serious to me. This is not my first tattoo, but it is my first tattoo here in Reno. The relationship and trust you build in an artist is a tricky one. You entrust them with something important, precious, to you. I have had the rest of my work done by one artist but that artist is now in New York. As I can't run off to NY every time my heart tugs me to a tattoo, I wanted to develop trust in someone locally. Nes came quite highly recommended from a coworker who has black and grey tattoos also. I am not a person who seeks a colorful tattoo. I want clean lines and black and grey. This tattoo was important as it is a memorial piece. I sought Nes out and dropped by the shop on a random saturday afternoon. He and I spoke briefly, I explained my idea and he agreed. I booked an appt for a little over 1 month later. A few days previous to the appointment I dropped the bow tie off (the real one) that the tattoo would be based on. The day I arrived I was quite anxious. The emotional weight of the tattoo and the concern over the trust in an artist I haven't used before both raging inside me. Nes immediately set me at ease. He smiled. Welcomed me over to his section. Asked me a few questions and then set to work sketching it out. He laid the stencil and I was overjoyed. He asked me the story behind the tattoo and I explained as I fought back the tears. He set the needle to my skin and we both never looked back. He worked meticulously for 2 hours on a piece that is about 5/6" x 3". His touch is light handed and made the tattoo experience easy. The pain was quite minimal and the conversation excellent. At the end I stood up, took a look in the mirror and cried. I glanced back to see tears streaming from my wives face as well. The lines are clean and perfect. The shading is gorgeous. Overall, thanks go to Nes for his impeccable talent and care. He knew what this meant to me and he made every detail perfect. I will return to Nes and I will trust him with the things that matter most to me.
